WOYWW 287

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday.  You can find out how effective this question is by joining in really, and to do that, you can easily work it out or read the notes in the WOYWW pages to be found a click away at the top of the page.
Well, as you're here, you might as well look mine over....
It's a layered hell hole!  Even the embossing powder is taking refuge on the iPad stand.  Luckily, I managed to put the lid on it!  What you see is the layers of papers and cuttings and colour ways involved in making something nice for a workshop. In this case, it WILL be a gift card holder.  It will be. Even if I have to spend another 3 days messing about with it. The paper engineering is sound, it's the images and colours that have me behaving badly. Weird. Wired. Both. The light is terrible - that's what you get for making me get up early to do this before work..Mr Dunnit has let me have two days off this week and I just knew it wasn't going to last!  The gift stamp is by Stampendous and I was trying to make it look pieced with silver glitter paper. Not for much longer.  There at the back against my ATG gun is the tea bag dispenser..I'll get to that.  The stars on the door handle are reminding me of a deadline, and I intend to use them...I'll get to that too. I need to see what you're doing and erm, why.  Although I may be able to guess the why on the first Wednesday of December! Put WOYWW in your post title and link here.  It may take days, but we'll visit each other.  I'm now offering Christmas blends of tea and coffee, in seasonally appropriate china.  Really, stop awhile.

Wow, your desk is really looking busy, but at least the layers are of creative stuff! What is that Merry Christmas design peaking out? I like it! Happy WOYWW!

I had every intention of playing this week, but realized I have dug myself into a hole that I may not get out of in time for Christmas. I see you have deadlines, too, and you will probably meet yours before I meet mine.

Those days off went by fast, I bet. I could help you with color, but I'm not sure what you are working on (grin). Have a great Wednesday and week. If you don't hear from me for awhile, you know it's because I'm trying to shovel my way out of deadlines, not snow.

Woah....lots of UFO's on your desk today, 2 days off work will no doubt sort these out. Ooh, festive tea in nice China? Flick the kettle on and I will bring the mince pies :-)

Hi Julia - a relaxing cuppa with you sounds just what the doctor ordered! Manic but merry, festive and only slightly frazzled here today. I'm determined to enjoy and be laid back about this Advent - and it's working (sort of) so far. Hope you have a great week, and that all your crafty endeavours come together. Most of all - ENJOY!! Gosh that is a busy desk Julia.
Don't you just hate the light this time of year - I have problems with my photos at any time of year but it seems to get worse during the Autumn/Winter.

Hi Julia, thanks for visiting...yep our desks are both a mess...I don't know how you fit in work, classes, getting ready for workshops, making your own cards, blogging, as well as the press of all that happens around this time of year....You're a legend. I am just so pleased I made the cards all year 80+ and I don't work (am really enjoying that bit). Hope it all goes well this week Cheers RobynO#26

Wow, what a busy desk you have today Julia! Had hoped to make some Christmas cards today but am still recovering from a bug I picked up over the Thanksgiving holidays. Still, I had some exciting news to share... Hope you have a wonderful week and as always, thanks for hosting! :-)

Your desk is indeed 'a bit messy' ;) today Julia... such a lot going on there... I get chaotic even looking at it - hope you find your way through the paper and stuff but I'm sure you will and create something beautiful in the end. Go for it girl!!! Happy woyww and a hug from Holland, Marit #32

Busy busy busy! Love the little stars hanging up in the back and those little glittered presents. I think we are all at it this time of the year, and why is it that even though each I promise to be more organised - but still end up creating last minute Christmas cards LOL! Have a great week and thanks for the link up.

Can I just have hot water please but in a festive mug or cup? I'll bring my own teabag as I am such a fussy/funny old bird when it comes to tea.
I cannot work with layers on my desk but then my workspace is so much smaller than yours - I need to get this craftroom extended.
Hugs, Neet xx

Oh hell, this looks like stress!! But I must admit, I normally have many layers on my desk, as I am working on several projects at one time and need a lot of stuff! Oh, I gladly accept the tea! Thanks a lot!!

