What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 496

Four nine six. Four hundred and ninety-six. Seriously. And how many of those have been an untidy mess of stuff, half finisheds, waiting to be put aways, waiting for inspiration.....all of them frankly. So gentle Deskers, I give you :-
Absolutely the same thing! Slight work in progress, although you can't see it because it's on the *ahem* cutting station behind me. It's a scrapbook LO. I haven't any time to make Christmas cards, but I can get in the mood to do a LO. Don't ask, it's an insanity you do not want to be a party to. So there's a sheet of unused 12 x 12 which was cast away in disgust after trying to colour match it in unnatural light. Disaster. The square of yellow is just kitchen tissue. I was using it as a coaster for a really stupidly full mug of coffee. For reasons I will explain elsewhere, I know Jan must have had an overflowing mug too. There's a glue bottle with the lid off...I never learn. Now I'll have to pick glue snot out of the nozzle and that just makes me cross. The big scissors are out...things are getting serious! Actually, I'm not sure why...it may have something to do with packing tape and Mr Dunnit. It usually does. I'll leave you to noodle over that!
Show us your panic stations then one and all, please put WOYWW in your post title, keep the desk part of it reasonably brief - this is such a busy time for everyone and you don't want to not have comments because you wrote too much, huh. I know, pot, kettle.....

I will always leave a comment, because you have been kind enough to keep this going for 496 weeks... I was indignant on your behalf last week as so few deskers remembered to stop and comment here...you are the host to this fabulous party after all! anyhow, I totally get how you can be in the mood for LO's not cards... I would do many things rather than more cards right now!! Have a cracking week. Enjoy the stupidly overfull cup of coffee. Helen #2

Morning Julia. 496 - goodness - getting very close to the 500. What a year next year - Number 500, 10years... What other celebrations can we think of??? Your desk looks more productive than mine!!! Layout making sounds good to me.
Take care girl.. God bless.

Morning Julia.. so frustrating trying to pick glue snot out of the nozzle as you so elegantly put it.. hee hee!! I'm with you also on the cards (insert SAD face HERE)
Happy WOYWW and Thank you for hosting Hugs Tracey #8
P.S you need a handy little straw for those over filled coffee cup days, we do not want to spill a drop of that important liquid it's what keeps us going on days like this x

Oh yeah, I'm familiar with those glue snots - I just didn't realise they had a name LOL. My post looks long because of the photos, but the actual word count is only 358 - so not far off your 275! Phew - perhaps I can get away with it! Actually, I find the very short posts more difficult to comment on without being impersonal - I agree though, long posts can be off-putting for some people to wade through - we'll just have to find that sweet spot in between! Glad to be back on WOYWW again bright and early! zsuzsa #6

I think Quantum synergy (or whatever it was that G said!) applies to us more than coffee. Bet this comment is going to confuse everyone 😁

Hi dear Julia,
oh dear you’re like me avoiding the things which ought to be done!
In my case - like writing in cards which are for overseas so will prob be late, yours included, although it was posted today so that’s better than most. Cut back on O/S cards this year.
Yes I have that same issue with my glue! I wonder if there was an alarm that set off when it’s in clog building stage would help : D
Happy WOYWW,
Shaz in Oz.x #10 I think, congrats indeedy on 496. My 8th Anniversary wit WOYWW on first Wednesday of 2019 as started on first Wednesday in 2011.

A very wet morning in Lancashire so all outdoor pursuits are off and as I have a day myself I guess I can now spend some of it deskhopping. Better than housework any day Julia.
Thanks for being such a great host for 496 weeks. Oh I’ve just realised that the number of the house I grew up in

496! I wonder how many of those I’ve joined in for? Not missed many I know that hehe. My mum would have said....no show without Punch’!
Christmas chaos? Sure is but only cos I’m so busy with sewing I can’t get to complete any of it....I’m like that swan....gracefully swimming on the surface (what my customers can see) and paddling like crazy under the water 😂😂😂😂 I’m sure it will all get done ....and if it doesn’t it won’t be life threatening. More importantly I’m escaping for the weekend to spend some quality family time....more of that next week.
Hugs,
Annie x

Hi Julia, the numbers are scaring me a bit but that's life for you. I try not to write too much and to leave at least a quick comment for everyone but get a bit disappointed that there are some deskers who never and I do mean never respond sadly, I don't know why, just hope it's a computer thing. Anyway have a lovely creative week, Angela x16x

Hi Julia, As always a busy desk. I buy most of my Christmas cards from the Greyhound charity. Don't know why, but I have never liked making Christmas cards.

