Action!

This is for you - anyone who reads here regularly deserves a medal.
(Sketch 'cased' from Lousette in Craft Stamper)
Although actually it's not that early (8.30), I feel as though it is.  We're early risers generally, but Saturdays for me are a luxury lie in day - I wouldn't generally be up before now.  But of course, it's a crop day and for some reason that meant that yesterday I didn't get ready.  How does that happen?  At lunch time, I joked to Jan that I'd blame her. But I don't and can't because she wasn't here.  I spent the afternoon on the floor in front of my cupboards, putting photos to paper try to achieve the semblance of page kits.  And then I woke up at ridiculous o,clock thinking about all the things I hadn't got ready, wanted to take but hadn't packed, or just hadn't thought of yesterday.  Ah well; Mr D is coming home to transport me to the hall, so I'll just cave in and take everything,  Obviously, if I was packing and driving myself, this would not happen, but when you've got help - well you would wouldn't you?

Flea Market day at the shop. (Station Road Tidowrth, Hants SP9 7NN)  I can't miss the chance to check out the number of wood mounted stamps that will be entered.  I'm beginning to think I'm the only person in the world who still wants them. My workshop friend Mrs Willpower has unmounted all of hers. Others are doing that.  I want to wood mount all my clear stamps, perversely!  It's not about room.  I'm just inflexible, change resistant and old fashioned.  Yeah.  DD, fresh from her first week of studying Communications, would call that Self Awareness.  I say it's my age.

Have a lovely weekend.

Thanks for the card ...Its awsome ...and cute.
I still haven't made my mind up about stamps ...the wooden are pretty and tactile , the clear are easiest to use but dont seem to have a long life and then rubber can be mounted or other wise and sit between the other two. Ho Hum decisions decisions ..I think I'll just think again another day.lol
Have fun at the crop.xx

What a great card - thank you! Am sure the crop will be great.
I too much prefer wooden stamps to unmounted, though some of the unmounted ones are ok, as you know I have one or two (ahem) of both types...

I love my wood mounted stamps and would never get rid of them. I still have the first stamp I ever bought! Give me red rubber anyday!

I vote for wood mounted stamps too :) Pretty to look at and I can't imagine ever taking the rubber off such the blocks. Silly me, didn't realised about Tidworth being quite close to here :( Stamp - only of foot in vexation!! Di xx

Thanks for the card dedication to me and them!
I too love red rubber block mounted as there is something about selecting from them instead of rummaging through files and drawers to find inspiration or just the right image. Mind you if I was given a scak full of UMs... weeeellll I wouldn't refuse them!
Hope you have fun ant the crop and a great weekend.
Love Jo x

I prefer wood mounted stamps too, and although I have a few clear stamps I try to avoid them if I can ... unmounted rubber stamps I can live with but there's nothing quite like being able to display favourite stamps on a shelf ready for use! Wish I was nearer to Tidworth - enjoy the sale!

Have a great day at your crop! I can understand the dilemma of what to pack -- I am headed to a friend's this afternoon for crafty time and still don't know what I'm bringing!

Love the card! Mr. Frog looks pretty happy with himself today! I too still love my wood mounts and have no plans to unmount them. I'm tempted by the space saving possibilities but love the way they feel when you are stamping.

Julia, you're not alone! I would rather have my favourite stamps on wood, simply because it makes them sooooo much easier to use! One of my storage drawers behind my chair is full of wood-mounted stamps and they're used a lot because they're so convenient. However, I would never be able to have all the stamps I have, if they were mounted. I've got six lever-arch files full to bursting, a box file, a basket and an overflow area! And I know plenty of people have even more than that... :D

Ohw, love the Frog!!! Most of time i find them scary but this one, i want to Kiss ;-)

You are not alone. Love THE wooden stamps also but are much more expensive when you buy them in store. And then i haven't mentioned THE shipping costs,

Greetings, marjolein

Sounds like your plate is full :D. I've never packed for a crop, because I've never been to one, but I think I'd pack everything that would fit lol. Love the card, it's Toad-ally cute :D, I'm thinking it's a frog, but the pun wouldn't work for that!

I love that Frog. Brilliant.
I am with you on the packing for crops! And when I get there, there is always something I wish I had brought!!
As for stamps - you are not alone. I much prefer wooden stamps. To me they stamp better and there is something nice about the fact you can stroke them!!

Awesome card! I have unblocked all my stamps to save space and I still have the blocks. If it wasn't so cost prohibitive I would box them up and send them all to you so you could mount those clear ones! Have a great week. Vickie

If a stamp came wood mounted, I left if wood mounted. I don't mess with my stamps. It's not like I have a gazillion stamps like some people. However, as much as I like the IDEA of being able to see through those clear stamps, I can't seem to get them to cling to ANYTHING. They simply don't work for me. So, yes, give me the wood mounted stamps any day and I'll be a happy camper.

I hope you had fun at the crop. I've never been to one, so have no idea what I would take if I went. Probably half my craft room would go!

i would love to go to that craft flea market! i think it would be nice to have the clear stamps mounted on clear blocks. but then, i am not a very good stamper (very messy) so i guess either way, i need to practice!

Funny, it is a bit like not wanting to go digital with my camera initially, now when I want to see the image on my old Pentax K1000 that uses film I get frustrated cos I can't! I was using one of Tim's Rubber stamps the other day and got frustrated cos I could not see through and couldn't place it properly cos I'm now so used to the clear stamps! Can't win!

Im with you Julia wood mounted all the time! I've stopped buying the clear ones (even Stampin up) as I don't like them.

Love the frog.

Loving the froggy card Julia.

I have a mix of stamps and I just use 'as is'...couldn't be faffing with 'unmounting' stuff. I don't really mind what sort of stamp my main concern is the image.

Unmounting perfectly good mounted stamps? Who has the time? I'm with you on this! And with the take-it-all-with-you-to-the-crop feeling. I'm beginning to think crops are too stressful!
