What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 584

It’s not a heatwave apparently, because it isn’t consistently affecting every part of the country. I do love it, and I will miss it, but the humidity is starting to make me think it’s time for a thunderstorm and a 15 degree temperature drop! I hope if you’re in any hot part of the world that you’re comfortable and well. I have done a lot of paperwork this week, but not of the craft variety. Staying in the shade, see.
But I did make time to tidy and take a long shot yesterday afternoon.
Here’s a marvellous angle, a long shot of clean and tidy! (Well except for the scraps tray, it’s getting away from me again!) I absolutely have to make a start on something, not sure what yet, but I’m leaning towards Christmas stuff. Just because any minute now I’m going to turn around and it will be September and there will be demand for workshop kits and I want to be on top of it. Famous last words. Watch this space. All of those sayings apply. So what are you up to? Show and tell please, usual way......thanks so much.

I can't sleep in this weather so am linking and going back to bed.... it's local heatwaves though I heard them say and certainly is here - been over 30 for days and over 20 at night ...yuck!
your desk looks very neat ad tidy but I couldn't be doing Christmas stuff in this heat (let's face it, can't do anything much in this heat) it has to be cold for me to tackle Christmas!

Good morning Julia, that's a very nice shady spot in the corner of the garden I could see you sat there with a morning cuppa, thanks so much for the great angle what a nice clean desk.. tis ready and waiting.
Mr Weather man told me it was a heat wave.. it's hot hot hot here even the 5 minute thunder storm didn't clean the air last night. Hoping for that drop in temperature they promised next week, lets keep every crossed eh!?

Love your tidy desk and garden view, quite delightful. Saw some ball lights on TV the other day and thought of you. They look great from this angle btw. Curious as to the orange shaped thing on the green lid of the box in the foreground though???
As for the heat I am really struggling and looking forward to Autumn!!! BJ#6

I was woken by the storms yesterday, especially by the enormous clap of thunder that seemed directly overhead at one point. It does seem a little cooler this morning Julia, but not 15 degrees. How lovely that you can open the bifold doors wide to work! Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #9

HI Julia, that is indeed a lovely shot of your desk, it must feel almost like crafting in the garden when you can have it all open like that. At the moment, I am moving from one side of the house to the other as the day goes on, just to stay as cool as possible, and whatever I'm doing goes with me! Have a happy WOYWW-day :) Annie C #11

It sounds like many of us are suffering with the heat. We had thunderstorms last night but it’s no better this morning sadly. We have a fan on at night to keep our room a bit cooler but at times it just seems to circulate the hot air lol.
Hugs,

A lovely shot of your clean and tidy desk with the garden beyond! Those light blobs always take my eye - I have almost bought similar sets in the past! I do Christmas all year round - it's the only way I don't go manic in November...

Crafting outside - brilliant idea! Although whenever I've tried it everything went flying around in the wind, but it's great for activities that don't involve bits of paper. I've got one of those black carts on order from Hobbycraft - might be delivered today - I'll just have to decide where to fit it in (but at £28 I couldn't resist, considering my Ikea one cost £50 and they look pretty much the same thing)! Happy summer crafting, Julia! xx

Morning Julia! I'm back! I love the sunshine but definitely not the humidity. Blue skies and 22/24 degrees all year would suit me just fine. My desk was that tidy once I believe. I can't believe how the year is flying - get out that Christmas stash!! Cindy xx

There’s been thunderstorms and floods in the Lake District but we managed to dodge them by a day.
Lovely to get a peep at your garden Julia. I’m meeting up with another Julia today (socially distanced of course) then back home for my birthday celebrations. Even if people after to chuck presents and cards over the gate I’ll still enjoy it. Take care and have a good week.

