What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 709

Hail and well met, fellow Desker! Welcome to more of the same for 2023, fervently hoping it’s a happy and fulfilling Year for you.
I’ve been busy making the most of an empty nest; sorted out a cupboard or two, returned the Christmas crockery and cushions and other non-tree stuff to their hibernation boxes, caught up on a lot of ironing. And, I’ve made it to my desk….I figure it’s OK after 4 o,clock to stop doing ‘real’ stuff and have an hour or so to do cutting and sticking!
You can see that I’m erm, playing with some Gentlemen. Primarily to repair a package that I posted about six weeks ago that came back to me yesterday. With all the disruption to our postal system, I’m rather surprised and grateful that it found it’s way back. I’ve also had a some fun with teacups.
I haven’t finished yet, turns out I have a few teacup/coffee stamps and dies that I feel the need to binge use all of a sudden. Strange how that happens. I’m grateful though that I feel the need to use what I’ve already collected rather than having to sit on my hands and wish I hadn’t imposed a ‘buying new stamps’ ban!
There are two trees to dismantle and a month end to do too. Although December ended at the weekend, it’s always wise to wait till everyone gets back to work so that they can send their statements etc, lessens the chances that I may trip myself up! So now you know how my day will go, but I do intend to be at my desk from about 4pm, let’s see if it works out! Show and tell if you will, we’d like to see your new year beginnings. Any surface, any space, any creativity, we just want to see!

First day back today Julia. Hope the paperwork isn't too taxing and you can get back to your tea and coffee cup play session - looking good so far. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW Sarah #1

Sounds as if the paperwork will keep you busy and away from the 'cups'. I never got into the 'cup' stamp mood so don't have many - if any. I do have those gents though - along with the ladies and you have just given me an idea for a card to make. Thanks Julia, for inspiration and for WOYWW which is what keeps me blogging.
Hugs and Happy New Year, Neet 3 xx

My plan is to take the Christmas Decs down tomorrow - then I might get back to normal with my crafting!

The gentlemen aren’t my thing but the teacups are fab, all the colour ways work. The house always feels empty when the decs go back in the boxes but I like a clean house to start the year. Hope the paperwork isn’t too onerous.

All my Christmas stuff packed up and I can hear bins being emptied as I type. Needed to get it done so that the tree could go with the green bin collection today. Nice to think what plans I can make for 2023. Not too sure why you are playing with gentlemen but if you need help let me know!

Us sisters think alike....I was going to offer you help with the gentlemen πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ . We’ve cleared Christmas away already....I think we were both glad to see it gone this year. Onward and upward now....and I’ve certainly got plenty to keep me busy. Let’s hope it’s a good year for us all.
Hugs,

Hi there Julia, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Lovely to see you sat on your desk in these first days of the year, I love that 'gentleman-stamp'! Tea and coffee cups? I need another real one (coffee, that is) to deal with the grey and dark outside... and then I will put on the bright lights and get creative! After all, I'm always a positive gal *ha!* Hope your day goes well and you find time to play a little after four... big hug from the Netherlands! Marit #11

Hope you're managing to get back into the routine ours is all over the place at the moment. You're quite right about not trying to buy anything new and use what you've got. Maybe it should be our New Year resolution but not sure how long it will last. Does it count that I ordered something new before Christmas and it wont arrive until about the 11th January Lol! Have a nice woyww and don't work too hard. Hugs Angela x10x

DOH. Lucky number 13. {sigh}
Happy WOYWW. I am still in the throes of Covid, sad to say, but refuse to let the first WOYWW of the year pass me by. Apologies as I will still likely take the week to make it to all the desks. I did far too much yesterday with the breaking up Christmas duties, and now pay the price! Your gentlemen ate the companions to the Ladies I have, I think. Cute and useful. Not sure I have even a single teacup stamp, tho' and vow not to be temped. Two-finger typing is slow so just HAPPY NEW YEAR and HAPPY WOYWW to you. May it be a great one for us all.

So I'm still pondering how the men will aid the package repair? Is the "new stamp ban" a forever thing or does it have an end date? Need to take the decs down here yet but the main tree will stay up till 2nd February (Candlemas).
Happy New Year BJ#14

I am still filling mine . . . will take the rest of the week I reckon!!

Goodness you don't get to the cutting and sticking until 4? I confess that's often the case for me too but I consider it a failure!! Hope to be doing something here in the next half hour, I have already spent the three hours since getting up sorting the house and doing my exercises and I consider that more than enough for now!! I too am imposing a ban - wll after I've spent my Stamper's Grove vouchers that I got for Christmas. Cannot decide what I want, as, of course, I don't need anything at all. I lucked out yesterday, after being out in the morning I made myself scarce and lucked out because it was raining and hubby couldn't do planned outside work he took down 90% of the Christmas
decs. Win win!! Good luck with the end of month!! Have a great week, love n hugs,Cindy xx

It was my first day back at work yesterday, and the decorations will come down in a few days. In the meantime the great house renovation continues - we may get a nice sitting room by the end of the year (who knows!). Love the look of those gentlemen. Happy New Year and Happy WOYWW. Love & God Bless, Caro xx (#15)

Hello Julia, wishing you a happy WOYWW and hoping you get some crafting done. We have no return date so far, so trees and presents are still as we left them and will get done when we get back. Have a great week Angela #19

Happy New Year Julia! I didn't post this week as I am babysitting Jasper, quite the active 19mo old! DD stayed this week and worked from our home so we could babysit. I have been a very busy Grandma, plus she was nice enough to give me her cough and cold, so I'm dealing with that as well, but that's OK, She going down for her nap now and that's where I'm off to as well! Good plan to play after 4pm. Hope you can keep it up! Love the teacup cards. Lindart
