What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 107

OK before the desk...or the shock, whichever you usually brace yourself for - I wanna talk briefly about my inability to get to everyone's desks on a Wednesday. It's the same reason as everyone else; time. Particularly since the Anniversary week, which is odd...I must be doing more, which is not odd, it's alarming! Anyway, what I'm saying is - expect me if you see me, huh! Meanwhile, I'm preparing workshop kits for Thursday....and to save angst and time, I'm even sort of choosing the buttons for the workshopeers. It will be quicker, and those that are coming who read this will be nodding in agreement I know!
Sadly this isn't early morning sun, I took the pic yesterday evening whilst feeling slightly panicked about the amount I have to do today! Today is already looking a bit dull, it's not boasting sunshine, to say the least. Oh well. The buttons aren't quite put away yet - but they will not be organised and colour seperated like this next time..really, I like them in a great big jar, and they take up less room in one container!

Whatever you're up to today, show us what the surface you work on looks like; put a pic on your blog and link us to it here with Mr Linky. That's it, no membership needed, dip in and out as life allows you to, and don't be too obviously promoting your goods or your next TV run.....a good blog will do that for you anyway. Share and enjoy.

good morning Mrs - I have fits and starts on how many desks I visit, sometimes its all of them, sometimes its quite a few, sometimes its embarrassingly few - that's cos life has to come first - You are our Queen, and the queen has many engagements and cant be expected to fit everything in!
Enjoy your workshops, hope they go well
(and we will also take into account that you have inkpad quandaries to worry about!)

Oooh, can I come sort your buttons please? I have mine in a big paint pot and I like nothing more than sitting and delving my hands into it... actually, I do love chocolate more but you know what I mean lol Have a fab workshop! x

I so love a beautiful jar of buttons, but it would drive me nuts looking for that certain button I wanted for a project. Guess I need to keep them a little more separate for pure laziness reasons! Take care and no reason to worry about visiting everyone...I mean you have to have a life right? LOL

Hi Julia, Don't stress! I have received my lovely Pif if you have a chance to come by. But, please do not feel frazzled about it all. I never have time to visit everyone. Just do what I can and you should do the same.

Good Morning WOYWW world! Wow, this is early for me. Changed my work hours, so I can post before I go to work- but I shan't be able to start visiting till after 5 tonight, so it will take me a few days to get around as many as I can.We all have so much to do, so we musn't get stressy over visiting- this is a joy, not a chore, Love to all Shaz

Back again, after a long absence and I missed that all important 2nd anniversary! The gifts looked amazing.

I think we're all the same - with such a large following, I can't get round to everyone either, and I usually dip in and out. Your desk is looking very tidy! xx

I start each week with the best of intentions, by commenting on all who have left comments (and a working link in the comment form) on my post. Then I try to work through the mr. Linky list to fill in the gaps of those who left comments but no blog link. Then I pop to the people I know, however marginally. THEN I try to work back from the end. Each week that process fails at dome point. But as you say, it isn't a requirement it's meant to be FUN, and you'll see me when you see me too. I do my best, but refuse to stress about it when life gets in the way. And with dd being home I'll for the last two days, Time is def. At a premium as she has never been the lid who sleeps all day when I'll....

Heya Girlie...
It's all about the overall vibe. You, Ms. Dunnit, have got it. No worries. If not today, then tomorrow or next week. Now..in the meantime...seems my very own daughter has got a similar something. Can you please scratch #27 since I will defer to #18 and always, always you are #1 (even if you don't say so...we all know it and love it and respect it ;)

Hi Julia

It's always a pleasure to see what is on your desk even if it is sorting buttons. I must admit a large glass jar full of buttons is a pretty sight.

Sylvia/LittleTreasures said...

Love buttons...but I agree I like them all in big jar..but lots of wasted time looking for that "ONE" perfect one or "TWO" that match.
Time..there just isn't any..flys by in a blink of the eye. My mind has way too many ideas to keep up. Happy WOYWW 107 Enjoy

I've never made it all the way through. I just try my best. The last time I was able to do the most I started at the beginning and then the end and then randomly... it's a wonderful thing you do and I love it when I am awake to participate!

Don't panic - you will be fine and organised! Love the bird tables below - might have to free machine a few of those. x Jo

Buttons are a non-essential for me, so all mixed up in one pot seems perfectly reasonable. Have fun at the workshop.

