What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 335

There you are gentle Desker, and well I hope. It's taken me a couple of days to get my act together this week and here I am in the dead of morning, trying to work out how it became Wednesday so soon! Here's what I was doing last night.....preparing card kits and ingredients for a workshop on Thursday:
You can just about see a couple of the cards, not deliberately kept from you, just left in my line of vision so that I can give myself the illusion of knowing what I'm doing. You can see my ipad carelessly slung on top of the dirty stamp section...listening to my friend Janis Ian whilst cutting card. Not too shabby a way to work! The ipad stand is apparently the exclusive home to a photo of me, my three sisters and my two cousins. Rare. Young. Loving it. It's waiting to be made into a LO, and this is a copy of the copy - I thought my sainted Mama might enjoy it. But every time I go to visit....yep, I forget all about it! Next to that is evidence that I've done October's bookwork and VAT return for this quarter. The giant hole punch. Never on my desk unless I've been doing 'real' work! So I'm sort of doing stuff, albeit not enormously creative. I'll post photos of the cards soon and then we can pretend that once in a while, my desk is inspiring something other than the desire to come round and tidy up!
As always, this is no party without your desk..put WOYWW in your post title, link here and visit to your heart's content. That's what it does; causes content. Also check out Jan's fab post about the weekend CROP2. Really decent pictures!!

oh dear, I have no idea if my first comment was accepted, maybe it got send the way the ipad is, not exactly on its ipad recliner, makes me laugh that everything else sits on the ipad chair. what do you use the Reynolds freezer paper for?

Morning Julia. Glad you managed cuppa at the crop - will be looking out for photos of everyone. Your desk is way more industrious than mine (well done on the returns!) - I can't find a thing on mine this week - a general dumping ground whilst we have been enjoying the autumn colours... Oh well, I'll get back there.
Take care. God bless.

I am always amazed at people who lead classes, so much prep involved. Looking forward to seeing the family page and it was such a great day Saturday (I really look forward to them).

Good Morning Julia! I'm up way early, can't sleep so I thought I'd get a head start on desk snooping. Hope today allows you some time to get ready for your card making class. Poor iPad! Lost it's spot and thrown in with the stamps. Have a great week!

Even though you may not have taken any photos, I saw several of you. It looked like a good crop and I suspect Jan was quite happy.

I hope you are rested enough after the crop to enjoy teaching the workshop tomorrow.

BTW, I think that's a great photo of you six young ladies. I enlarged to see it better.

I just love looking at workdesks to see what interesting tools etc to see what you have that I might need. What is the pink thing at the back with a bit sticking up? Jackie 14 x

If you ever tidy your desk completely, I will be so disappointed, as I love seeing all your stuff.

Sorry, but I don't have the urge to come over and tidy Julia... leave it as is as it is not too messy after all! I plan on creating an 'old fashioned LO' for a while now but haven't got to it... too busy playing in my new journal. Oh well, let's hope I grow real old (like over 100...) so I have time to do everything I have on my list... happy Wednesday dear, keep on rockin'... Marit #21

Morning Julia. Yes, I am late linking this morning. I was up at silly o'clock because it's a school run day for the twinnies but run?....not today cos I had a slip yesterday and jarred my knee so it's rather stiff this morning and linking to the blogs was, to be honest, the last thing on my mind. I will dose it up with Nurofen for a day or two and hopefully life will return to normal [whatever that is lol]. Lovely to see you have a busy desk but to it looks dark enough outside to have been taken in the middle of the night.....roll on Spring eh?
Have a good week.
Hugs,
Annie x

Hi Julia, I love old family photos in fact I often I have been known to alter new ones to make them look old. The best photographs we had taken at our wedding were black and white and the details stood out far more than those took in colour by the official photographer. I'm off to the NEC tomorrow so will have to get on with my visits today or it will be Friday when I finish off.
Have a good woyww and happy crafting when you get back to it.

Now that's a 'normal' Julia desk...I'm definitely going to have a good look at that photo on Friday though!!

