Tidying Up....not..

This card, made using a Magenta stamp that I've had for years, was possibly the most well received of the dozen that I submitted for the Marathon session on Sunday. The stamp image is about an inch wide, and called 'Dotted Stems'. I used a 1 1/2" punch to create a mask for the centre; and as you can see, added a ribbon to turn it into a wreath, and although you can't see, there's blibs and blobs of platinum glitter glue on it too. Funny how it's the simple ones that hold biggest appeal...I guess because they're easy to replicate, even if you don't have the same stamp - in this case any branch, twig or border image would work really.
I still haven't quite unpacked yet. I'm delighted to hear from you that I'm not alone in my delaying tactics.. isn't it a strange thing! I've pulled out the stamps - they need a good clean - and I've topped up the files that hold the card stock....but the baskets containing ink, tools etc are intact..because we're doing it again this Sunday coming...if you have a last minute day off and wanna make some Christmas cards - come!

Despite the lack of unpacking, I have been busy honest! Actually, am waiting for glitter to dry whilst I type; the hearts are nearly finished! And that's a load off, I can tell you! They're not too bad an interpretation of what's been in my head. But goodness, three types of glitter and some more sanding surely takes a toll on your clothes, desk, floor! I don't know how long they'll take to get to their destination, but will picture them here as soon as I can, if only to prove that I didn't let the swap down - no matter how amateur my tree ornament making!

And of course, in other news...I've been too dang busy to eat the chocolate today...it's safe whilst wrapped to be honest. The smell of tonight's gourmet adventure is now reminding me that I need savoury first. Mr Dunnit will be especially pleased with gourmet supper tonight...I'm road testing a Christmas Pudding. This is a double delight - he loves Christmas Pudding and it means there's a pudding. Not at all a normal part of my gourmet service!

What is it about men and their puddings my OH is exactly the same, has to have some sort of pudding and is most delighted if he is offered something other than a yoghurt! We have to start testing christmas pudding shortly too as he can't get his "Mrs Peeks " as our Tescos isn't stocking them this year, honestly you would think someone had cancelled christmas on him. Glad to see the chocolate is still wrapped! Love the card.

Hugs Pam x

Love the card and masking to turn into a wreath - brill.

Shhhhh ..... don't mention puddings in case my DH hears, especially Christmas Puds. Although we have been together over 33 years, he has threatened to divorce me on the grounds of him being pudding-deprived on more than one occasion!

Very stylish card, I love it. Not sure how you can be too busy for chocolate though... I think that might count as blasphemy!

Gorgeous card, love the stamp and the colours! All men must be the same with puddings and Christmas pudding beats sushi any day of the week :). Well done on not eating the choc!

Love the card ...great idea to create a wreath using a mask. As for chocolate ....I am like you, re wrapped products being less of a temptation ...a box of chocs is safe until the wrapping is off ...then 1/2lb slips down quite easily with a mug of coffee.lol

That card is yummy, really effective, I can see why it was a favourite!

Craig is the same with puddings, a right terror. I've lost count of the amount of boxes of mince pies that have come into the house since the end of October. I've had about three of the pies if that :D

This sunday... this sunday, you know, I think I might be doing something this sunday, what was it again? Oh yeah.

I'M GOING TO SEE ALICE!!!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

The card is wonderful Julia :) I wouldn't have thought of doing that with the stamp, it's looks so effective - initially I thought it was one large stamp. I would come on Sunday if I lived nearer.

Julia, this card is just fabby. You are so right that the simplest ones are often the most pleasing on the eye. Thanks for the explanation of how you did it... I may just have to have a go at something similar... I'll have to see if I have a suitable stamp! I love the shades of ink you used too!
