What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 336

Well, probably more accurately, what isn't on my Work desk? I realise that this is going to get boring, but the one thing that is lacking is decent light. Oh how I  long for Spring and late light already!
At least the iPad has made a triumphant return to the stand. The proper place. Mostly because I needed the basket space for dirty stamps. That are still there. You can clearly see that I've just finished a Christmas card..one more for my last workshop of the year at the end of the month. So all the paraphenalia that goes with that is visible. Quite without deliberate thought, you can't see the pile that is balanced on the right. My A5 cutter is currently home to at least 2 acrylic blocks, one of my rulers, one of my pairs of scissors, the desk edge bin that Jan made for me and the book of music that I used for the card. Yep, its teetering. But unless it falls, I'm too busy to sort it.
Talking of busy, I've had a couple of very involved Wednesdays which has rudely reduced my visits; I hope it was just a phase. Please extend me some slack! Thank you!
Meanwhile, share will you, the hive of creative activity that is your place. If only to inspire me to tidy up a bit! Put WOYWW in your post title and link here for...well lots!

Love the Xmas card, very traditional but effective. The ipad chair was getting withdrawal symptoms just like me LOL

Julia, we are all so grateful for you having brought us all together that we would cut you some slack any day. Love your "C"Card which is one step nearer to the big day than I am. I say that but I did have a card made when I was doing a blog hop (one that did not pass muster) but where the heck it is I have not a clue. So I count my total made as zero at the moment.
Hugs, Neet xx

That's a pretty card! You and your Kraft card eh? It's a good combo...like salt &vinegar or G&T :-)

Such a nice X-mas card! I guess it's about time for me to start thinking about Christmas cards too... haven't put my mind to it yet though. Maybe I will carve a nice stamp (as I do most of the years, when the deadline gets real close...) I hope I can inspire you to tidy your desk with my work-desk photo... it is, as always, pretty clean over at my place. Have a nice week my friend! Love from the Netherlands, Marit #11

The "Joy" card looks great Julia. Usual 'busy' desk (light or no light) so always plenty to see.

Good morning Julia,
It's a busy time of year for us women folk now. Might sound sexist but it doesn't effect any men I know.
Hope you have a good week

Like the Christmas card! I am under pressure from family to get some more made but just too busy at the moment which is why my desk is a mess, hope I will be forgiven. Happy woyww, Angela x 21

I love your card - it looks good against the Kraft card background, and I really like the garland stamp you used, it looks very good with the red 'joy' - I take it that's a separate stamp? Hope you have a good week and find a little bit of time to relax.

I think "Joy" is perfect - do you write a list for the bits and bobs in every card you do? x Jo

Hi Julia...lovely Christmas card, some creative fun to be had at your last workshop - we might be opposite with seasons and daylight but I still find it dark at my desk and quite tricky not to get a dark desk pic. Enjoy your week Cheers RobynO#30

Morning Julia. Of course you can have some slack!! You have an incredibly busy life, so we fully understand if you can't visit every time. I love that card - most attractive. Well done.
Take care. God bless.

hehehee you have to watch those teetering piles Julia, they can get very uncomfortable! I have them cropping up all over the place at the moment :o) The card looks really beautiful - something beautiful always arises from your desk chaos, that's the important thing. Loved your photos in the previous post too, and the story behind them. Have a great week :o) Annie C #33

Lovely wreath card. It's a popular choice, that motif, for Christmas cards this year. I've just kitted for the next workshop, now I need to come up with 3 projects for the one after. 'Tis never ending!

I totally agree on the darkness, what a "JOY" it would be to have more light in the evening. I must be getting to the age where driving at night is not so fun. We are having LOTS of deer on the roadways. Have fun with your workshop. With this very nice weather Christmas seems further away than 6wks. I need to hustle. Enjoy WOYWW day.

Hi Julia! Yes, I know what you mean about days getting out of hand. I hope you get a little time to yourself this week.
I do like the Christmas card - a very nice design, straightforward, but traditional and attractive. Lovely!

Last summer, I purchased Tim Holtz wreath stamp and die set that is similar to the stamp you used in your Christmas card. Your card looks so pretty, that I can't wait to use my set. Happy WOYWW! #37

I understand totally about the 'dark', I have a smashing 'white' light lamp bought from Lidl - lots of angles to amuse - clipped onto one of my shelves and it has made such a difference, well worth the initial expense.
What a pretty card, I am baking this afternoon so a bit full of joy at the coming taste testing!!!

have a good week

Slack well and truly extended Julia, you know we'd forgive you anything! Still thinking about Christmas cards here, but did see a lovely card I may well CASE on Sunday. I bought the stamp for it, anyway.Love browsing your desk to see what goodies we have in common- quite a few, it seems. Have a lovely week, love & hugs, Shaz xxxx

You have some very familiar things on your desk, Julia, including the piles of things that will eventually topple!! Love the look of your Christmas card, I need to start thinking in that direction too, it's creeping up fast.

I love this angle...I feel like I'm Miss Julia getting ready to whip out some Christmas card magic. So when you are in the midst of stamping, do you put the dirty stamps together in a basket and clean them all at once? I am not a great stamper, and yet I do love to play with my stamps, and I always think I have to keep the baby wipes right at hand and clean them off immediately--but that is a huge hassel! Have a good week. Sandy Leigh #45

When I do kraft based Christmas cards they look drab, but yours is gorgeous!! Never worry about the visits, hopefully things will be back on track soon. A big thanks to Jan for the link up as I was at work before you got here and I can't work out how to do it from my phone!

I'm badly in the light problem too... Not that it isn't ok to work in, but taking pictures is a pain. And the weather here has turned so gloomy, that the short time of daylight is practically just grey. Can't wait for at least the snow! You'll soon have your C-cards done... Most of us are just getting started:)
Happy woyww!

Beautiful card but it's reminding me I haven't even thought about Christmas yet. My life is like yours at the moment, crazy, madly busy. I've tried to join in for a few weeks now but there's always something that stops me. I made it this week and I kept it short. Yes miracles do happen :)

No idea where my comment from yesterday went, but here I go again. I totally get the "involved Weds." thing. It keeps happening! If something will fail (last week, my graphics card - computer was FINE, I just couldn't SEE anything LOL!) it will do so on a Weds. The 4 weeks before THAT, the in-laws, this week, another visitor (only for 2 weeks ... ) blah blah blah. Fed up now. Lovely to see you at the crop and will look forward to catching up again end of the month for the Christmas one. Let's hope for lots of lovely Christmas cheer and good news to share.

late ... again!

We never see the Light here in Copenhagen I think (It seems to) - but only today I saw a glimt of the Sun - I think the dark places as yours are the problem for many artists. I envy you the Christmas card you have done already ;) I just start - Thank you EVER so much for all !!

Kind regards

How did I forget to leave a comment yesterday, Julia - another of my senior moments, of which there are many! I'm empathizing with you over the lack of light - Hurricane Abigail is making sure the there's been very little daylight here today. I dread what the winter will bring and if it wasn't that I'd be wishing my life away, and at my age I can't count on many more decades ahead of me, I'd be longing for Spring too. Your Christmas card is lovely - I like Kraft cards. Have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #52
