What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 727

Last week I had an explanation by way of an excuse for it. This week, not so much, it’s just a bit of a pushed back dumping ground and I can’t go on with it like this, it is seriously getting on my nerves!
The china plate is still waiting to be traced onto. At least I move it to the top of each pile for fear of breakage. I’m actually at the point of doing it; honestly, I need to get it out of the way! There’s a bunch of coronation memorabilia and GB/Union Jack stuff for scrapbooking purposes. Our little town had a great street party and I collected some fab bits to help tell the story in my scrapbook.
**time to wallow…the Coronation was the greatest pageant I’ve ever seen…the little moments, the crowds, the inclusiveness, the palpable national pride. Loved every minute of it.**
I doctored this picture slightly…see the new stamp in its packet at left? It’s actually three packets of stamps and I have laid them artfully over the ATCs I’ve made for next week. Good grief gentle desker, next week is a WOYWW anniversary and we’re doing an ATC swap. I’m jolly nearly ready! Please contact me if you want to join in but don’t know how, and remember, if you haven’t got time, are too shy, hate the idea…then don’t join in, it’s absolutely NOT obligatory! Meanwhile, let’s get this weeks desks into the open. I’ll be late again…early start to get the car to Salisbury for a ‘sit and wait’ service. Glamorous, huh.

I agree, every moment of the Coronation was a joy to behold. Glad you gathered some memorabilia to scrap later, there were no street parties or anything round here, but that meant I didn't miss anything on TV!! Hope the car service is quick and not expensive!! Happy WOYWW Helen #2

I love your Union Jack stickers. I especially LOVE the umbrella, something needed toward the end of the coronation which I watched from the very beginning. The cable and network TV shows in the states started when it was time to celebrate the coronation in the abbey, but PBS, public broadcasting, showed it from the very beginning. Lots of pomp and circumstance. Mostly what I heard was "I am proud to be British." It was certainly quite the weekend.

The Coronation was fantastic indeed Julia and the concert the following evening was also spectacular. Hope you don't have to wait too long for the car to be serviced. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #5

We even had our own little light display in celebration. The Hubster was keen to figure out how to display the king’s face but we had too few lights and no way to line them up close enough. Google Twinkly lights and you’ll get it. We managed quite a festive read white and blue swirl, a firework display and a RW&B ripple. All wired to an old drying rack lol! Feel weird still, no more Queen. She was quite something. Ah well, time moves on…ready for the swap now!
Happy Woyww

I watched it too...so did the dogs, only missed Camilla's crowning and another bit of singing, where the dogs insisted they needed to go out, in the rain, for a pee! I've had two MOT's to deal with plus the motor bikes need doing, but I can't move them! The DVLA have threatened to take away, or a £1000 fine. I written, left messages on their website, spoken to loads of them, who all say different things. One of the bikes is too old for an MOT and doesn't need to be taxed but they still keep sending the same old notice! Your desk looks very inviting! lots of craftyness going on! Love it! Have a great WOYWW! (Lyn)#14 hey! You have a picture of a motor bike I have to click on squares before I can comment! agh!

It was a wonderful event and we loved watching it - only missed some of the earlier bits like people arriving because we had a badly timed Tesco delivery!
Hope the service goes well and you don't have to wait too long.
Have a great week,

I love most everything in your stacks. Especially the red/white/blue prints and the feeling it gives me (I'm not alone in desk messes) We saw parts of your country's celebration. Lots of exciting views. Enjoy making that scrapbook You have lots of fun things to get it started. A true keepsake once finished. Have a wonderful week ahead.

Hello Julia, nice to see your busy desk again. You're making me feel I should make more of an effort to do something crafty. The Coronation was a bit of a non event here in Scotland. The only place with bunting up was a little cafe on the main street. No street parties. So very different from the late Queen's Coronation which I remember well. My grandmother took me to the cinema to see it all on Pathe News. At school we were presented with a decorated mug and a pencil case full of chocolate. Changed days. Hope you didn't have to wait too long for your car. Have a lovely week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #15

Good morning, Miss Julia

The coronation was fabulous and I'm very envious of the memorabilia. The most recent I have is of William & Kate's wedding! I'd love to get a coronation postage stamp. Happy to pay for it.
Now about that desk...
I can't comment other than to say I've hit the same point on my work table. MUST BE DONE!

It was a historic day, that’s for sure - I enjoyed the music very much, especially the Greek Orthodox mens’ choir but felt very sorry for the tuba players who had to tip the rainwater out of their instruments. Looking forward to the anniversary and ATC swap next week, it’s going to be fun!

Yes, the Coronation made me proud to be British and when I think of all the money rolling into the country because of the celebrations, defo a time of rejoicing.
I hope you can get that plate finished soon, it will become a burden if you don't . . . try the 'hour time' . . . spend an hour and then you can pack up . . .most times one carries on but knowing you're only having to spend an hour on it . . . .
have a good week

ARRGGGH! I have been trying to add comments while signed in to Google, just for the special week of the anniversary, and have commented on places I usually cannot (Bleubeard, Susan R, Twiglet, Wipso...) and now for Diana and Kelly Google is telling me I can't comment even when I am signed in unless I change my browser setting to allow third-party cookies. Sorry guys. I did try, but that is a step too far :( I also note my other comments don't seem to be appearing either so might have all been for naught...
waaahhhh!

Happy 14th Anniversary WOYWW
