What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 479

Oh yes. That month end, VAT quarter, tax update and general half-way-through-the-year-overview is underway. My poor desk, it looks as if I'm working for a living. Ha. It looks, on some level, as if I might know what I'm doing. See how I shoved stuff aside and up the sides rather than totally part with the crafty feeling. All is not lost however. Hard left, upright behind the yellow file - right there in white and purple. My first 2018 Christmas card. There. I said it. Shopkeeper Gal made me. You can see it's dark outside. Just...I remembered to take this before bed last night. The only morning time change will be the addition of a large mug of coffee. One day more (oh, that would make a great song title) and I'll be clearing up and just leaving a small envelope file within my line of vision for purposes of guilt. Actually, it just makes me do something eventually, I get so sick of the sight of it!
No doubt, absolutely no doubt, that you are doing something much more interesting in your work desk space today. Please share and tell.

Your desk looks very busy... shame it's the wrong sort of work... although I am sure Mr D is very appreciative of your endeavours. Not a lot more going on here, but hopefully, soon here too! Have a good day.

Morning Julia, I bet that Coffee tastes good this morning :))
Love how you have lined things up the wall like working from an easel hee hee!
Don't envy you with that sort of paperwork though but there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Thanks for hosting, it forms some sort of order and a shade of sanity for me this week.

All the necessaries are done office wise like your good self Julia, except for the evil filing. Why I have never trained myself to do it as it comes in I have no idea. Instead I stick it in the tray until it becomes looks like the leaning tower of Pisa or the next VAT return is due.
Have a good week lovely lady

Oh that paperwork looks a bit of a nightmare - hope you get it done soon so you can have some play time. Well done on getting a C card done - I can't quite bring myself to say the word yet - not while I'm still flaking out in front of cold fans.
Hope you have a great week,

Hi Julia, thanks for the heads up on the Stix2 tapes, I do like their products, and never had an issue with any of them. All desks need a large mug of coffee, lol. Looking forward to this crop, especially as I missed the last, and after seeing shazinOz post last week, super excited to meet her.Love and hugs, Shaz xXxX

Poor you, Julia, having to put the crafting aside for other tasks that need to be done (rather than what you want to be doing). Well done on getting that first Christmas card done ... many more to come?! Thanks for sharing. Hope you have a good day - Hazel, WOYWW #15 x

Happy WOYWW. I will not mention VAT or accounts to hubby, as he was meant to be finishing getting our stuff ready for the accountants by today! We are always late, in fact this should have been done back in May. Perhaps he will stay up late tonight and get it all done, so I can drop it off when I am in town tomorrow afternoon, or perhaps it will just have to wait, creating lots of stress. He never learns! First Christmas card. None done here yet. My Christmas stash box has been put away. I have ordered some festive stuff from Create & Craft though, so next week I should have some sparkly stuff to show off. Ali x #16

First off Julia, I apologize for not leaving a comment last week, I always read them and today I went back to that post and must of totally spaced it off. I was late visiting most but I am hoping it was my 1st time of forgetting. Sometimes wonder how 30 partake and a less amount comment but it happens I guess. I really can say I miss nothing about doing 40 some years of tax, inventory, payroll, etc NOTHING. so glad I could retire. And at the time it was all great. Life outside of balancing month and year end is great !
But I am not ready for any Christmas Enjoy that coffee.

Good morning, Miss Julia!
Very busy, though not crafty, space there. You'll soon have the business tasks out of the way and back to crafting. Congrats on your first Christmas card of the season. Christmas will be here before you know it! Creative Blessings, Kelly #18

Ah, the dreaded VAT returns again, Julia. I was once told that I was nothing more than an unpaid collector of taxes for HMRC and that made an onerous job even more so! Can't believe you've made a Christmas card already - Shopkeeper Gal has a lot to answer for. :) Hope the coffee helped. Have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #26

Hi Julia, no doubt about it, your desk is more productive than mine at present! I really do need to give some thought to Christmas cards soon, so I can take some to Canada next month and save on the postage fees! Just realised the crop will be here before I know it. I'm so looking forward to meeting you all! Have a lovely week Heather x #33

Oh I am so glad I don't have to do what you do! I would screw it all up! My desk wasn't touched all week as I was in Niagara Falls, but I am hoping to get to it tomorrow after work, or maybe Friday. Work does get in the way! Have a great week, Lindart #25

Oh the dreaded accounts! I am in the middle of last month's ones at the moment. At least I've started a bit earlier this month. I hate doing it and tend to procrastinate! Hope you get back to crafting again soon.

Since we pay quarterly taxes based on last year's income I don't worry about bookwork until about Feb. as we have to send it off to our CPA (son) in March. But I don't envy you at all! I require a box of Milk Dud candy and a large Dr. Pepper to get it done. Hope it all goes well!

Thank for your comment, Julia - I had to look up sambuca as I'd never heard of it!! Kombucha has about the same amount of alcohol as a loaf of bread. What you are after is the lactic acid produced by the fermentation process by the friendly bacteria - very health-giving. So Chef Shoshi isn't going to get drunk on her Kombucha!! Sad that you can't have parsnip soup because it's soooo delicious! How are your accounts going? I still haven't finished mine... Boring job, isn't it.