Hi Julia that reminds me my son has asked for photos of himself from babyhood upwards in preparation for his and his wife's upcoming joint 40th celebrations- must do that! Crop sounded fun and so lovely that Shaz and her DH made it! Happy WOYWW Anne x #_27 ( I think)

I think we all need to see that photo in close up - looks like a lovely bunch! Were you crafting in the middle of the night? It is so dark in the mornings even though we should have an extra hour of light. Roll on Spring time!! x Jo

Hi Julia, glad to read you all had a grand time at the crop, will be looking out for photos to check out the creativity. I like that you do real work on your desk as well as your creative stuff - I'd be sidetracked always to making cards. Looking forward to seeing those cards close up....enjoy your week RobynO#28

What a fabulous photo - I have mum's albums here and am taking photos of the photos on my phone to use in my smash books. Gutted I couldn't make the crop. As always it looks like everyone had fun and cake!! Take care Zo xx

Hi Julia, looking very industrious there! Your iPad looks right at home nesting there - I can remember being so precious about my iPad when I first got it, but now it gets put wherever I can find a space, my constant companion whilst cooking and creating and always covered in food and paint! I love old photos, what would we do without them?! Have a great week :o) Annie C #33

Your window is as dark out as mine. I don't like darkness so early AM & PM. Sunday we moved clocks back 1 hr. Your desk is great with all that you've been organizing for. Old photos, their smile time and I've a closet full of them to be organized again this winter. Off to see the crop photos. Have a lovely week.

Hi Julia,
Made it at last! no more secret snooping -time to snoop in public! Think I've linked in OK but who knows - its been a long time.Your desk looks so tidy compared to mine. I'm going to blame the dark evenings and mornings making photographing the desk difficult! Do you think that excuse will wash?

I love that old photo of you and your sisters and cousins. I would have liked to see that enlarged. Well, please show us when you make a lay-out. It is too precious not to.
Oh Janis Ian! I was thinking about her the other day funny enough. Her rasping voice, straight from the soul! Another 26 yr old that bit the dust....
Have a good week,
Lisca

I would love to see more of a closeup of the young photo with your sisters! I enjoyed the crop from across the pond and always appreciate the pictures of the lovelies I think of as friends. And your desk is always interesting...because it's yours! Hugs. Sandy Leigh

Hi Julia, I made it this week, and at #42, in not too bad time either. Your desk proves, if proof were needed, that you are an ace at multi-tasking :) I'm so impressed that you can craft and talk to a friend on your ipad at the same time! Wishing you a great week, and fun at the workshop. Hugs, Elizabeth x #42

Curious...is there a WOYWW Instagram? Because that would also be amazing!

Hi Julia,

I bet teaching classes really keeps your creative juices flowing! That would light a fire under me. I haven't done anything crafty so didn't have anything to share this week.

Thought I'd stop by to see what you and some of the others have been up to.

Hugs,
Kay

I always love seeing what is on your desk, or not on your desk, how it evolves from one week to the next. We see a lot of actual desk this week. Mine is so much the same I shan't bore you all with it.

Greetings Julia, long time to hop for me. Life, puppies, life, all that fun stuff that stops me from getting to the fun stuff, eh! I need the creativity from this group to get me going again, so I'm so glad you are all still here!
Happy Wednesday!

'Twas lovely to see you on Saturday, Julia. All my prepping and teaching is done for this week. I'm in full on Christmas mode now that it's November. Hope your workshop goes well tomorrow.

I'm super impressed you can mix "real work" and "Crafty" work on the same desk; that would spell disaster for me!! Can't wait to visit everyone to vicariously attend the Crop!!
Have a great week and good luck at the workshop.

Hello, Julia, your desk looks pretty organized, really. Will be eager to get a look at your cards -- I see one that looks like it has words in the shape of a Christmas tree as the focal point. I'm all atwitter wondering if it's a stamp or a die or letter stickers . . . I'm doing photo cards this year instead of making cards. Some years it sounds fun, other years it sounds like work, so I choose accordingly. Plus we have a really cute picture of husband, daughter, and me with Mickey and Minnie to use. :) In fact, I was so excited I've already got the cards printed up!

Nice to see such a busy desk but also to see some cards on it. Like the look of the one on the top but cannot see whether the blue is flowers or stars from here. I enjoy seeing what you are making to teach others.
Glad the crop went well and you all had a great time. One day ...

That looks like a lovely photo as far as I can tell from here! It will make a gorgeous layout with that 1970/80's feel to it. You must show us next time! Have fun for the rest of the week!

Busy, busy desk! And soooo much tidier than my own (yes, I am ashamed of the mess in my studio. I will tidy it very soon!).
The cards look interesting, but I would really like to see the scrapbook layout, when you have finished it. Photo please?
Have a good week! Lizzie #36
