What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 577

Please be keeping well, and looking forward. It’s going to be a lovely summer. If you need company, please reach out, we could set up a group chat if you’d like to spend an hour at your desk so that you can chat and erm, work. Seriously, don't be without company - as you can see, I’ve a lot of colouring to do.
I spent a happy hour stamping and embossing these images over the weekend. The idea was to then scan them, so my Scan and Cut machine could cut them out for me - all that fussy cutting! Well, I cant get the machine to recognise the scanning mat, so after a bit of a tantrum, I’m doing that thing - walking away from it and thinking when I go back and try again, it will have magically sorted itself. Believe me, it doesn’t need a good talking to, I have already done that! All the stamps you see laid out and propped up are new to me. The gnomes and the girls are a direct result of a WOYWW post from Soojay about a month ago. I can’t even lay ‘blame’ on her, it’s been so long since I was moved to buy new stamps just for fun! You can see that my Tri-Blend pen collection is growing nicely. I really like them, far more than any others ‘felt tips’ I’ve had.  So now, before I bore you rigid, lets see the colour of your desks then! Please put WOYWW in your post title and link it here, as usual. Thanks, you’re special.

That is a serious colouring challenge you have there! I hope you sort your Scan and Cut to cut them for you, I would grow bored with cutting that many out!!

Morning Julia. Oh my! That's some task you have set yourself there - hope your Scan n cut gets its act together to do the cutting for you. Many thanks for the parcel - a letter is on its way!
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

I hate to say but the direct cut feature is about the only one I use on my Scan N Cut Julia. I find that it doesn't like heat embossed lines very much though. Good luck getting yours to work. I don't use the special scan mat, just the usual cutting one and hit direct cut mode. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #7

The gnomes made me laugh! That's a pain about the Scan and Cut though, like owning a dog and having to bark yourself....

Morning Julia, first time me being number 1 and I put the wrong link! All fixed now. I do love colouring, please don't tempt me with any more pens! I have to confess I don't use my Scan & Cut half as much as I should do, mainly as I don't know how to. I think that can be my next challenge to myself! Have a lovely week and stay safe, hugs Heather #5

Still thinking about purchasing a scan and cut, but hear so many conflicting comments about it. You must have patience to cut all those little figures out. Are we going to see the finished cards? Have a good week. Ani

All sounds very technical to me this morning Missus.
I will say though that you are wonderful keeping us all together like this. You’re playing a wonderful part in this most trying of times.
Hope you get that thingymebob sorted

Love that pile of cut out gnomes (?)
I have called again - I was delighted with all the lovely comments I received last week.
Happy Colouring!

That's a lot of images! I am intrigued as to what is going to happen to all those little gnomes!! Give the scanning mat a good clean over the dot area? The scan n cut is so useful - Daughter wanted a big 'C' the other day for a project, think she was quite impressed that I did that in like two minutes - but I don't use it so much lately so I forget how to do everything. And it is very frustrating when it refuses to recognise a mat. Hope you get it sorted as it would make life easier. Oh, and I'd be up for a group chat if you do organise one. Stay safe, stay well, Cindy #10

Not sure if I will make my trip to Kew now, just been reading the guidance on their website and it says don't visit yet if you have to use public transport...now do I go and lie if they ask me how I got there or cancel......

Oh my, I think I'll leave all the stamping and colouring to you, good job. As for the cutting out thingy, what's one of those anyway LOL. My boring repetitive job for this week is to select and order more photos, might try to do as much of 2019 as I can handle... BJ#15

I hope you get your machine sorted out soon - fussy cutting will certainly get tedious in those sort of quantities. Loving the new stamps - the gnomes are very cute and new stamps always lift the spirits.
Have a lovely week,

Daren't try out those pens as I have quite a few copics already. I have an extra stamp ( stupidly bought two) of the girl with her paw prints. If you email me your address, i post it to you xx sooejay@gmail.com

Scan and cut sounds like a good idea - would save me from making "little errors" in my cutting!! I also think Tri colours sound like fun. Good luck with your colouring - quite relaxing, I imagine. xx Jo #18

Lovely new stamps and I’m fond of a bit of colouring in! My late friend had a scan and cut and I was always fascinated by it working. Hope you can get it working. Catriona

I'm not a lover pf fussy cutting but sometimes it can be a relaxing hobby when you have no where to go but stay at home Lol! those little guys are adorable but like you I have tries not to buy any more stamps though I do have some of the earlier ones of those. The new pens look good too. I have bought some in the past and just been so disappointed with them. Enjoy your self and have a lovely woyww, Angela x19x

I've just spotted your impressive collection of scissors, Julia, so if all else fails you can always hand cut those pesky images! The good thing about old fashioned methods is that they never fail, although I can totally see the appeal in having them cut by a machine. I hope to be back today though I have yet to put a post together. I love how WOYWW is a constant in our lives and even when we stray it's right there waiting for us. And of course I realise that WOYWW is actually you Julia, though I like to think of it as a separate entity in its own right LOL! Hope you're keeping well - you're quite right, I would like to think it's going to be a lovely summer, too, despite everything - or perhaps because of it if we can find the silver lining. xx

I love those gnomes! I'm not a stamper as you know but I do love those quirky girly ones I've seen about. I've never tried the scanning and cutting facility on the Cameo because I could never get the darn thing to work with images within the software, let alone ones it had to find itself. I do like the look of those pens - I rather like ones that can't roll away! You might have inspired me to get my promarkers out! Have a great week lovely lady, Lisa-Jane #14

Oh, I love all the stamps. What a great thing you are doing with them. I never had a cutting machine, I think, I might be happy to get one, but I am not sure, neither have room for it. Hehe.
I know the situation with using new things. Sometimes I might not even get anything done with them, oh dear. Sometimes I only use them once. Bad me lol.

