Almost a review.....

My good friend and yours, Shaz Silverwolf  has done a blog post as is her tradition, about the favourite projects that she worked on in 2018. She’s something of a research and development junkie, so her posts are always fascinating and very often enabling. That is a friendly warning. Annnnnd I’ve already digressed.
So, I thought that maybe this year I’d surprise the reader that drops by and do some sort of round-up of my own blog. But I’ve changed my mind. It turns out that mostly this year’s posts have consisted of the weekly WOYWW, and a few not-so-fascinating posts in between. I haven’t any particular idea why. Like loads of lives, mine has had a re-shape this year and the resulting prioritising is still under review! I miss it, but am also very true to my belief that if I’ve got nothing interesting to say, I shouldn’t bother. That sounds very pompous doesn’t it, because really I’m probably not the best person to judge my own interestingness.

Here’s my current view. I find a small gin and tonic makes me interestinger.

I’m rubbish, absolutely rubbish at New Year's resolutions. Not because I’m beyond improvement, but because I don’t keep them. And I’m too old to get into saying I’m going to do stuff that I can’t or won’t. But I have decided on a couple of things that I know will make my life easier and I really have to try this route. The first is to use an App to blog from iPad. Blogger seems to have abandoned us iPad owners in this department, for five years the best I can do to my blog on the iPad is read it. Editing or posting, even through a browser is impossible. I’m writing this on an App that I’ve paid for. So it had better be good! I will report back, believe me. And the other thing I’m going to do, is tidy up the desk surface between ‘things’. Because I’m sick of working on top of other stuff. And it surely has to be more efficient? I see the desks of tidy people every week and wonder at the productivity, so now I’m doing some practical research of my own. Not that I could enable Shaz with my findings, I reckon she already knows.
I wish you a great New Year. Above everything else, I want you to be healthy and happy; so come on 2019, we’ve got stuff to do.

Hi Julia, thought i'd pop in before bedtime and also before the New Year sweeps over us all. It's a funny old game creativity, I seem to have more in my head than on my desk regarding ideas. I'm not one for resolutions but do have some ideas for next year but i'm taking every step as it comes after the last few months.
Thank you again for hosting Woyww it's been great dipping in every week and getting to know everyone. You have much to be thankful for next year with that 10 years looming.
Wishing you and the family a happy & healthy New Year and all the best for 2019
Creative wishes Tracey xx

Hi Julia just thought Id add my two cents worth. I think sometimes our lives take a twist here and there and it tends to show when we craft as we go from daily, weekly posts to random posts.
Mind you I think a lot of us rely on reading posts as getting out and socialising becomes harder one way or another.
Ive noticed a lot of people prefer to use Instagram now and though I use it I always blog first (mainly as this is the easiest way to get the photos onto Instagram) but because its also a way to chat with others, share news and get input better than Instagram.

Even though no one is going to say I love reading about other people lives it is fun to get to know someone you follow for more than just their craft talents. A little peek inside their lives can also make one realise we are not the only ones going through things. All the best for the following year xx Aileen

I'm one of those who reviews my art, my work, etc every year about this time. I am also a neat freak, as I'm sure you know. But I also like to create one thing or one project at a time. This winter, just as I was making my first Christmas tip-ins and quiltlets, I messed up my sewing machine. I had both projects going at once and both required my sewing machine. I moved all those aside and started working on other things. I got overwhelmed and the clutter, which most would consider controlled, got to me and I just shut down. All of a sudden I didn't care if my sewing machine got fixed, my handmade gifts got made, or even if I ate well. I even got to the point where I left dirty dishes in my kitchen sink overnight, something I NEVER DO. All this because I felt my craft room was cluttered and I couldn't move forward. It's amazing what clutter can do to a neat freak and how it affects a person like myself. I think you probably have a healthier attitude toward clutter than I have, and you don't shut down if you leave something sitting on your desk. For that I applaud you, dear.

Here's to a healthy, safe, and joyful new year and a wonderful 2019 for you and your loved ones.

Hi Julia, Hope you find the app worth the money. Also hope you do manage to tidy your desk in between things.

Thank you for thinking of WOYWW, as I get great inspiration from all the lovely deskers.

I hope you and your hubby have a wonderful 2019, filled with happiness, laughter and good health. Love Sue

Hi Julia, that made me laugh! As I'm married to an Enabler par excellence, it must be rubbing off! Totally agree, Gin & Tonic makes everything more interestinger. :) Don't think I've kept a NY resolution in my life, and really can't see me starting now, but I can only hope the more stamping actually does happen. I still work on the 'push to one side' method of tidying, and can't see that ever changing to be fair, I only really have a good sort out when stuff starts falling off the desk!Love, Hugs & Happy New Year to you all, Shaz XxX

I haven't created enough to review this year and don't really think I'd bother if I had... but perhaps that is just apathy. The only resolution I would consider making is one that I made last year and broke then (too?!) is to craft more... we'll see. Happy New Year and enjoy the gin!

I don't do resolutions either.....I know myself too well to think that I'd ever stick to them! So onwards into another New Year....whatever it brings, it'll be ok. You can't get rid of me this year either..... 😉

Hi Julia, happy new year, I never do resolutions either as I know I would never stick to them although I am hoping this year I will be able to join you on WOYWW more than this year as we won’t be travelling so much next year, we need a rest and jobs to do here.
Take care

Hi Julia.
Love your posts even if dont comment on them all. If I was to do a year in review whuch I'm not I'd find also blogging has taken a back seat.. very much so. And that is fine. Life is changing.. as it does.
I've a friend who uses an app to blog her posts on her iPad she uses Blog Touch Pro.
She was having awful trouble and going to give it up till a blogger friend put her onto it.
Here is her post if it helps..
