What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday? 106

This week, ladies, jellyspoons and interested parties, I have surpassed myself. Not an empty, shiny, clean anniversary desk for you to gaze upon in er, shock and awe. No sir. Nor a regular desk strewn with gifts. Nope. Not even a regular desk with the most amazing project upon it. Or - a regular desk with an interesting project that I've covered up for fear of you copying it - it's that good. (Ha ha!!) No. None of the above.

Today, there is no desk.

This is a scheduled post, and I'm writing to you from my friend's house on her teeny notebook, and I cannot tear the backside out of her hospitality by insisting on how to work out the uploading of photos. You see, the Internet, Chez Dunnit, is gorn, broken, kaput. It dropped off at about 4pm on Monday and it's apparently going to be fixed by tea time Wednesday. Oh yeah. Meantime, my whole life is in tatters. I suddenly need access to all of my favourite online locations, and even the bank. It's hideous. But oh my word, I've got quite a lot of other stuff done!

So, assume that Internet Chez Dunnit is fixed and that I will be gazing at more interesting desks than mine - upload a pic to your blog and link here so that others can pop round too. That would be nice. I think this may be a record for me; a photo-less post. Gives me the heebie jeebies, actually!

That is Major Panic Territory in my world. Despite giving myself a Pep Talk about rediscovering a Non-Internet existence, blah, blah, blah, it just does your head in and caused me a bigger mood swing than any hormonal surge! Hope it is all hunky-dory very soon.

Oooooh ... hope your internet comes good soon! I don't have 24/7 internet, only when I am at work and that's only a about three days per week. (Luckily one of them is Wednesday.) At home I can get a bit of computer time via DH's clever, oops, "smart phone". Sometimes I would like to have more time online but then I think I would never, ever, get anything done, ever ... seriously!

Oo-arrr! how horrid for you Julia going into withdrawals no doubt it is amazing how dependant we become upon it, huh!! any way can safely say this is the neatest desk I have not seen!! off to doctor's, will be back later to peek some more, happy WOYWW Shaz in oz.x

Oh dear... you do know that now you will realise just how much stuff you can get done when the computer is offline, don't you? On the plus side the effects don't take long to wear off!! ;)

A photoless post is better than no post at all. Hope you're all up and running again - it is really amazing though how much other stuff you can get done without computer access though!

Sarpreet said...

oh dear, normal services to resume. It feels weird when you loose your internet, what people did many years ago without it? I will never know. But I am not surprised you got lots of work done.

Well now, next week you'll have NO excuse for your desk .... it's GOT to be tidy with all the extra time freed up due to major internet malfunction. However it could all be a massive ploy to avoid showing the biggest mess ever this week???!!! Nah! I believe you, honest I do and can tell from the desperation of what you've written.
Looking forward to seeing next week's pic!

Oh what sad news. It's like having a body part that's not working. I've been backing up as my system is 5 yrs old and the fan is starting to make noises..It's like the world stops for a few days and your stress builds and builds.
I was so relieved to hear from Sally that she received my PiF.. She had the same problem, broken computer..I've posted my PiF gift to her but maybe she's got hers up and running now.
Thanks for the fun. Good Luck.

Yup, we all surely would get a lot more done w/o the internet. I don't really think computers save us all THAT much time, lol. (But I wouldn't voluntarily give mine up!)

Hopefully all will be up and running at your house again soon.