Hi Julia,

I have never seen your desk look like that, and you sound so panicked!
I saw the stars post, I have a load of shapes I bought but only ordinary papers to use on them, or paint, I was thinking paint. Now I bought them at least a year ago lol.

I need to make gift card holders too, you are putting me off the idea!

Now that I have finally shaken off that virus, after 3 weeks, maybe I can put my mind to gift card holders.

You asked last week how I was getting on with Pan Pastels, and I have fessed up on my post that I haven't actually used them yet. I now own 3 of the flat cakes in little plastic containers that neatly screw together, and I won all three. They seem too precious or maybe I am scared to begin and mess something up with the few I have. I will have a go with them soon, nothing to lose really.
Anyway, look - I am creeping up numbers wise, 37 this week, unless everyone is too busy doing Christmas stuff.
So Happy WOYWW,

Carol #37

Love your messy desk - almost everything is white! The cut out present looks very nice - wonder what you will do with it? Today I am #44, usually I'm in the late 50's early 60's - perhaps Christmas is keeping a few away. Anyway,I made it! Lindart #44

Phew! Made it at last ... thought I wasn't going to get here again this week but the sun and the stars must be in perfect alignment ... or something like that :) Your 'hell hole' is such a reassuring sight ... mine isn't the only one! Glad to hear you have been given a couple of days off ... hope you get all you plan done in the time. Whatever, have a good week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #47

You have lots and lots of stuff out for sure. I hope the visual reminders do their job. I've tried that method and they often go and hide.

My DH is a tea drinker, Now you have me curious about the construction of your dispensers. Thanks for sharing. I didn't link up this week, I have been adding to last weeks, because I want to keep all the coats for this round in one place. I wasn't sure if a continuous link would be okay? Keep smiling and creating.

You look very productive Julia! Ummm, seasonal flavored coffee did I hear?! I'll be over... :D
I love the cut outs on your desk of presents. You gave me a giggle when you said even your embossing powder was taking refuge! Thank goodness you did put the cover back on! I would have knocked the thing over spilling my precious embossing powder all over the place adding in several expletives along the way! Well, I'm off to see some other thoroughly organized and perfectly neat desks... lol!
Hugs and see you next week my sweet blogging sister,

Hi, Julia! My table doesn't yet look like this, but it will soon. I want to make Christmas tags for gifts and am doing December Daily, too, and we won't mention all the filling in on Project Life 2014 that I'd like to be mostly done with before 2015 arrives . . . but it's fun sort of busy to be. Hope your decision making for the gift card holder snaps into place for you. The red stars look lovely. Love the image of the embossing powder leaping to the iPad stand for safety. Happiest of WOYWWs to you! ~ Laura the bookworm

I am grinning from ear to ear.. because, by Sunday that is pretty much what my desk looked like but, I managed to unearth about 12 square inches in the center for a flat spot...

Belinda Basson said...

Thanks for the heads up of Cindy's choir of angels in boxes...they are great, I saw them last week. There is so much you can do with that concept of stuff in a box. I am quite addicted and have not made a flat card for ages now! That glitter still looks precarious even if it does have its lid on!

Julia,

Hello how are you? that is one really busy desk, you should partake in the push and shove method for crafting, it really does work when desperate and yes I have been known to do it from time to time. Stars for reminders, I don't think it would work for me. As for lighting, you get Santa to drop you in some good lighting, you need it now the weather is turning nasty and cold. As for Mr Dunnit you tell him to let you have time off. Sorry not been around long story with children and surgery issues and charity work, normal work, you know the drill. I feel bad if I can't return the visits that people would make so it is better to stay away. I buckled under the Yoda fan pressure and admitted to defeat this week. Time is really precious with the hamper packing next Wednesday with the charity group.

Hugs Eliza & Yoda
