What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 775

This week's edition brought to you by some sun and almost relentless heavy showers, and on a Tuesday afternoon, which isn't very Wednesday at all is it! I have to be up and at it on Wednesday morning so this is scheduled. There is a silver lining, I think. Whilst I was waiting for month end paperwork to sync and print, I tidied a bit! I made a few LOs at the Crop over the weekend. I've stopped dragging my file full of alphabets to every crop. It's a ridiculous number of alpha stickers, most of which don't have enough vowels for matching font words, so I gave myself permission to bring untitled LOs home and decide if they need a title or not when I unpack. So that's what I do now, and it hasn't bothered anyone and my scrapbook world hasn't caved in. Amazing what 'rules' you set yourself isn't it. So and anyway, that accounts for the middle pile. At left of the LO is a pile of mismatched paper napkins. Waiting for some decoupage action. Don't hold your breath....am fairly sure that they'll be re-homed reasonably soon, not sure my desk can take many more 'pending' projects! And at the right is the result of bit of a splurge last week...some projects to contemplate and a couple new stamps and some new coloured embossing powders. Nice.
Please also be super impressed that the gold foil of Easter egg chomping is still in the tray at the back...and it still has some chocolate in it!
Share and tell please, make my lunch break less work and more craft!

I have chocolate egg left too, but it's a shame that yours is sat in the window and hasn't melted... says it all about the weather we've been having! The layout looks great, hope you find enough letters for a title - set another rule and make a title from mis-matched font stickers! Hope you enjoy your new goodies soon! Happy WOYWW Helen #1

Ooh nice layouts and yes i know what you mean re the letters, surpised no one sells pages of vowels, but then i suppose the typeface, size and colours matter too (think i just realised why no one sells them, lol!) Impressed by the egg open and still there, i have some left BUT they are stuffed away for eating later in the year (as still have a half eaten one in the kitchen!).

I love to see LOs as they seem such a beautiful way to display your photos. I need to sort out my boxes of photos! x x Jo

Totally aware of the "rules" we impose on ourselves and so glad you have taken command and stepped free of one. Loving the doily page for a super cake, the pictures speak for themselves don't they. Nice to see some desk too but cannot comprehend any chocolate being left at this stage, but there again hubby has some too whereas mine are chomped in one sitting! Hugs BJ#6

As for the letters, I'd try the mismatched idea Helen suggests although sometimes I have cut down other letters to make different ones. A lowercase "e" is difficult but lowercase "a i o u" all possible. Just a thought, BJ#6

It's sunny the rules we make ourselves follow isn't it? Love the LO and I agree with others about using mismatched letters....no one would know it wasn't intended ;-)

Mismatching letters must be the only option at times as there are always some that get used more than others. I used to convince myself when I first went to the craft club that I needed to take loads of stuff and then never used them, it's crazy what we do. Wishing you a very happy woyww, Angela x7x

Alphabet stickers! OMG. I have been sorting, and I have an obscene amount. I got a deal on some magazine holders, and have been sorting them into colour families. That way I figure I might be able to use similar colours together. SOMEWHERE, years ago, I saw an article about how to convert letters to other letters - like cut off the tail on a Q to make an O - but have no idea where to find it now. I must say your desk is really quite tidy! How unlike ... most of us LOL!
Happy WOYWW!

Oh I spy that balloon dog on your desk. So cute!! Like you I am becoming more circumspect about what I lug around with me to crafty meets, As for alphabets - I think I'm still waiting for you to come up with a way to use all the weird consonants and odd vowels that are left in my stash. Also trying not to have all those 'pending' projects hanging around but I'm afraid that out of sight will be out of mind. Hope your day is not too busy and you manage some crafty desky downtime. Sun here this morning.... Have a great week, love n hugs, Cindy xx #10

Not only with stickers bsut with alphabet die sets too - if only they would put more of some of the vowels in it would help not make as many runs. Still, I guess they box clever and do it so I buy two sets of letters.
Could you not use all your letters scattered about higgledy piggledy to look like a frenzy when you have something siilar to that in your mind.
Its raining up north, never does anything else these days. Enjoy the glimpses of sun when you get them.

So glad you’ve given yourself permission for untitled layouts and that you could enjoy your weekend anyway.
It used to seem that climate change would make it hotter but it’s so much wetter. There was even a flood here in 2000, despite our 103m altitude (high for Kent), though our house was protected by the depth of the Nailbourne running through our side of the village. Our cricket pitch is a lake again today.
Stay dry and happy WOYWW

Having been recently diagnosed with diabetes I have been cutting down on chocolate. I had a discussion with my husband while we were away saying that I needed to take diabetes more seriously than I was doing, he agreed. When he did the shopping Monday he bought me dark chocolate Kit Kats, Fudge cookies - I can’t win! Happy WOYWW. Angela #4

Hello Julia, it's way past lunch and I'm so late. Hopefully, you'll get time to craft again later. The layout is lovely and I do like the cute balloon dog stamp too. Having a drawer full of alphas, many of them without vital vowels, I think your new rule, or should that be your broken rule, is understandable. If I ever attend a crop again, I'll be leaving my alphas behind too. You've given me permission! Hugs, Elizabeth x #14

PS: I didn't have one chocolate egg this Easter. I'm not allowed. Sigh.

We enjoyed a loud spring thunderstorm last night after a lovely day of 20° temps! Inky loves sitting in the window watching the lightning. Your desk looks very tidy compared to mine! I think I know what I have to do today! Looking at your layout of the Potato Cake, it looks like there are actual potatoes on top of the cake! That can't be, can it? I have one chocolate Easter Bunny left to chomp on. Today may be his last day...
I agree with mixing and matching alphabet letter stickers. I have a lot as well, but prefer using my letter stamps because I don't run out of anything! Have a wonderful week, Lindart #15

Oho I spy a little balloon dog die, how loverly! But I don't see the chocolate, are you kidding us, you've eaten it, haven't you! Potate cake?? Hmm...that could be really nice, I think! Have a great WOYWW!?#((Lyn)) #16

Yay - hello!

Just sliding in under the wire, UK time :D

Like everyone else, love the balloon dog stamp - that's very cute! I totally get the alphabet sticker problem. That's where alphabet stamps or a Cricut/Silhouette come in handy.

(insert applause) well done on not eating all the chocolate egg.... but don't leave it too long, warmer days are eventually coming.
