I'm at the delicate stage of re-identifying which dies belong to which sets and am slowly listing them for sale as I do. It's more torture than pleasure having done it once and realising that the really odd shapes that I struggled to identify last time are still really odd shapes that I don't recognise is just plain maddening!
This photo is yesterday's in real daylight. After I'd taken it, I did the month end book-keeping and VAT quarter with the files and books laid on top of this lot. Because I can't bear to keep starting again! I am going to make Christmas cards this weekend with a friend, and it's all going to happen on this desk. So there's a deadline. Thank goodness!
Show and tell yourselves will you please..I have that creeping panic that most of you have been working on Christmas whilst I fiddle about pretending I have a month in hand. Please put WOYWW in your post title and link here as normal. Thank you!

I feel your pain with the die-sorting... I would get so frustrated, some of those die shapes are just weird for what the actual image is!! I fear I have been - sort of - Christmassing... slowly. Have a good week
Oh my Julia, all I can say is at least the deadline will move you along quicker to getting those dies sorted and you will have a pleasant time making cards this coming weekend. My love of dies is fading very quickly!!
Have fun this weekend and I look forward to seeing those end results.
Happy Woyww & Thank you for hosting.
Hugs Tracey #3
Good luck with the sorting... I don't envy you!
And well done for getting the business stuff done - always the worst bit, I found when was self-employed :/
Happy WOYWW :)

PS Google is being a real pain - took me ages to comment as I cannot remember password... Wonder if others have a problem :(
So agree with you in the creeping panic as realise just how close it’s rcketing towards 25/12! I love Christmas but oh dear am way behind this year.
I acturlalay just made two total upcrycles whihc won’t blog as there is no skill in sticking a really nice card top on a base 😆
Wow, dies.. they can be a problem. I’m tryung to organise mine.
However since I’ve kept all my dies (yes tad crazy I know) IN their original cases!! So knowing who they are made by is no issue for me, just sorting to organise them.
I’ve decided to change my system but yet to be satisfied with new one! Done unmounted in sets Stamps, so now dies next..
But won’t hold my breath.
Hope you’re well Julia, in spite of the work overload and you health.
Thanks so much for your great desky share so faithfully each week.

{Calligraphy Cards - Shaz in Oz}
Hi Julia, wow I didn't realise you had so many dies! I really don't envy you the task of sorting them all. I've made about half a dozen Christmas cards - when I was trying out the triple layered stamping that Shaz had on her blog. I know I need to crack on, but now I've set myself the quilt challenge ... I'm sure we will fit everything in, we are crafty warriors hehe. Have a lovely week Heather x #7
WOW all those dies I am jealous! Wouldn't it be good if someone said Christmas is cancelled this year everyones going on holiday. Have a good week. Ani#4
Happy WOYWW. I would come and help with the die sorting/listing if I was close enough. You will be very relieved when you have your desk back. Christmas - I sorted out the box of stuff that I buy throughout the year, and wrapped the pressies for the grandchildren. However, that is it. I think that cards will be bought from a charity again. We have family coming to stay, but they will not be here for lunch on the actual day (going to their mum), so we have booked the posh 7 course lunch at a local hotel again. That will be a relief, just me and hubby, after several days with 2 toddlers in the house! We had wanted to be in Spain - everyone meets up on the beach in the morning - perhaps next year. Ali x #8
Stop that creeping panic - here is one who has not even discovered where her "C" stamps are never mind started using ink on them. Not a diecut either!
Hugs, Neet 10 xx
Even dead lines have a use- if you can find their mates! I refuse to look at Christmas with panic. Robyn 12
Hi Julia, Well that's going to keep you out of mischief for a bit:) LOL

Interesting dies, wish we knew what they were all for. Good that you got the book keeping done at least that's out of the way for a while. Have a lovely woyww if the dies don't drive you mad first, Angela x15x
I love your method of work....I’d call it layering 😂 I’m so glad I have many surfaces to work on cos I’d end up pinning the wrong bits together if I worked a layering method. Have a fun week.
Hugs,
Annie x
Ha - so much stuff and so little time! My room needs a complete re-organisation but then I wouldn't be able to find anything so I keep putting it off! xx Jo
No form of starting Christmas as yet here. I started taking time to Breathe and even watch 1/2 hour of Dr. Oz 3 days a week accompanied by cashews and 1/2 an RC Cola. Gets me focused and back to whatever is necessary. Your desk reminds me of the many times I've wondered if something happened to me WHO would even know what most of this stuff is. I can hear the conversations. !! After cleaning out my parents home I can hear echos. It's all in due time. Be patient, take time to do what you love. cry, laugh and know that people love you. Happier days ahead.
Oh what a ghastly job sorting those dies looks - some of them can be very peculiar shapes even when you know exactly what they are supposed to be! I can guarantee there has been no 'Christmassing' in my place yet, although a mild feeling of panic is just beginning to raise it's ugly head and I'm trying to think of ideas, so it won't be long before I get stuck in. Hope you have a lovely card making weekend and get loads done.
Hugs, Diana x #21
HI Julia, maybe do a blog post sharing the images that need identifying? There are bound to be some people who have them and can help you name them? But that is an amazing amount of dies!Good luck with the Christmas cards-hope they are not too much of a chore.Love and Hugs, Shaz #5 XxxX
I HATE sorting! why can't things stay in order, or where I have made space for them!
Best of luck is all I can say - don't know which is worse VAT or sorting!

Looks like a big project going on at your house. Hate to say, my desk top looks worse. Trying to catch up with cards. Lots of sympathy ones the last 3 months. Want to get into Christmas but haven't so far. Thanks for always sharing.
What a lot of homeless dies you have to organize! I only have 26 Christmas cards made so far, and I will need around 50! So I have to get busy, too! I can’t believe our Thanksgiving is almost here! Do you celebrate a Thanksgiving over there?
Deadlines are helpful, even if we don't meet them for some reason. They give us a starting point as well as a light at the end of the tunnel. You can do it!
Now about those Christmas cards. Have you thought about joining one of the myriad of challenges that progress through the year so you aren't in such a state at the last minute? I highly recommend 52 Christmas Card. they offer great challenges and are a great group. Here's to meeting your deadline! Cheers & Creative Blessings! Kelly #28
Hi Julia, I'm feeling your pain - hope you get it all worked out soon. There's nothing like a deadline to make you keep at it. And I'm sure the cardmaking session with a friend will compensate wonderfully. Hugs, Elizabeth x #26
HI Julia, I am sure the deadline of needing a place to play with company is a big motivator in getting them all sorted again. I take it this is the box that hit the floor. hopefully its going a little faster this time around. (( hugs )) ~Stacy #29
I'd admire your sticking with it. Such a thankless task. Enjoy the Christmas crafting. Always more fun with a friend or two.
Wow, that is a lot of work, I hope it is worthwhile! I think I would have done exactly what you did, putting my other work on top of this! Layers - I'm so good at that! I have a nice big pile right in front of me on my computer desk! Deadlines are good - I work best under pressure! Have a great week, looking forward to seeing the Christmas Cards from your marathon! Lindart #32
Hope you manage to get the dies sorted again soon Julia. So frustrating when you've already done the job once! I have made precisely 8 Christmas cards so I'm nowhere near done. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #17
Hi Julia .... I have moved my stamps from the windowsill! Fortunately it's not been overly sunny, so I'm hoping no long-time damage done, as they were only there a day. Thanks for letting me know - I have so much to learn still. Thanks Heather x
Oh my gosh! What an endeavor! Hope you can get this sorting/listing/selling done soon!
