What’s on your Workdesk? Wednesday 617

Sunshine! Oh my word how lovely a day was yesterday. I understand today will be too, before things plummet back to seasonally cold! I photographed my desk yesterday, about 4.30pm. I remembered on Monday that I’d committed to a scrapbook challenge. I remembered because I had for once displayed sense and set a thingy to email me when the Challenge was posted. It was a shock on two counts. One that the thingy setting worked, and two that I needed to clear up a bit. So, well, I moved some pens and made a pile of the ink pads that were strewn about.
What you can see is the leftovers of the scrapbook page. It’s a Rainbow challenge, and the first colour was Green. Bit of an ‘argh’, but I’ve done it. Will show you when I’m allowed to. Meanwhile, I just sort of carried on without clearing up. No surprise, huh. I’m having a lot of fun stamping Francoise’s and Janet’s lovely houses onto scraps and then paper piecing them. Paper piecing isn’t something I have done a lot of, for reasons of patience, but I can’t resist these. See that large black and white pouch at the far end? That’s my new pencil case. It’s got ‘pages’ in, with elastic hoops for 64 pens. I’ve filled it. I didn't think I would, specially as I’ve squashed two pens into one elastic on many of the pages. It holds my most used brush pens and all of my journaling pens. Already proving useful, but quite large! So that’s me, how about you? Show it, tell it and share it here please! Edit: you aren’t seeing things, the week number is correct. It wasn’t, but it is now. It’s a fat finger problem.

Weird. Once again, I was popping in to see if you had posted other than on Weds. and here was a post. Wrong number, but it seems right. It WAS a love day, we even ate dinner out in the garden. So now I’ve linked I’d better make the post live, or what’s the point? Lol! Looking forward to desk hopping in the morning when everyone else is ready!

Happy Woyww.

What a gorgeous day it’s been ,we had the kitchen patio doors open all day! Love that bright zesty green paper, it’s not a colour I associate with you so it’ll be interesting to see the challenge page when you’re allowed to share. Nice pencil case, I’m not surprised it’s stuffed already!

Hi Julia, I was just getting the blog link and was amazed to see you had already posted! I have two of those pencils cases, one for my watercolour pencils and one for my colour and graphite pencils. I did have the wraps before that and I was always picking up the wrong one. Sitting in the garden was lovely and I hope we get to do it again later. Enjoy your challenge and look forward to seeing the finished article x Happy WoYWW and Happy Easter Angela #5

Yes, you did confussed me (Confuse Dot Com)Had to check I hadn't up loaded an old WOYWW coz I've done that before.
Those little housed look really cute. I have some, meaning I have little houses drawn on some freebie papers that I've been meaning to 'do something with' I'll wait til I see yours first! Have fun with your challenge. Stay Safe Happy WOYWW!? ((Lyn)) surprisingly #6

I wrote my post early so didn't check again before bed..lovely to see the sun across your desk - we went to sit in the park for a couple of hours yesterday at work! We probably won't have time today though (last day of the month is always busy pushing for targets lol) your pencil case is fab, and keeps them all in one place, nice!

Well I do love that you are semi organised at least Julia. The new pencil case and alarm email idea are great. Look forward to seeing the rainbow pages when you can share them. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #9

Oh my life, how many pens? As with stamps, I'm not a pen person either so I just can't imagine it - LOL, lovely case though and so organised.
So glad you did the timer setting thingy. I use my alarm and timer on my phone ALL the time plus reminders in my calendar on my phone too. Couldn't exist without technology helping me as I'd be off with the fairies otherwise! Nothing would get done, the washing would remain in the machine, the empty bins would remain outside all week (like our new neighbours - LOL I did suggest they use a phone reminder but hey hoe...) WOYWW on a Wednesday.
Loving the green paper and paper piercing, not done that in ages, so many things to do. BJ#13

I’m not one to choose to work with greens but I think it does us good to work out of our comfort zone at times and I’m sure you’ve done a great job. Have a fun week.

