What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 260

Yes Deskers and Readers, today is the 260th Wednesday that we've linked in one way or another to each other.  That's FIVE, 5, count them 1 2 3 4 5 years.  How utterly amazing you all are.

At WOYWW, We all know each other. Sure, we have some sort of craft and creative expression in common, that's just a good start. My beautiful daughter is an only child and we're very aware of it. We've taught her to presume that on the whole, other people will want to get to know her and be friends; that she never needs to be 'lonely only' that her father and I are often reminded that she could be.  That's the spirit of WOYWW - a presumption of Friendship.

It was really evident last Saturday at the Crop; I hope that even though some people walked through the door alone, they did not walk through the door with trepidation at not knowing a soul.  That thing about 'meeting strangers off the internet' just doesn't apply here.  I'm confident that if you find yourself in the home town of any Desker, any where in the world, with a bit of contact and some notice, you could share a coffee and a chat without difficulty.
After all, we bare our workdesks to each other and that's the sort of thing only friends can do!  Please go on joining in.  Remember, it's not a members only thing, and you just dip in and out when you can or when you like.  Reciprocate the visits and make some friends why don't you. The major 'rules' are about blatant advertising because WOYWW is not about that...and I will let you know if you get too obvious!

These lovely badges are for you to lift and plonk on your blogs if you want to; an anniversary gift to you from Nikki C..honestly, this blog would be nothing without all the talent out there!

So now - if you have an ATC to trade, please include the * after your name when you type in the Linky details.  The next name below yours on the list displaying an asterisk * will be your recipient..make contact for an address.  Easier than it sounds.  And don't worry - if you forget the asterisk * - re-link, I'll be on hand today to delete any double links.  It'll play havoc with the numbers, but we're all grown up and can cope with that.  I guarantee that you'll still be living and breathing, and that's the real priority, huh!
If you are the first on the list, fret not, the last name* on the list will be your sendee.  A perfect circle of friendship.  Like the expression or not, that's what it is!

I have to tell you Julia that through the power of the internet it have made and met many creative bloggers and can happily say they are true friends.
Where I live in Whitworth we have our own Facebook page and through this we have built a fabulous community and it's the first place I look when I need a tradesman, to know if a place is open or a bit of advise. It really is remarkable as is your WOYWW. SO CONGRATULATIONS Jule and thank you for bringing so many of us together

Happy 5th Birthday Julia and WOYWWers! Loved your post today, I'm an only child as well and every word is true - my parents had the same 'advice' for me as you have with your daughter. Sometimes it does get 'lonely' but I have made so many lovely friends through blogging and craft..an amazing community to be a part of. Saw your post yesterday about phone covers, so couldn't resist adding mine to my WOYWW post this week! Hugs Carole Z X #48

Being a statistician, I went back and reviewed the first anniversary. You would be amazed at the number of deskers who no longer are with us. And of course, the few who still play along most weeks.

Glad you had fun at the crop. You have created the best monster around, and I'm so proud to still be a part of it. Thanks for all you do for this snoopy community. BTW, Bleubeard wants you to know that ATC was definitely from him, too.

Happy, happy 5th anniversary. And how did I get so far down the list (grin)?

Hi Julia,

Happy Anniversary!!! I love the five year logos. Nikki did a great job. There are no strangers here - I think I actually know some WOYWW deskers more than I do my friends that live in town!

I did an oops. I tried to link in on my phone and it didn't work. When you have time can you delete 88 for me? I noticed I'm not the only one that forgot (or couldn't do) an asterisk the first time around!

Hugs,
Kay

Julia - if it wasn't for you I wouldn't have this group of lovely, crafty friends who are very real and do not feel "virtual" at all to me. Instead, we are sharing our creative lives and our real lives..healthy, sick, happy, frustrated, a mess, finally organized, on vacations, cute kids, kitties, gardens, cooking...we share it all and it means the world because it is from all over the world. What a gift. Hugs and huge blessings to you for all of this and all that you do. Sandy Leigh

Well - I made it... Almost got there these last two weeks but neither hell nor high water was going to stop me from joining in today...

Happy Annniversary Mrs - You do an outstanding job to keep WOYWW going for 260 weeks - quite a committment.

Funny how it started off about what was really on our blogs and being nosey and now it's much more to do with friendship and fun...

Thank you for being OK about me dipping in here and there (you wouldn't think that I once did WOYWW from hospital and showed my bed - and then Annie posted for me the first time I was in hospital would you) - all reasons why WOYWW was one of the best things to happen to me - it really gave me to tools and know how to blog further a-field, as I was brand new to blogging when I first posted with you.

You're a legend in a blogging lifetime lol!!
