Whats On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 147

See, you turn your back for a teeny tiny week; I get the old act together a bit and this happens to my desk.  This photo taken Tuesday morning.  And apart form completion of the card, it's utterly the same. Shameful? Probably.  Interesting? Possibly.  I know a lot of you will be tempted to explain the puddle of buttons can be avoided if I would just colour seperate them into little jars. But I can't.  Can you see the P?  It's gessoed.  And dry.  In the tray of little glitters upon which it reclines, there's an A, too.  They are my sweet mother's initials and the nick-name that I use to address her.  They are a late birthday gift.  I know they are going to be late because her birthday was yesterday.  But other, more reliable gifts were involved, honest!

Show us your desk then - upload to your blog, keep your post brief if you possibly can, put WOYWW in the title and link here. We'll visit.  The term 'desk' is used in the loosest of meanings..you'll see as you meander through the list.  If you're wondering about the availability of the WOYWW badge, just email me your address - juliadunnit@me.com, and after I've applied some stringent criteria to your application, I'll post one to you. One other thing....I'm not going to make it around every desk this week,  already now this because I'm not here. I'm elsewhere!

Can't wait to see how you finish your 'P' off. Loving the buttons, but mine are all colour coded - not as much fun as yours, but easy to find!

Happy Wednesday Julia
I see you are well and truly back on form, where as I can polish my halo this week as my desk is spotless x
Have a great rest of week x

Lots of crafty goodness on your desk this week! Oh the buttons!! I love the sound of sorting buttons :D. Hoping Blogger is more co-operative this week. #10ish

Oh PS Are you going to ally pally this time?

What a glorious jumble, Julia! It is out of such chaos that great works of art arise... with a little faith lol lol!!

I'm the first to comment this week, if not the first to join! I really thought I might make No. 1 this time, but 12 is as high up the list as I've ever been. It really suits me that you post in the small hours, as I am still up and about, but never up in time if you post at a more "normal" hour in the morning!!

Have a great week, Julia, and thanks again for all you do for us.

Good morning, Julia. I love your puddle of buttons, they are more fun to play with that way, and you might find some you had forgotten about. I should not worry about that gift being late, it just means that he birthday goes on for longer. Have a good week. xx Maggie #6 ish.
PS thank you for being such a good hostess.

I'm tickled to see all those buttons. You know my storage philosophy is that you MUST store your products in a way that is best for you. No matter what others think, if you aren't happy with your storage solutions, they aren't working for you. So, have fun with your buttons. And have a super night out, too!

Guess I need to follow my own advice and add my number: This week I'm #3, which is easy to type, at least.

WOW, how did that happen?! I got in at No. 15! Love your messy desk Julia - if you got burgled I reckon thieves would take one look and leave, thinking you'd already been 'turned over' :)

Hope you're having a fabby time wherever you are!

I always spill the buttons to find 'the one' - and if I did sort them into colours they would last but a day... liking the bunting there and a well-gessoed P and A. indeed. Amazing how the little 'done' crafty jobs can make your day. Hope you had time to glam up in time on Monday night....!

Good Morning! I was just closing down to go to bed, post on timer...My desk this week is as tidy as it's even been,
I'm still going to say it again...can I have a P please...bob....or it could be a b... off to bed now, 'see' you in a few hours..thank you for my snoop. The card is looking very creative

There is something about a puddle of buttons that is more fun than a dribble of one colour. Hope your Mum had a lovely day. xx

Ooh love big puddles of buttons - takes me back to my childhood when it was a treat to be allowed to play with my nan's button tin. These days that would probably be classed as a deprived childhood. Thank you Julia for my WOYWW badge which arrived safely this week and - I know it has been said before - you have the most delicious handwriting!! Hugs Cindy

This is Annette at Number 22... thought I'd get that out of the way before I forgot... being blonde and old is a pain in the butt... now, the desk... it does look more normal and I really am of the opinion that puddles of buttons are the way to go... who doesn't like to rummage through all the colours to find just the right size and colour? LOL

I didn't get past staring at the buttons... They always remind me of sitting on Grandma's knee, learning to sew. Nan had a tin of buttons that made the most gorgeous sound when rattled... even now I can't resist shaking a packet of loose buttons :)

I don't seperate my buttons either. It is so pretty and colorful to have a jar of buttons poured out on your desk and pick through it looking for the perfect one to use. Maybe it is just me, but I love it!

I'm with you, don't sort the buttons. How can you find that little something that isn't what you thought of but suddenly looks good, if they are all sorted and sterile in one colour.

Have a great week and keep up the messy desk.

Well I have been visiting everyones desk and last week I saw them all. I am so proud of myself for getting through so many. So this is my desk, as tidy as it will ever be. I do love all the messy ones, it means creativity overload and heaps of unleashed tallent. LOL

Seeing a big pile of buttons like that brings back so many childhood memories of hours spent sorting out all the buttons on mums big button tin, only to throw them all back in the tin at the end ready for the next sorting.

Happy Crafting!

The posty just brought me your button! Whooohooo, so excited! Thanks so much, really appreciate it. Will wear it with pride and see who recognizes it all the way over here in SA!

Buttons deserve to live together, not segregated by colour! Ali x

Loving the mixed up buttons. I keep thinking about colour coding mine, but sometimes there's more inspiration when having a look through a jumbled pile of stuff!

I missed this week as I was working on tax stuff Wednesday. My other desk was as absolute wreck with receipts and stuff to categorize! But this desk of yours is definitely a winner!!!

Hello again, thanks for your comment on my desk - yes I did get my badge and I thought I had commented on one of your posts to say thank you but it must've gone astray... ur just too popular, lady! I wore it with pride at the NEC but nobody noticed *sniff*! As for my desk, I'm glad I'm in such esteemed company; the black thing is a mini sheep-shaped hoover, a Crumbpet! Its actually quite powerful, I'm impressed by the cr*p it picks up!

Made it in this week! I was hoping not to miss any since I found out about this fun time a few weeks back but last week was just too crazy. Hope you are having a lovely week...even though your desk seems to have gotten the upper hand on you! ;-)