Hi Julia.
I realised early on I could never get round to all the desks so I just quickly whizz round to favourites but each week try to get to at leave five new ones; problem with that is they then become favourites too! But hey, we appreciate the fun that you have created !
Have a wonderful day and be blessed.

alexa said...

Gosh, that's huge dedication to your workshoppers! I hope they appreciate the time and effort it takes. I'd be surprised if any of us manage to see everyone's desk: I like nerllybird's idea of a system!

Gah! Darned blogger won't let me post photos again. I adore buttons, mine are in colour coded jars like rows of sweets in a shop. I've never gotten around all the desks either - there are too many! I visit everyone who visits me, my faves, and some new ones, and then see how I'm doing but then it is usually Wednesday again!
Enjoy the workshop.

Hoping to play today, if I remember to take the camera to the dungeon.

Feel a bit better knowing you don't make it round everyone Julia - is why I've not played for so long as feel bad if I don't get round to many people.

I do love nosying through peoples creative spaces though *g*

Hi Julia, love your photo today because I can't publish mine - blogger won't let me! I'll keep trying to add it to my post throughout the day but in the meantime my boring post is pictureless :( Love the evening lighting on your desk and the term 'workshopeers' will no doubt make it's way into the crafting dictionary now. Good luck with the workshop preparations and have a great week. Elizabeth x #74

No worries on not getting to everyone - I think as long as we all hit how ever many we can, we are in good shape! It's all about the fun! Those buttons look like fun!

J.A. Martin said...

It's too much pressure to try to get to EVERYONE! I try to visit a couple of new pages each week and answer anyone who visits mine and then return to my favorites - I'm not sure how many that equals, but I think I do my part! It's just so nice of you to host this shin-dig, you shouldn't stress over visiting! Thanks so much! :-)

Angie said...

I think it is so hard to reach everyone so I do the first 20-30 ...the last 5 ....those I feel are frieds ...and everyone who pops by mine that I have not already visited. If I have time I pop by a few new ones too.
Could not believe that I actually forgot it was Wednesday that why I'm No 95.lol xx

I too try to make it to all the desks, but have only managed a couple of times.
Thanks Julia, I tried to upload my photos to link today, but must be a glitch somewhere, will try again later.
Your desk is looking very organized and lovely

Unknown said...

Oh Julia, don't feel pressured to get to everyone, that would be a massive undertaking any week never mind on a regular basis.
I tend to try and get to those people who comment, or who I visit regularly anyway and then a random selection of people I've never come across before because it is always nice to visit new people. Some weeks I visit loads, some very few depending on life.

Unknown said...

Happy WOYWW. I tried to join in and had my pic ready and everything but Blogger just wont let me post pics today. So I'll endeavour to try again next week instead. Off to visit some desks now instead.... xx

I bet that desk looks different now after it's 5 min of tidiness! Smarty pants! I adore buttons and could play with them forever but how is it that however many you own you never have the perfect button when you need one!

Ooh I do love a jar of buttons. I made the mistake of lending my jar to my MIL so she could pick out some buttons for a jumper she was making. The whole jar ended up mixed in with her own tinful and I never saw them again. Boo hoo!

Hettie said...

I think we all have a problem with the same thing - Time! And work gets in the way too! I think we all have our own little system so do not fret - the fact that you host this at all is a bonus for us!! I am surprised my laptop isn't covered in flour most Wednesdays as I tend to go round whilst cooking dinner and checking on chickens!!!

I love jars with any type of crafting thing in them. It is like being in a museum wondering around looking at the amazing stuff. Love all the buttons.

My copy and paste didn't work correctly in the first link (110) if you can delete it.

Even though it’s lovely to have a visit from you Julia, it’s virtually impossible to get around everyone and I for one wouldn’t expect it anyway, so don’t beat yourself up about not making it around everyone. Not only that, it takes the fun away if you feel under pressure so I don’t even try any more. I now just visit those on the list who signed in on a number that ends the same as mine so if I’m 56 on the list I visit all those ending in 6….works for me!

Your desk is looking back to its old self and just look at all those gorgeous buttons. If you run out of storage space I could always take some of your hands for you!

Happy Crafting

My buttons are colour sorted but mislaid, so I had to restock at a charity shop. These are currently in one jar, a lovely mixture and I may just keep them that way.
My desk is full of art materials this week. The post explains why. And also why I also won't be visiting as many blogs as I would like to.
I'll catch up when I can though. Have a good week everyone!
