What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 565

Sorry it’s late...I can’t imagine how I over slept....It’s a bit of an achievement is this. I’m not sure that I’d be keeping track of the days if it wasn’t for WOYWW! I was chatting to a new online acquaintance last evening who said that she was bored to death and had done enough cleaning to last her a decade. I could only sympathise. Because I’m not....I’ve got loads to keep me occupied and frankly, spring cleaning is pretty low on the list! Am so grateful that I have hobbies.
I’ve done a lot of scrapbooking in the last week, and inevitably in doing so have created scraps. The LO you can just about see on my desk is waiting for some journaling. And then, card making for me. I need to use up some scraps and there’s no better way to make a big dent. Do you like my new trolley? Cart, I believe some will call it. It was a panic purchase because I need to keep things relatively tidy in here and I find myself carting stuff from my workroom and not really putting them back (see dining chair at left!), and...oh I don’t know. Mr Dunnit put it together for me without complaint. I still have that desk top bin (the Options hot chocolate powder drum) and I use it, it’s useful. One day, I might spare some scraps to decorate it. Disguise it a little! Show and tell then won’t you, above all, report in and let us know you’re OK. and if you’re not OK, please say...we may between us, be able to help!

I wish I could oversleep lol but hey ho I don't sleep very well at the best of times... your trolley looks a bit overflowing on the top level (I get that, you'd need to bend too far to reach the lower ones!) Anyhow, my "work" desk is calling me so I'll catch the other deskers later.. xx

Ooh, nice trolley Missus! That'll be really handy for keeping the essentials to hand. I'm not bored either, how lucky are we?

I’m loving the new trolley....would love one but it would just get in my way in my sewing room sadly. Your creative space looks very tidy and organised to me....mine is just organised chaos cos I have no customers and can’t be a**** to put it all away.
Stay safe and well my friends and thanks for starting this wonderful group and keeping it going each week....it’s proving very precious during these difficult times.
Biggest hugs,
Annie x

So glad you are OK Julia, I must admit to be a little worried there for a while. Love the new trolley/cart. I have two of them sitting next to me and they are great to have at hand. Love the lay outs in the previous post too. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #4

Morning Julia. Aaahh bliss! A lie in - good for you! We've coped with you being a bit later, dim panicio, as they say locally. Yes, it is indeed difficult without a structure - the only thing in my diary now is Wednesday's blog run! I'm wondering why I bought it? Could I get my money back, do you think??
Your space looks great - and I am in full agreement ...CLEANING??? ... no way - far too many UFOs to work on, new things to try, friends to greet each Wednesday... You get the picture.
Yes, thanks. I'm OK. Disoriented, like the rest of the world, but plodding through each day. Daily I am thankful for little things - and am endeavouring to maintain an attitude of gratitude. I'm not straying far from my front door - as per instructions - and only go out when the 7 people in lockdown at a local guest house need some shopping. Do my own, if I need it, at the same time. Such is the new, current, normal.
Take care, dear girl. You stay safe with that hubby od yours. God bless.

So Glad to know you are okay, Funny you should over sleep I did the same thing today just when I needed to be up early as an on line meeting planned for 9 30 and wanted to get everything done before then lol.

A lie in will do you good - and you do sound quite chilled. Likewise, I am not at all bored and consider myself lucky to have lots to keep me busy. I have even done a little spring cleaning but don't want to overdo it!!! Love the trolley - good way to be able to store and move stuff from place to place. xx Jo

Morning Julia, I also slept much better last night, didn't really wake until just before 8, and at 8.41, I am still in bed.
Your desk always looks tidy, no chaos anywhere, wish I could work like that.
Keep sane, bless you for hosting

Hello Julia
I hope you don’t mind but I’ve dedicated my post today to my auntie gladys who I lost yesterday.
I’ve shown some bunnies she knitted recently without a pattern. So I guess it’s her desk as such.
Stay well and I feel sorry for people who don’t faff about like us or read. I’ve a million things I could do and the housework I’ve assigned to Philip xxx

Glad all is OK in your world, I love the trolley and would have one if I had any room for it. I'm not bored either and I'm wondering if the suggested 12 weeks of this might not be long enough to fit in everything I plan to do!
Stay safe and well,

Hello Julia, a sleep in was probably well deserved. Love the LO you posted earlier and I do like that trolley. I have something similar from Ikea purchased many years ago and still going well. I have added a bit of gardening and tackling 1 cleaning job per day, a few teleconferences and crafting and youTube and reading.... I love staying home. Stay safe :0

Well done for sleeping in, must admit i tend to wake up early regardless. Today got up and hubby reminded me i had a days annual leave already booked, woo hoo, crafting finally but looked at the room and thought, i need to clean it (i have NO idea like you how people have time to clean their houses normally i have very little time!) So i decided to tackle just one or maybe two areas of the rooom), forgot it was Wednesday until i saw my man bites dog cards, hence the quick blog update!!! Also love your new cart, very handy

I'm glad you are well. I seem to be a little shell shocked but ok. I stay in a lot anyway but am used to getting out for groceries and such. Now I try to plan those trips and then back home as quickly as possible. I love your new cart! I've thought of one of those but I'm really full up and have no where for it to call home! Enjoy!

