Quick, While I'm in the mood..

So, this week I seem to have been busy squaring up and finishing off some autumnal works of art - oh, OK then, call them cards.  And all the time, I'm in the mood to make a few Christmas cards.  Why does that happen?  I do not know.  But it gets in the way of what I'm meant to be doing. Or rather it doesn't, but it makes me impatient to move on.  To this end, I've finished, tidied (really - even cleaned a whole overflowing basket of stamps) and started on a few Christmas ideas.  The card above is not a product of today's snatched desk time.  No.  It's one I made for an event earlier this month, and which, if you're coming to the WOYWW Crop, you can make tomorrow.  You can see how simple it is.  So anyway, back to today.  I've had a couple of ideas rolling around in my head for single layer cards to help the old 'quantity making' along.  I spent ages and wrecked about 5 cards before I even got the idea from my head to a card, let alone before it started to look familiar as the idea I started with. But, these snags have not diminished my enthusiasm for the job at hand. Yet.  Maybe that's because I'm so busy that I'm falling into that 'give a busy woman another job and she'll make time to do it' category.  Maybe I'm starting to feel that inevitably, my attention must turn toward this Season.  Maybe I'm scared that I'll get left behind.  Or maybe, just for once, it's because with no immediate deadline or reason for making them, I'm feeling like having a bit of fun.  Gawd,  I'll be using glitter in a minute!
Have a super weekend.

I sort of see where you are comming from ...remove the stress of having to make and then having fun takes over and you feel liberated. Maybe I should start to think like that.
Have an amazing weekend ...I know everything will go to plan ...cant wait to see photos. xx

Good idea to have one layer cards - saves me mucking up the straight mounting which I cannot do for toffee.

Hugs to all

I dont like linking if cannot do justice to ones who come have fun at the crop ah that is redundant you WILL have fun! Shaz in oz.x

Hi Julia, lovely card :-) Yes keep it simple is the way to go to do a batch of cards, though I don't usually follow my own advice. I always think I'll just do one or perhaps two designs but once I get started I can't help but try other things. A couple of months ago I did do a couple of very simple birthday cards so will try the same type of design for some Christmas cards. Go on girl, you need a bit of glitter for the festive season haha

I came to visit on Friday, and just as I was about to leave a comment on your Day of the Girl post, a storm took out my electricity. I've had one bugger of a week!!

I don't know what it is about cards that come from other countries, like yours and Tertia's for example, but square cards mailed from the States require extra postage. That is why we seldom make ours square. However, I love the simplicity of this card, although I wouldn't call it "simple," since the embossing alone takes time and patience. And cutting those stars must have been FUN (joke!).

You made a comment about my stamping of the journal pages. I HAVE to wait to stamp because I don't know where the "empty" spaces will be until I finish a page. Sometimes I can sew on both sides of a page and the sewing doesn't interfere with either side. Sometimes, I must leave a blank spot on one side of the page, and add the stamped image(s) once I have finished a bunch of pages.

I nearly forgot. I hope the crop was as much fun as WOYWWers seemed to think it would be. I hope to attend one someday!!

Glitter??? You'll be 'grunging' next using that "aweful wee wee colour" - sorry if I've slightly mis-quoted you lol...

I USED to be the same... so busy that if anyone gave me a brush I'd stick it...... and sweep the floor! Hope you get some more time to play - fun things come of it!

Hope you had a lovely time yesterday at the crop. Hope you got pics.

hugs
