What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 663

This is late in the publishing, sorry. No reason specifically; well, the usual problem..me. I typed the post, and then went to get a coffee, doodled about the kitchen, did a test so that I can report a negative result this morning and visit my Mama. Then came back to see who I could visit from the list…only to discover that I hadn’t actually posted. Argh! Too busy thinking about the next thing, must remain present!

I’m looking forward to a weekend away with The Coven. That means scrapbooking. And that means getting my stuff together. I’d like to take as much as possible to satisfy lots of ideas and use lots of lovely stuff, but I want to be economic with the space I take up…after all there will be five of us and that amounts to a lot of stuff!
I’ve already sorted two boxes of ‘stuff’ and chucked out some odd die cuts, marked, creased and damaged tags and such, and decanted bits and pieces, so now only have one box of ‘stuff’. Isn’t it amazing what you keep for years and will never use. I also have a small( and getting bigger) bag of bits to give to a local MIND group who often make cards, so it’s been a worthwhile effort. This photo shows part of my basic scrapping-away-from-home method. I loosely match photos to papers…sometimes three or four sheets, to give me some er, artistic license when I finally stop chatting and eating long enough to make up a LO!
And on my right…a very busy worktop that will pay off when I finally commit and pack the car up…bits and pieces on there that I MUST take with me. They need to stay in my line of vision, you probably understand by now quite how forgetful I am! What with rushing about sorting this lot, making sure my favourite comfort clothes are clean and ready to pack, cooking a few treats and shopping for ingredients for supper when it’s my turn to cook, it’s all added real flavour to my week! The forecast from today in the UK is pretty hideous, high high winds and lots of wet. Take care. Take my advice..stay in and create! But please show off last weeks desk work first, I would offer to remind you to do it later, but I’ll forget.

Oh don't talk about forgetting. I woke early and only just remembered WOYWW and that was only because I hadn't cleared the reminders on my phone like I must have on my tablet!

Hopefully my link/comment via tablet will work ok as not up yet!

Have a super time away scrapping, I got a further 3 scrapbooks for my birthday yesterday so I really ought to get on with mine! Yep the weather is certainly conducive for it. Hope your journey is ok take care. BJ#4

Thought I would be way down the list this morning so it was a surprise to find you were also late to the table.
Surprising too how much stuff we save, finally throw out only to find a few days later we need it! Well, that's my excuse for having such a lot of stuff all over the place.
You. have a lovely time away with your friends and let us know what you decided to cook. I love food.
Hugs, Neet 2 xx

"the usual problem..me." LOL. At least I was able to swoop in at #7 - the highest I've ever got, I think. I have so much stuff that I don't use but I need them for my sense of comfort - if I had to pack for a retreat, I would be at a loss. Have a lovely time away, Julia! xx zsuzsa #7

Strangely here in Lincoln the sun is shining and it's lovely and bright but dare I start the washing. Even packing for the Saturday club is difficult for me though the next one will be easier as we have someone coming to do a class with us and she's bringing all the stuff so we just need the usual kit of scissors and stuff. Hope the Crop is fun. Happy woyww, Angela x8x

Good morning Julia. Have a lovely time away with your group. My it’s very windy this morning! Not sure whether I am getting up this morning having been up quite a bit with a sick puppy. Not that Dolly is a puppy, but she was sick several times. Of course she seems well this morning and has even had a little breakfast! Just remembered I am taking my daughter to hospital for a check up, so I have to get up - oh well! Happy WOYWW Angela #9

Good day to You..it's my usual 3a m up and at 'em for 10 min, circulate the legs/arms, snacks for the cat, a few bending exercises and back to bed til 5/6. It's an age thing. Mr. Wind has lived here for a week,50mph Friday, hard to drive, 30 mpr today and 40's temps which will be 19 and rain/snow mix today/Thur. I am an over packer, it's always just in case, and I'd have no idea about a packing up crafty items, as it's kaos just with food and clothes. Here Quilters gather, but not paper people. Very few of us. Enjoy Mom time, and have a fantastic weekend.

Just checking in to link Jo. Sadly no blog from me this week as I’ve had two nights on duty for Gina who’s needed 5 hours at hospital Monday night (I stayed with her) being monitored for regular tightenings (every 4-5 mins) at 30 weeks! Mark was working away but had to drive home during the night as they thought Gina was going into prem labour.....panic over as they found it was a wee infection and things have now settled down again on her antibiotics. So with two nights up looking after Gina while Grandad looked after Theo and I’m not up for blogging.....late nights and 5 o’clock starts just don’t suit me lol.
Enjoy your weekend away.
Hugs,
Annie x

So glad you’re having a weekend away with your Coven, Julia. It’s worth the hassle of packing. I hope you have lots of crafty fun. I saw an article in the Guardian this am about only taking LFTs at least 30 mins after eating to avoid false positives from food acids. I don’t think I’ve read that anywhere before. Only mentioning it in case it affects your visits to your Mum.
Take care and happy WOYWW

Happy WOYWW. Have a fabulous time away. I have come to the conclusion that scrapbooking and me are never going to be best friends. In the past 3 years I have done 3 LOs, and certainly not finding the time or inclination to do anymore. I had been asked if I had any spare craft stash to donate to a local group, so will include my 2 scrapbooks (will take out the layouts and keep them) and some papers/embellies etc. Any scrapping I do is purely digital, so better to admit to that and free up some space in my Kallax cubes. All that matters is that you enjoy yourself. So if drinking tea, eating cake, laughing and chatting is all that is accomplished then it will have been a fandabidozy of a day. Enjoy.

Ooh I am excited to read you are off on an adventure Julia :) yep, I totally get that hence you are seeing weeks ago shots on my post. ( I take the photos and forget to load them) I am blaming tax season on my end. I love that you have that run of counter space to set everything that needs to go out to be viewed. :) ~Stacy #22

Haha you are not the only one, I started to type Wednesday morning, then time caught up so had to leave to go to sewing/knitting group. Then my daughter phoned to say she was coming down to see me. Later I thought I would read through some posts only to find I hadn't finished mine off!! So will have to carry it over to next week. Excuse not old age but a tapas lunch!! Sorry, Ani.

just seen your comment - have messaged - but you may see this first. Not your fault I can't work out how to link to WOYWW from my phone, so no need to apologise for publishing times! Might be giving Kew a miss tomorrow even if it re-opens as not sure transport will co-operate!! Enjoy the Coven get together. xx

Hi
Just popping in to say that the die works fine.... It's the bit that follows I can't fathom out. There's lots of layers which sort of flip.... I'll beat it.