Hi Julia, since last week I have had the biggest cold ever since retiring from teaching but it's subsiding now. The worst bit was when it got stuck in my head which I think is probably catarrh but that's clearing now too but I'm not complaining because as we all know it could be worse though I would like to slap the kind person who gave it me. We've hardly been anywhere other than the supermarket nearly two weeks ago so I must have picked it up there, this just shows how easy it is to pass a virus on I guess. Anyway, less of that. I'm loving your trolley/cart they are so useful. Housework! I've better things to do with my time it gets it's usual one day blitz and the rest of the time I sweep over it with a glance! Have a great housework free woyww, Angela x18x

Morning Julia.
We are very lucky to have hobbies aren't we. I know the days will be busy and, like you, cleaning is pretty far down the list, although I have decided to do one thing each day, even if it's just hoover, lol. Life's too short to clean isn't it?
All good in The Craft Garden. Better than last week as I think we are settling into this new life now and stopped kicking against it.
I like the fact that you don't have to set the alarm and can snuggle down for a bit longer.
Love your new trolley. My hubby has it in turquoise for all his modelling stuff...I often get trolley envy.
Take care and have a good week

Hello Julia! Well I overslept too but only because I was up till silly o'clock binge watching Downton. Totally passed me by the first time round but finding it quite an antidote to everything else on the telly. I am never bored but feel there's a certain irony in now having as much time as I want to craft (be careful what you wish for). And I'm still slightly resentful at having to stop to feed the boys!!(If I didn't they would just eat junk continuously). I really am incredibly grateful that we had our time in Spain in February. It has made the fact that I should have just been in Tenerife this last week a little more bearable!! Stay well, stay safe, love n hugs Cindyxx

Hello Julia, I managed to get on you site today with no problems :) Have you seen Angela's tubes she has been decorating? That's what I would do with your tin. I can't believe I threw away some tubes last year :(
I love little trolleys/carts, I have one and I was thinking of getting another till my husband said "You have enough storage!" I am buzzing with things to do at the moment, I spent all yesterday sorting something out for my husband!
Have a great WOYWW Angela

Hi Julia, love the cart, I now have two that size, and one smaller one. One has all the 'need close to hand' stuff off my desk, looking at whats in it, I have no idea how I had space on my desk to do anything! Running out of things to do & boredom are things that will never hit us, I doubt. I can't imagine how anyone gets through life without a hobby. Love and hugs, Stay safe both of you, Hugs, Shaz #7 XxXx

We live in strange times and half of the time I cannot set myself to create - and then there are days that I create up a storm! I just go with the flow I guess... and I am glad to say we're all ok (me, beloved and parents and son + daughter in law in their own homes) In the Netherlands all restricted were extended yesterday: stay home as much as possible, wash hands, keep distance when you need to go outside et cetera - until April 28 so I will have to stay home this month too... I might even start Spring cleaning but it is last on my list too (I only cleaned the windows two weeks ago and the hard Eastern wind blew dust on it over the last week, so I can start over, grrr!) Anyway, I joined woyww and that's something isn't it?!! Take care sweetie, and stay safe. Marit #24

Hopefully a Good Morning for you. Mr Sun left us and it's now raining again. I too slept in, was up late playing Mahjong. I really have enjoyed your scrapbook pages. Good way to keep those memories. I do like your trolley cart. My new rule on larger things, if you bring 1 thing home 1 thing goes out the door. I've been cleaning 1 or 2 areas each day. Yesterday was the biggest cupboard in the kitchen (Spices/baking/odd pans etc)He noticed this morning !!! Off to visit, thankful for you and WOYWW and the fun hobbies I enjoy. Being home is okay with me. STAY SAFE.

Afternoon Julia, had to come back to comment as no sooner had I linked up remembered i'd forgotten my meds today.. Lifes foggy enough at the moment without it. Nice new trolley, I have two white ones but I do love the black one, i'd have to decorate it with some folk art flowers and painty things if it was mine. Nice to see you putting it to good use and what a sunny spot you have captured again, our weather is right dreich here today.
Keep busy lovely, we've got plenty more days to think of spring cleaning.. i've been on the thinking part for quite some time.

Good Morning Julia, I love the cart that is really smart and even better its a hard floor so you can roll it along. ( I have one in the closet with paints and tubes and such in it but, the only carpet we have is upstairs in the hobby room) so, dragging it over that is not my thing so I tucked it into the closet where the floor is hard. ~Stacy #29

Julia your area is looking rather tidy! I love the cart. I am obsessed with them and probably own too many but like you, I like the idea that I can move them around. And let's face it, they are so cool looking. I have one for my coloring book collection and pencils. One for my genealogy books and notebooks. I have one for stamps and copies and one for journals and cards. Oh and one more in my craft closet with project life cards and embellishments. Perhaps I should own stock in that company!!!
I am well today. The sun is shining and I am at my cheery craft desk. Have a blessed day and stay well.
big hugs,

Have an awful lot of visiting and catching up to do, aren't I the lucky one?!?!?!
going to look at the layout now that folks are commenting on....

