What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 712

Whoosh. I know it, we say it a lot, but time’s not exactly standing still for me this month! There’s fun stuff intermingled with some real adulting, though, so don’t be worrying about me, just let me whine a bit, I’ll be over it soon! Today is an out and about day, managing to combine a work trip with a much overdue meet up with a friend, don’t you just love a silver lining.  Step back though, the desk:
I’m making up a small album for my sainted Aunt, filled with pics from her birthday party last summer. It was such a lovely day and it’s been lovely to look at pictures that remind me about the possibility of really good weather! It’s not a huge album and the inserts are split, and I have a finite number of pictures, so I thought I’d steam through it and have it in the post by now. I started it at crop on Saturday, spent a couple of hours on Monday evening and a few minutes while supper was cooking on Tuesday and reckon it’ll need two or three more before it’s ready to send. Colour me surprised. So what can you see? Well, there’s me reflected in the door (gosh, I may consider a blind…). There’s the orange glow from the electric heater. There’s evidence, if you like, that I haven’t been at the desk for very long - only two pairs of scissors in view. I can’t actually say that the others aren’t buried under the stuff, but a quick glance in the holder at left makes me think I’ve been quite erm, disciplined! You can see my box filled with stickers, very useful for  embellishing and decorating these small pages. They date back years, some I’ve had to add glue to because they’ve lost their sticky. Can’t chuck ‘em though, they are still vibrant and fresh on the picture sides!
So what’s new with you this Wednesday then? As always, would love to see and hear from you.

Great reflection of you and the other side !! Your desk looks like a lot of fun going on. What a treasure that will be when finished. I think January seems like the longest month but time just flies by everyday.
The long lost sun has shown up for 2 glorious days, makes so much difference in my attitude! Happy WOYWW and enjoy a great week.

You and your scissors! I feel like every post needs a little scissor counter in the corner! I love mini albums so much, by far my favourite thing to make. Bet your aunt will be happy to receive it as a memory of a wonderful (warm!) day.
Happy Woyww

Really productive, that will be a lovely gift and love seeing your reflection too.
Just read your text back as thought it said you were 'auditing' and realised it was 'adulting', πŸ˜€

I'm actually looking forward to the end of January as February herald Valentine's, Birthday and 25th Anniversary. Whoop whoop. Curious as to where you are off to today, hope you have a good trip and meet up. Yay! Little album looks good. I need to do one for my friend's 3rd child. The first two got theirs when they were small but this last one is already 6yrs old Oh my! Hugs BJ#14

The inserts are split? Is that a good thing or bad?😳 I am sure your Aunt will be delighted to receive it. My husband complains I don’t do photo albums anymore, but I have never seen him get the photo albums I have done out. Happy WOYWW and have a great week x Angela #12

Good morning Julia, lovely to see both you and your desk this morning. I think the album is a lovely thing to do for your Aunt, she'll love it I'm sure. I have a collection of stickers that I've been hanging on to since the 80's, purchased in Athena, I use them occasionally and they are still going strong.
Hope you have a lovely meet up with your friend,

Making that album for your aunt is a lovely thing to do, she’ll really appreciate it. Well done on the scissors restraint, are you sure you’re feeling ok?! I’d have to have a blind at that window, can’t stand black panes of glass when it’s dark outside!

How lovely to make a small album for your aunt all about her birthday. I am sure she will enjoy leafing through the pages and being reminded of the lovely day she had.
You've reminded me I need to get some birthday cards done instead of pratting about doing other things.
It was heartening to hear you had some stickers from years ago, now I know I am not the only hoarder of these types of things. Though sometimes I wonder how I will use some of them.
Hugs, Neet 1 xx
ps nice to see you in the photo

Well Julia, I do have a late note… my excuse is I really did think it was Wednesday all day, Wed 26th. Okay hasn’t looked at a calendar which is quite obvious. Really what tricked me was your post coming into my Follow it email this morning made me think oh yes it’s WOYWW. ‘Cept now it’s WOYWT for me, doesn’t quite sound right. It’s actually now Friday and so think will just put the days of the week back in the box. And leave them there they go too quickly.
I’m thingy re curtains or blinds and find it stranger that folks don’t cover windows, I think of all heat going out window making room cold and it makes me feel cold too. Though at moment that’s not bad as very very very hot tonight.
I’ll stop waffling and say happy WOYWW! Albeit late an all that.
Thanks for sharing, and may God bless you and keep you and all whom you love safe and well.
Prayer hugs, Shaz in Oz. X