Oh My, that is a tidy workdesk, especially for you Julia. Love how your room is open out onto the garden, is that a sliding door?
Please do not wish a thunderstorm on yourself if the one I experienced is anything to go by. In all my years I have never known anything like it. Talk about rain! And then the lightening just lit the whole room as it crept under the curtains. At one point when it thundered, or was it lightening that did it, the whole caravan shook. Just the once, but it really did and even Chas felt it.
You can have them down there but I don't want any more where I am, thank you. Be careful what you wish for Julia.
Stay safe and well
Hugs, Neet 8 xx,

Hi Julia it's been hitting 30 up here too, and it seems like everyone had a good old thunderstorm last night, apart from us. Doubly hard for me `at the moment, as I don't do well in the heat, not enough oxygen in the air. I struggle a lot more when it's hot, I do much better in cooler weather.
Good job on the tidy desk, indeed, Christmas will be here before we know it. You'd have thought with all the quarantining and lockdowns this year would have dragged along, but nope, it's flying past. Love and hugs to you both, hope you're staying safe, Shaz #4 X

ooo That is a very tidy desk. Looks like you have lots of fresh air around you too. I LOVE Summer and sunshine- my fav time of the year but not a bit fan of the hot nights especially having hot flushes too. I am sure it will all be gone soon so I am not complaining. I hate dark cold nights . Have a great week. soojay xx

One tidy desk. Know what you mean about the heat it has gone on for weeks here so must be a heatwave. My aircon in the bedroom wouldn;t work last night and the temperature was 31C. I am dreading my electricity bill this month. Hope you have a cooler week. Ani

Glorious photo of your desk!!! I love all the windows looking out into green space. Your desk is looking mighty clean too! I cleaned mine last weekend and trying to keep it that way but we know what will happen once I start another crafty project. The heat and humidity here are so old. I am tired of feeling blah and unmotivated to move. I know it is August but this kind of heat was here in July so I think I can complain for at least another week. The temps are supposed to go down on Friday so I will wait as patiently as I can. I placed the Totoe bread recipe in today's' post so you can try it. I usually reduce the amount of both sugars. You might have to try it a few times to get it just right. But it's so easy to make with little ingredients that it isn't a bother to make. I plan on doing another cleanse in September. I haven't done one in a long time but I think my body needs a break. I hope you are feeling better. I didn't make it to desks last week so I am going to try to squeeze in a few now and then more tomorrow. Stay well and enjoy your lovely view. Can't wait to see what you decide to work on next!

Lovely desk, Julia! Will you be able to find all of the things you so carefully put away?
Yes, Christmas will be here before we know it. I hope I am able to complete all of the projects I have in mind, and actually started, no really, started! Stamped some for one, die cut for another... naturally rather than just finishing one before the other!

Stay well!
Happy Wednesday!

Very tidy desk Julia! I don't think I could ever take such a shot of my desk. I have also decided it is time for the Christmas cards! Ha, ha I hope I can manage at least one!

Hi Julia, just popping in to say hello. Don't go looking for a desk post from me - it's not there. Because, although Alan is on the mend and my nursing duties are easing a bit, I still have to steal time to do what crafting I can. I will though, just as soon as I think I'll have the time to leave/return comments, otherwise it's not fair. It's hot here too, i.e. by our expectations, but so far we've not suffered the storms that the they've been having over on the east of the country. Have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth xx

The surgery will be ARTHROSCOPIC CAPSULAR RELEASE so I guess a tweak.
Thanks for suggesting the questions. I didn't really ask enough at the appointment as I was so damn hot and the mask was making me worse. I have emailed the surgeon's secretary today so the ball is rolling.

Yes to hidden journalling it's on the tag behind the left photo of me.
Bit cooler today but fan still on full blast in my room!!

Nice to see a different angle on your desk this time, Julia, and how tidy it is too! Thank you for visiting. Glad you like my tiny carpets. I agree - I think the fringe stitching is worth doing. As for the face shield, the tassels aren't any more distracting than having something over my face in the first place, but at least it's a better alternative than a mask.

Happy belated WOYWW,

Hi Julia! Thank you for your lovely comment! And yes, hopefully I will be able to post a pic of me in my M of the Bride dress, I just need some shoes! Hubby and I actually went for a short walk this morning, it was so great having him walk with me again! Thanks again for your support, it's so wonderful having this group! Lindart #26