It's a beautiful thing to see sunshine stream through our windows it starts my day off just fine. Your pencil case looks and sounds like a handy bit of kit a garden companion maybe? I love outdoor creativity & you are so close to yours, i'd wheel that table right out the door. The rainbow challenge sounds cheerful, routine and alarms certainly help keep me running smoothly.
Hope you get to enjoy more sunshine today..
Thank you for hosting, Happy WoywW & Easter too Hugs Tracey #7 xx

Ahhh the gorgeous false spring! I'm having to resist putting my greenhouse seeds out because I know the cold is coming back again. LOVE that pencil case - would the elastics be wide enough for Promarkers? I've just bought one that will hold 108 of them but it's not half as funky as yours. Can't wait to see the page - I love that green but I know it's not your fave! Stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #3

Ooh, Janet's little houses, how delightful, but I haven't seen the ones by Francois, we need a close up.
I have a huge pink pencil case with several pages but you can only fit one pencil in each elastic. It is very useful and I think it is about time I bought another now I have several Inktense pencils - rather than them in three tins.
You enjoy the sunshine, I reckon you two lovebirds can have a lovely anniversary celebration in the garden, or even on a rug in the lounge.
Hugs to you both

I love that vibrant green paper-I have been using the same colour as the background for bunting this week! The pencil case sounds a great idea although I have boxes of the blimmin things and decant what I need when I go to a class (Remember those days?) Happy Easter weekend and fingers crossed for dry weather.

Hi Julia, it's lovely to see the sun shining on your desk and that paper is a gorgeous green so vibrant. You've made me think that I should turn out all the colouring pens I have collected over the years and find out what still works, I am quite disgusted with myself that I don't use them more often but I think I have been tempted over the years by new stuff! Hope you enjoy your paper piecing and have a lovely Easter too. Angela x21x

Sunshine is such a cheering thing Julia, certainly brightens the heart as well the outlook! Good that you still get it like your previous desk as it certainly makes life more cheery and crafting easier to good ambient light!

Well done on setting a reminder and acting upon it! The first is easy, second quite difficult! Love green myself, but I like most colour but nit keen on orange, except in sunsets etc.. that lime green goes nicely with turquoise I found out the other day .. when making a card. I like colour discoveries! Great desky share though, hope to do better at commenting this week, have one hour before must get ready for bed! Now if I could be brief! That would help!

Thanks for Sharing, God bless and keep you safe, and all those you love, hugs Shaz in Oz.x

Wasn't it lovely yesterday? We had wall to wall sunshine too and leaves appeared on the trees suddenly! This is the kind of sunshine I do enjoy - I wish we could bottle the mid-summer scorching sun and distribute it over the course of the year. Well done for meeting the challenge - I find all these challenges good for giving us focus and a boost when we need it. Happy WOYWW and Happy Easter! xx zsuzsa #22

Love, the sunshine streaming in!! I know you guys love it when it does actually shine!!! We get MORE than our fair share of sunshine in Georgia. It's not JUST sunshine....it's BLAZING!!! Therefore, we covet the rain!! Thankfully we have had a good bit going into our "sort of" spring, so hopefully, that will put us in the rights for summer planting. I didn't use to be a "green" fan but have started really enjoying it as an adult. Good luck on your layout! I love your pen case!! Mine are EVERYWHERE!!! Nice to have a central spot for your "fave" ones and I love the pattern of it as well!!! Happy Wednesday and Easter to you!! Blessings, Felicia #25

Good Morning Julia, that is a cool pencil case :) When ever there is a color that I don't really reach for first like in a challenge I tend to ink over them hahaha. or use tiny amounts of it, so I am also curious to see what you are going to do with that bright green :) it does look ready for spring though, Stacy #26

I love paper piecing. LOL Isn't that funny how some people love some things and others do not. I love that pen bag, I bet it's great for moving your pens from place to place. Have a wonderful week! Dorlene #30

Pretty papers, Julia. I love your pencil case - perhaps next time you could show us some closer pics of it and what it looks like inside? I've got a great big one for all my pens - not nearly as neat and compact as yours. I also have a very sweet little fabric zip-up pouch for my interchangeable circular knitting needles and because I haven't got the whole set, half of it is used for scissors, needle case and other accoutrements needed for both knitting and crochet projects. I had a friend (now sadly died from cancer several years ago) who used to tease me endlessly about my fetish for "wee baggies"! I often think of her when I'm using them.

Thank you for your visit - yes, kitty throw coming along nicely! I'm so enjoying each stage. I love the paw prints, too! They are really fun to make, and don't take long at all. I have decided I must finish the Purple Circles before I begin on the Persian Tiles, but like you, I am looking forward very much to the start of that project.

Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi #20
