What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 456

I took this photo on Tuesday afternoon because I was actually sitting at my desk doing something. Amazeballs. Earlier in the day we had made a delivery of a 12ft x 14ft oak frame to a barn conversion site. We had to 'hang' it on the side of the van and lash it and rope it and it was very very heavy and we got very very cold. So I came home afterwards, and thought my fingers would benefit from some crafty action to warm up!
I'm in card mode, having cleared up and  put away from some weekend scrapbooking. I don't know what's wrong with me, but it's making me do stuff, so it's all good! The shield shape is not a die, it's a cardboard frame which I glued to the turquoise paper to use as a journaling block on a scrapbook page. And then changed my mind, of course. It might be there for weeks. As you can see, I'm gently combining Pixie Powders (think pearlescent Brushos) with some foiling. Am in two minds about cream or Kraft card as the base for stamping the cat. Aren't these great sorts of decisions to be made? I much prefer them to having to decide what to cook for supper or whether I should be doing something work related.
Please show and tell, some of us will be kept indoors by harsh weather, so your inspiration is a vital lifeline!

oh yes I'd much rather be making those decisions than what's for dinner! have just been making my lunch for work, for the umpteenth time, ham in a submarine roll..... love the cat! Stay warm, it's frigid today!

Morning Julia. Pearlescent brushos... sound fun! It really was raw weather yesterday - no wonder you were glad to be back inside having made your delivery!
Take care. God bless.

Definitely opt for the choice of craft related decisions then what to eat. Also much more like doing crafts then making dinner for that matter.
I think we are already on WOYWW 456, not 446?? Vicky

Happy WOYWW. After making the effort to schedule my post yesterday, our trip out this morning is cancelled due to an employee announcing via WhatsApp that he isn't coming back in again - and hubby will now be by himself at the busiest time of year for the next few days. Great! I love Pixie Powders - and that cat is cute. Ali x #7

Love the cat which looks good against that background but might look good against the other choice. Decisions decisions decisions! Never had Pixie Powders but if i had I guess my cats in my Thursday journal would have been painted in them.

Now you have really thrown me with the numbering!! But yes I totally agree any crafting decisions are better than cooking! BJ#8 with a much improved back.

Decisions decisions 😀😀😀 my mum would have said....you’ve got too much choice my girl. Such lovely things on the go and how lovely to be making that sort of decisions. I’m with you about having to decide what to cook for tea....it tends to be done at the last minute and is what comes to hand first. Hope you’re not working too hard and are keeping warm while this beast from the east visits us.
Hugs,
Annie x

Ooh another person using pixie powders, I think I may have to get myself some as they look lovely.
Stay warm.

Hi Julia on this 'cold and frosty morning' Pixie powders just sound such fun though I have really enjoyed the brushos :-) Crafting far better than deciding on what is for tea or cooking it! :-) I like the cat on the background you have it - not sure with seeing re cream background. Stay warm, Anne x #13

Hi Julia, I should be at the gym now but as the weather here is not really good for driving , I've had a lie in...naughty me! I understand your dilemma with the choices of card, it's that which can often cause me to put a project on one side and start something else Lol! Have a great woyww and happy crafting, Angela x16x

Oh yes crafty decisions and dilemmas are much more interesting!! Glad to see you have been getting on with craft stuff - that lashing things to the side of the van sounds quite horrible and far too energetic!! By the way thank you for my badge which arrived safely and is now pinned to my 'Ally Pally' bag for safe keeping. Happy Wednesday, Cindy xx

Loving the little cat and the shiny bits - can't have too much shiny and can't have too much Kraft!
Hope you don't have too much bad weather your way - we've had a light sprinkling, very unusual for this area and I'm hoping that will be it for now as I have very little ability to stay upright on it.
Keep warm and snug,
Hugs, Diana xx #18

Hi Julia, we too have a little snow, nothing much though. Love the cat, great stamp. You've reminded me I have two pots of Pixie Powders in a drawer, bought cheap somewhere. Not tried them yet. Love the card on the deckchair, very cool. Love & Hugs, Shaz XxX#3

It's a gloomy, rainy day here in Texas. Much better than last week when we had ice and no internet! I'm liking that cat on the tag that you're working on.

I can relate to 'harsh' weather! It has been miserable here dropping to -20°c at times. My old bones just ache!! I really like Kraft card but seems like everything I make with it comes out dark looking to me. I generally just use white now days! Hope you have a great week. Vickie #32

Heather M said...

Hi Julia, sorry I'm late visiting today. Crafting decisions definitely far easier than choosing what to cook. I usually leave that to Mr M. He's a better cook, more adventurous and he likes cooking. Who am I to deprive him! I like the cat, I don't think I have any pixie powders. I've realised I must make a subconscious note of what people talk about or show on their desks then weeks later I buy something similar to try and have no idea what to do with it. Will be fun practising though! Have a lovely week Heather x #31

I need to do the opposite of you. I need to stop making cards and get back on scrap booking. I am so far behind. Lovely desk.

Yesterday was gloomy here and we even had 15 minutes of big fat snowflakes! Today is gorgeous and much warmer. I also prefer decisions on crafting over dinner ideas. At least I finished most of our tax stuff and can get back to crafting! Have a great weekend!
