What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 493

It looks a little bit business like, but it's not so bad. The files are actually Quickutz folders filed with dies. It looks as though with a couple more nights of listing, it will all be at an end, and despite the contribution to Mary's Hospice charity, I will be very glad to see the back of them.  So you can see the packaging tape, the nearly empty coffee mug and actually, some of me shows up in reflection! Oh these dark beginnings and ends! We Dunnits are off to take out an old sash window and fit a new sash window in the same hole, so there won't be any daytime visits from me - Mr Dunnit would consider it hugely unprofessional if I piggy backed on the customer's broadband to check my blog! If they are super friendly though, I might be brave enough to ask...because the alternative is to spend my non-helping times waiting, or worse, tidying the back of the van!

Glad you're up early - I need to get sorted for work too.... hope the window replacement goes well and you sneak in some desk time!! sounds much better than tidying a van!! I like the mug you're using today.

Morning Julia, hope the window fitting goes well. Glad to see you have nearly finished with all the dies. Hope they make loads of money for the hospice. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #4

Oh dear tidying doesn't sound fun in any case but hope the window sash replacement goes to plan.
I will be late getting around as lots going on here again!! At least life is not boring.
Brilliant donation in funds to Mary's hospice.. its quite a pile indeed... so hope all goes well... however they're sold.
Happy WOYWW dear Julia and G8d bless your week in every way!!
Prayer hugs.

Ugh! Tidying the van all morning!! Hopefully I will be soon sorting the lounge out and prettying it all up again but even that sounds preferable to what your morning holds.
Well done on all the charity work.
Hugs, Neet 11 xx

Happy WOYWW. I hate these dark mornings and nights. Been spending a lot of time on various websites choosing a suitable villa for a group of cyclists for our first group holiday to Spain in February. It has been really uplifting to see all the sunny and bright photos. Hope you don't spend too much of the day tidying the back of the van. Ali x #12

Morning Julia.. You've nearly come to the end of the road with your die inventory, well done. Yes it certainly appears to be darker than ever this morning. Least it's not as chilly as it usually is this time of year..
Have fun tidying up the van, if your anything like me I much prefer tidying other areas rather than the ones that really need it.
Happy WOYWW & Thank you for hosting Tracey #10

Morning Julia, I'm not too keen on the dark mornings and evenings either, esoecially when I have to drive to work in them. I hope the window fitting goes well. Where are you listing the dies for sale? I might have a look and see if I need, (or want) anymore. Have a lovely week Heather x #13

Marvellous work you’ve done with all those dies, Julia - so organised! I can understand, though, why you’d be glad to get them out of the way now, because it’s been a real labour of love. I hope the weather stays fine for the window fitting and that the job goes well. Poor you, being consigned to van-tidying duties (as well as having to do all those boring books month after month) and not being able to join in the fun. Let’s hope the customer is friendly and gives you as much broadband as you want - you deserve it!!!

Happy WOYWW,

I think these dark mornings and early evenings get to us all....roll on Spring eh? I’m not sure how much visiting I will be up to today....sciatica pretty miserable, iPad not playing the game when it comes to leaving comments on many of the blogs and sitting for any time at the laptop is just too painful for any length of time ☹️ Sorry to moan...it’s really not like me. Good luck with the sash window replacement.
Hugs,

Hi Julia, dark mornings are no fun when you have to get up and drive to work. I'm relieved I don't have to do it anymore as most schools here start even earlier now than they did before so it would have been a very early morning for us as we were expected to be in at least half an hour before school started ready for the morning meeting. I have one thing to smile about, I am now getting notification of comments back on my blog. A nice man from Google sent me a clear explanation of what to do so at least it proves somebody actually checks the messages on their forum. Hope your day goes well. Happy woyww, Angela x16x

I am not keen on these dark beginnings and ending to the days. It does cause me problems as I am not comfortable driving in the dark, finding the oncoming headlights a serious problem these days with the increasing brightness of the modern lights. I am deep into Christmas cards at the moment while still trying to get rid of dies and stamps and other STUFF I no longer want. Hope that sash window goes well and the weather is kind to you.

Wishing you well on your adventurous work detail. I might be washing windows when I return. Our replacements open to the inside and it's a nice dirty easy job and the last until spring. No doubt our warmest temps so it's a must. I don't adjust well to the darkness. Only 9 hrs or so of daylight and that's been with no sunshine. Glad to hear your charitable time is coming to an end with that project. I should wrap up my Esty and start listing my own junk and save my family from disposing of it. But DH/Sons say auctioneer is lined up!!
Good reflection of you ! when I see you use your space for double events, I am thankful I have a small room for our office area (cramped and full) but out of the way. And very Thankful, my crafty space is in the lower level (large, but cramped and full)All alone, playing music and doing my thing ! Wishing you a great day and a Happy week.

Sounds like we both have a waiting around kind of day. Thankfully mine will not involve tidying vans! Here's hoping for friendly customers who let you use their wifi.

Hi Julia, You have done so well with your friends crafting stash.

Can't you get onto your blog on your mobile, or are you like me and don't have a smart phone?

Happy WOYWW

I hope the new window goes in fast 'cause it's rather chilly to have a hole in the wall... your desk looks indeed business-like, not what I am used to see on your desk... I hope you will be able to 'make a mess' soon! Happy woyww, enjoy your day. Big hug from Holland. Marit #20

Sash windows, there's a blast from the past! We had one in one of the rooms here, when we had the windows replaced, still working too.It was interesting to see the system when they took the weights out of the wall.Hope you get to visit, rather than tidy the van. And standing around waiting for the odd times you're needed to do something is a real pain. Love & Hugs, Shaz XxxX #9

HI Julia, I am impressed the weights and pulleys are still working inside the windows. ( the first house we ever bought had them and they were connected with ropes and the ropes had crumbled inside the wall) Hopefully you can find something more fun to do than clean around the workers haha. ~Stacy # 25

Hi Julia, those dark beginnings and endings are too sad - so few daylight hours in which to play! Sash windows are lovely. I suspect this house was fitted with them before the introduction of double glazing & UPVC prompted widespread change - more's the pity. Hope your day has gone well and that perhaps you did get permission to piggyback. Hugs, Elizabeth x #23

Oh no!!! Tidying the van? That will never do. LOL I hope you have a very nice client so you can do something besides clean. LOL Creative Blessings! Kelly # 27

It must be a good feeling knowing that you are almost done with the dies - that was a lot of work! Glad they sold so well, and that you have a nice contribution to the Charity! Hopefully you will not go into wifi withdrawal! Have a great week, Lindart #29 (actually, if you DO have to clean the van - won't that be nice to have a nice clean van?)
