What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 756

Gee whizzzzzzzz. And that's all I can say about it, last week of November already!
I made a huge mess over the weekend making up some mini scrapbook pages for adding to the album I made for my Aunt last year; we'll be going up to Yorkshire again at the end of next week and I suddenly realised I could deliver in person if I got my act together!  The greater shock for you though, gentle Desker, is that I tidied up. Properly.
And yesterday I got back at about 330 and went straight to my desk. Started stamping and embossing and putting parts together to make a few more cards, so the pic shows the colour ways and I fully intend to finish these and get my long distance greetings in the post this week. Because to be honest, next week is so busy that I won't be able to, and then it's pretty much too late isn't it.
It doesn't take much to make a mess, but it's a vaguely ordered mess. I'm using buttons! Surprising myself, but trying hard to use stuff I've got and like, and buttons are certainly in that category. The gems are exploding from their box so they're getting some use too, gotta keep them properly corralled or they end up stuck to very random things. Like sleeves, soles, the floor....you know.
So, if you're of a mind, please join us do, the show and tell moments are cathartic. And...you can have a cuppa to help you round. I'll let you have the favourite mug too, if you like.

I hope its not too late for long distance Christmas greetings - because I still have to make a lot!! My parcels are all arriving in the UK though...
This year has gone so fast...

I don't have any long distance cards to send, luckily. as the cards are still piled up waiting for finishing and writing. You have lots going on at your desk but it doesn't look particularly bad (to me, it's all relative, isn't it)
I hope you get the album finished for your aunt. Happy WOYWW

Hope you manage to get everything finished for in person delivery Julia. I will be putting a card on my desk for everyone to see before Christmas and donating to the air ambulance as usual. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #3

Well done on the card making. I love the thought of the buttons and sparkles. It's a shame postage is so expensive for chunky post but the recipients will love them I am sure. Hope your Yorkshire trip goes well. We mentioned you a few times yesterday and wished you could have been with us. Another time maybe? x x x Jo

As Jo says your ears must have been burning yesterday….all good I hasten to add. It really would have been lovely to have pulled an extra chair at the table for you too….I could have found an extra sewing machine for you 😀 I think I’ve nearly finished my card making so need to get organised with the posting next lol….second mortgage here I come. Hope the visit to Yorkshire goes well.
Hugs,
Annie x

Hi Julia, looks like you're really getting on with the c. cards now. I sent my American one last week but still have some that need to go to Ftrance but should be okay however, you blink and it's too late so better get my finger out. Enjoy the trip too. Happy woyww, Angela x9x

Nice to know someone else is scrapping, shame the pages weren't still on the desk though. But what can I say - a big tidy up, that's impressive and more cards too, I've only made 2, not sure I'll make many more. Buttons as well, hope that doesn't hike the price. Hubby got some 2nd class stamps and said they were £1 each now, shock horror, heaven knows what large letter ones are now. Hugs BJ#12

Sounds like you're on top of things, Julia! I'm always amazed how the weeks leading up to Christmas just swoosh by! One minute it's summer and before you know it, we're putting up the Christmas tree! Have a fun week! xx zsuzsa #7

Favourite mug? That’s an honour! Australia and Spain cards have already gone, but I had better get on doing the ones I need to post. My husband decided we were visiting his mother before Christmas instead of after, so postage saved for those ones. I guess the tree and decorations will be coming out of the loft very soon. It was minus 2 this morning ❄️❄️., we couldn’t open the car door! Happy WOYWW. Angela #4

Lovely cards! I hope you get them mailed in time. I'm usually mailing around the 3rd week of December! Hoping to better this year! That would be awesome to get the project for your Aunt done in time, I'm sure she will appreciate it. Always best to save on stamps when we can! I hand delivered 3 cards this past weekend!
Have a great week, Lindart #16

My own favourite mug? How kind! Great cards and cheery colours.
I do hope it isn’t already too late. I don’t acknowledge Xmas even exists till some time in December!
Take care and happy WOYWW

Happy WOYWW. I used to love gems - had a huge box of them, but I just don't use them any more. There is so much craft stash that isn't in my life now. I walk around my friend's craft shop and can't believe I used to buy anything new coming out. Life really does change. I am looking at my storage cubes and realising that I still have stuff to declutter - mostly paper/cardstock that I can never see myself using. Will have another clear out soon. Ali x #15

You don't have to tell me how easy it is to make a mess in the craft room. I had people calling in to help me with setting up a camera...all John's go-pro stuff has just been sitting in its little plastic box. Any way! I have a floor AND its tidy... Then once they'd gone, I had a play and in seconds, it was complete chaos! Well done on getting started on Christmas cards...I promised myself I would make a few each month...but didn't. Sorry I'm soooo late again, I will try harder! ((Happy very Late WOYWW ((Lyn))#17
