We were away last week, enjoying slightly lower temperatures in Crete and very much less amazing Internet connection at the place we were staying. Ironically, on Thursday we took a boat trip to Spinalonga and somewhere off that peninsula in the beautiful clear water my phone pinged to life and downloaded a week’s worth of messages and emails. Anyway, I did some gentle crafting…
Yup, crocheted a few poppies! Our church is doing a hugely ambitious display (in terms of numbers of poppies required) for Remembrance Day and has asked through the WI, Town Council and other organisations for donations. You’ll probably see more of these on my desk as the year proceeds!
Here’s a few shots from lovely Crete. We were too early for a lot of their really interesting places to be open for tourists which I was very surprised by, but it didn’t spoil the scenery, weather or the lovely smell of wild oregano in the out of town areas. Lovely.
Join us for some real crafting desks at Sarah’s. I’m going to be sitting in the garden under a tree not doing much for a couple days, my word I love the heat but it’s not conducive to daily routine! Take care.

Happy too hot WOYWW
Oh those colourful doors! Lovely. I have seen some AMAZING poppy displays over the years and have tried when a call came out, to send a few. But this heat does scupper any plans for woolly work. Lucky there is a bit of time. Wonder what it will be in the end?

Lovely pics from your holiday, glad you had a nice break - those doors are fab, would make a great jigsaw! I know that the WI girls are making loads of poppies here too, at least they’re quick and easy to do and not too heavy in the heat.

What fab holiday pics. That water looks so cool and inviting...wish I had a pool in the back garden [and I don't mean the paddling pool we've put out for the dog :-) ]. Love the poppies.

I've never been to Crete and it looks lovely. The heat here yesterday was beyond a joke though you know me I prefer the snow Lol! Love the poppies, they should keep you busy. Happy creative woyww, Angela x10x
ooh! I've always wanted to go to Crete, much closer to you than to me! I love the colours, the blues and the whites, and just imagining the smell of oregano wafting in the breeze is wonderful! Lovely Poppies! Have a great week, keep cool if you can, Lindart #11🍧🍨
Oh my life not only giggling over the air-con in the cupboard (I kept mine in my room all winter so it was almost all ready to go) but I'm off down the WI wormhole and patchwork heart slow stitching...... Skip the iron on interfacing part and use a glue stick to spare fabric even. Better go read your blog post now......... dum de dum........oh the wild oregano sounds delightful. Hugs Bj#2
Thanks for sharing another glimpse of the world! Love the colors! Must be some crafters living behind the colorful doors and windows!