Hi Julia, the first thing I noticed in your photo was the trolley. I have looked at them a couple of times in Hobbycraft - but I know I would fill it, and then there would be a gap somewhere else and I would have to buy more craft stuff! I had a look at your layout post - lovely layout of me and Neet - was such a fun day! Spring cleaning doesn't generally appear on my list of things to do - I normally have a lovely lady makes my house sparkle every Monday - but she's self-isolating, so I may have to do it myself! Have a lovely week, and stay safe and well, Heather xx #33

I love your trolley - what a fab idea. Your layout of me made me laugh! I really didn't stop smiling all day at the crop. I am too busy to remotely have time to clean - hoping that will change next week, but not looking likely yet. Happy WOYWW. Take care and stay well, With love & God Bless, Caro x (#17)

I love your little wheely cart! Perfect! Glad you are making good use of your time and getting LO's done! Cleaning is at the bottom of my list, but somehow watching the dire news and playing "Fiends" seems to be at the top of my list! Oh well, hope you and your family are safe, Lindart #34

Love the little cart but I’d just fall over it in my craft room due to excessive amounts of stuff lying about. Keep safe and thanks for linking us all even though I do it on Faceachd.

came back to reply to your comment. promise I'll tell all about an April 1st wedding next time we are able to get together. Lets hope it's not too long - I could do with a Mrs Dunnit hug! (no, office hours unfortunately, no sneaking out during the day, hard at it 9 - 5.30.... lol )

The cart is lovely! Thank goodness for hobbies. I really worry for the people who don't have them. I spent a lot of time and energy getting things like my new nebulizer so that if the old one failed (it's 18 years old) I don't have to call the ambulance. One of those I don't need it often, but when I do I REALLY do things. I had about 2 weeks of food when this started, but went out in the early mornings to restock last week. Now I feel I can just hunker down. Glad you have your hobbies : D.

Hi Julia,
I’m so with you in the I’m bored cry... I struggle to even sympathise though... our parents had a sure cure for the cry of I’m bored... gave us a job .. so learnt early it isn’t in our dictionary!
Yes I’m not big on covering useful containers with paper when I’ve other things needing attention.
Think Cary is US Word. A trolley here, just like shopping trolley etc. lovely work, and I think your workroom or craftroom should be dining this your craft room!,, okay bit radical. Now one more job then will try to comment on some blogs.. if not tonight will do tomorrow!!
Lovely desky share sorry I’m late... again. Brought a late note from home 😁
Thanks for being a blessing, and may God bless you too, especially in these troubled times, may we look up in faith! Praying you’re all kept well too!

I think this is the tidiest I've seen your desk! Maybe because of your new trolley/cart... Anyway, seems many of us have been organizing and I just got a new trolley a couple weeks ago plus got one for hubby. And we've been sleeping in a bit more since I'm furloughed from work.
Hope you have a great week!

Wondering if you got any flour on Wednesday - you will probably have seen I got some delivered by an angel. It was so funny that you had overslept because I did too and thought "drat, I'll be really behind everyone this morning". Quite a surprise to find you had just that minute posted - so I became no 2.
You made me smile about the spring cleaning, none done at this house either. Chas is busy looking after me by having to do such a lot of the household chores I dare not mention spring cleaning to him. Besides, we need cheering with this going on so crafting should be a priority. I feel sorry for folks with no hobbies.
Your trolley cart (sounds like you are in San Fran - don't they call them trolley carts?) is a great idea for you to be able to trundle stuff from room to room. I have one, bought for the side of the bed before we had the room re-done but now it is in the bathroom with the towels all prettily displayed in it - it matched perfectly with the colour of the feature wall so no contest for where to use it.
Right Mrs, you stay safe and well, especially be careful when out and about
Hugs, Neet 2 xx

Hi Julia, thanks for your visit, and absolutely no need to apologise for being late. Any comments up to 11.59 p.m. on Tuesday is in time, for me!! I think we are all trying to be more diligent, visiting as many people as possible at the moment, and it does take time, so no worries.

I am so glad you like our little garden. It really is an oasis. It's going to be its best ever, the amount of work my hubby is putting into it at the moment, not being able to go out and do all his usual stuff! Sorry to hear of the beheading of your poor little primroses, but needs must! Otherwise you'd have a field for a lawn! Our primrose bank gets better by the day, and the violets are spreading all the way along this year, for the first time - just lovely.

It sounds as if everything is under control Chez Julia - I'm really glad to hear that your hubby is able to continue working, and that you are not without a kitchen while you wait for the various services to be back to work. I am sure it is going to be fabulous when its done, and it will have been worth waiting for.

No need to worry about the techy stuff. I only put it in for those who are interested in such things, and also as an aide memoir to myself for future reference. I've always enjoyed playing with my computer since the early days back in the mid-90s, and now, it's just one more tool in my creative arsenal, and a useful one for when I'm feeling too tired to sit at my desk. I'm with you on just wanting it to work, though! There's nothing more frustrating than when computers go wrong...

Keep safe and well,
Shoshi #26