It is great to be here each week. Thank you, Julia
Thank you so much for sharing!

Happy WOYWW

My sympathy vibes are being sent your way. I have had my own struggles with technology and no matter what they say it is not intuitive unless you were born in the 21st century. Love the gnomes enjoy your colouring.

Hi Julia, another one who hates fussy cutting, not tried using my Silhouette for it yet though, but one of these days. Loving the images, and the colouring too. Reminding me I have some Gnome stamps, in fact I think I've got a couple of sheets of them.Heard a lot of good things about the Tri Blend pens, but have got so many others, I just can't! Stay safe, Love & hugs to you both, Shaz #5 XxXxXx

Hi Julia! Your desk is so full of colour! It must be very satisfying to colour and cut out all those pieces, just waiting for cards and other places to go! I love the gnomes! Have a wonderful week, I apologize for my blogpost this week being so very long, but I couldn't find another way to share my journal! Lindart #29

You never bore anyone! The scan and cut can be a tricky monster. I have just got the automatic blade one which I am hoping will solve a lot of my problems. I guess you have tried cleaning the mat edge? What I find the most frustrating is when don’t understand why something is not working. It’s like I have done everything right (or hope I have) so work! Good luck with sorting it x Angela possibly #30

It is so funny how great brains think alike. I am fussing about fussy cutting in my post today! I do have a pixma mat for my silhouette that is supposed to do the same thing as your print and cut but no, I have never figured how to calibrate the mat!! One day I will figure it out. In the meantime, I have been forking over the cash for coordinating dies lately and although they are pricey I realize my fussy cutting skills are rubbish. I have fallen in love with your gnomes. I just might have to purchase some. Usually, I pass them by but yours are so cute. Soojay is in trouble for sharing them and you're in trouble for showing them today! I am a sucker for stamps. Always have been. I have now moved out on my deck to type and snoop. It's lovely this morning. Only because rain is on the way so it will keep the temps down a little. Yesterday I felt like I needed to shower all day. After snooping I am going to take some time today to read. Hopefully on the deck before the rain. I hope you are well and you can keep sharing your goodies, even if it is helping me empty my bank account!!!
hugs,

Hi Julia, I am totally impressed with the number of images you are coloring and cutting at once. WOW the gnomes look so cute :) I bet it will be fun to have a selection to poke through as you use them up. I hope you get the machine figured out because, that girl I think would make my eyes cross and my fingers cramp to cut with scissors so many of her that is. :) ~Stacy #32

Don't know what happened to my mammoth comment but I got up out of the chair (in the garden) and I caught a button, panicked, as always, and sent another comment which I then deleted when I saw the previous one had not printed. So I will start again.
Lovely to see all those images on your desk and see you fell in love with them when you saw Soojay's little book. I was so in love with it too! I really wanted to make a book myself but couldn't see me using those stamps for other things so thought it a bit of an expensive single project.
Then my bff offered to let me have her 10% off and use it on a website that had them on offer. Well, as usual I dillied and dallied until the offer was over. I decided it was not meant to be. Watch this space - they might fall in my basket one day!
Anyway, I am glad you like fussy cutting, I do too, but if I had a Scan & Cut I might not be saying that. My bff has one and does marvellous things with it. Her son did a` degree in computer programming or something so he helps out when she gets stuck. My brain is too old now so I just use my scissors.
Not tried the TriBlends but I have so many colouring things I dare not buy any more. You just enjoy yours.
Lovely thought about the "chit chat club" - wonder if we could have a little group on one of those apps that lets you all chat together. Ah well, will leave it there but you two stay safe and well

I love the gnomes in particular... I hate fussy cutting though. I hope that you manage to get the scan and cut to work properly. I find it so frustrating when technology doesn't do what it is supposed to. I love the idea of a chit chat club - a zoom chat would be wonderful! Thank you so much... my card arrived today. It was so kind and thoughtful of you. I think both Alex and I are counting down to the holidays! Happy WOYWW. Stay safe and take care of yourself. With love & God Bless, Caro xx

Happy WOYWW (just got here!). Hope that you did get the Scan n Cut to 'scan n cut'! I am yet to experiment with print & cut with the Cricut. It doesn't scan, but you can put a design into the software. I am really enjoying my colouring lessons and have found so many wonderful colouring pages/books that are freebies via Instagram. Will show some of them next week. Ali x #35

I just looked up the 'tri-blend pens' (had not heard about that before) - sounds awesome but I warn myself right now: "you color too little to buy those just because 'they sound nice'" (spoken sternly) It's a lot of work to cut out all those images, I hope you get the machine to work! Stay safe dear, it was on the news that there are all kinds of 'parties' in London - in HOlland, a lot of people are tired of the distance-rule too and come together, it's rather scary! Enjoy at home and have a lovely weekend! Marit #28

Thank you for your visit, Julia - I think another 25 years in the box for that jumper would definitely have finished me off! After all the work I'd put in, I wasn't about to give up. It certainly involved a lot more work than I'd expected, but then one of my mottos is "everything takes longer than you think" lol!

It looks as if you've got quite a production line on your desk this week. Lots of lovely colour. Sorry you've been having trouble with the technology, though. I am not familiar with your machine and wouldn't know where to start with it. I presume the collection of hexagonal things on the right in your picture are the pens you mentioned? They look very interesting and an attractive design. I must look them up - not that I shall be buying any (probably! - never say no!) because I recently invested in quite a lot of Tombow ones.

Happy belated WOYWW,

ooh hope your scan and cut did work otherwise that is a LOT of fussy cutting (mind you, suppose it will pass the time!). I did wonder if it was an idea to do a zoom call with some of us at some point whilst we were at our craft desks, bit like a virtual crop?