Yesterday I posted off all the cards and two Secret Santa parcels, so just two to hand deliver. Provisions squashed into the freezer and cupboards, so just my tree to go up. i do love to be organised:) LOL

Happy WOYWW

Hi Julia. It's good to be back! Always enjoy reading your words, make me chuckle. Have a great week and I kept it very short this time :-) x

Hi Julia,
I see I'm not the only one with a lack of Christmas card mojo! I'm of the opinion there's not much point doing them if I'm going to stress about getting them done!
496 - Wow - I've really enjoyed being a very small, occasional cog in this very big wheel. Big hug and big thanks,

Hi Julia, I actually managed fairly short & sweet this week! Getting in a few visits before the hairdresser event, lol. Right now my desk is pretty uneventful, as the cards are cleared away- for now. Love and hugs, Shaz XxX #7

I have a question .... why is there a loaf under your desk?
I can understand about LO calling you - I have this most marvellous Christmassy wool and I just want to crochet little blankets for the marvellous babies born over Christmas! But we have to do other things like cooking meals, shopping etc.
But our desks will be there, ever changing, ever giving joy.
Thank you for sharing yours.

Glue snot! That made me laugh! Yes, I do that ALL the time! And leave the lids off my ink. . .I guess we're just too busy thinking about the important things! Have a wonderful week, Lindart #26

I am of course grinning from ear to ear with my second cuppa Joe this morning Julia. I have plenty of Christmas cards I think... but, my brain is on sort the sentiments so that I can find and use them still so, I have not addressed a single one to be mailed as of yet...yep, so I get that your brain has a lo on it instead.

I love picking the dried up glue from the nozzle - but only if I am not in a rush to use it - then it is so frustrating!! Bought 7 bottles the other day to make sure I a one on the go. "C" cards too care of just over half of a bottle!
Right off to 'noodle'. See you net week.
Hugs, Neet 5 xx

Oh dear, Julia, I suspect I may have upset you this week with a post not brief enough. Just look at the photos and ignore my bletherings. Like you, I'm ready to scrap LOs again - I've had enough of making cards for now. 'Glue snot' - yuk! Have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #25

I am not sure what happened to my comment from last week, it was mostly about how in awe I was of your bravery at leaving town with an open bottle of glitter on your desk : D.

I completely understand the no time for cards, let's start a layout creativity demands lol. When mojo calls, we must answer! #29ish

Hi Julia, oh dear I'd better hang my head in shame. Too many photos and too many words! My end of year report will say "must try harder" and I will! I can't seem to get in the mood for C cards either - much as I try, but I am having fun sewing, and that needs to be finished for Christmas, so I'm heading in the right direction. I must have been a butterfly in a former life, I flit from one project to the next, usually not quite finishing something before I start on something new! Focus, that's what I need to do. Hmm, and pigs will fly! Thank you for this wonderful, funny, friendly, informative blog hop - 496 weeks, soknbbe the Big 500! Have a lovely week Heather x #14

I think it must have been a year ago - or so - that I stated that I would create more scrapbook layouts... it never happened, and I don't make New Year's resolutions but... Oh well, it's how we roll. Have a great week Julia! Love from Holland, Marit #21

Following your comment on my blog - so many brews and so glad they both drink 'tea' because it means I have more teabags piling up for me to decorate. So you see, an added incentive to make them tea - all in the name of crafting! Only trouble is I cannot get them dry enough overnight to put away but who cares, more to play with.
Hugs, Neet xx 5
ps did the woman mean you had to bring your own and do it yourself? My guys hunted out the kettle (it was in a cupboard because we have one of those hot water brew up taps) and brewed up themselves whilst we were at the hospital this morning (physio for me) so it just shows, I hope, that they feel at home with my cake and brews.

My panic station should be in Christmas card mode but took a moment out to make a Valentine card! Oh my! Anyway I'm back in CC mode. I loved how you described your desk and that bit about your hubby had me giggling. My hubby rarely comes in my room unless I'm in it or he needs the big PC to look up stuff. Hope you have a productive rest of the week!
