What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 453

Here's a magical twofer for you. It's what I did on Tuesday, because I wont be near my desk on Wednesday - this is scheduled so that I can get going without side-tracking myself!
First thing on Tuesday, it all looked like this, and I have to admit, I could have sat at this and carried on without hesitation.

The necklace looking thing is actually a floral die and I didn't use it. It slid from the over- full die file at left. The glasses are sitting on a card I was working on; trying to use some scraps, nothing major! Then it was all change and this is the last of the book work that I intend to do this week! It took an act of will to tidy and re-arrange to get the books out...month end, VAT quarter and here you see some work I was doing on my lovely Mama's file after I'd tortured myself over our business stuff.
The blue thing is a Bluetooth speaker and the clear tubes at right are from a haberdasher's - they usually hold buttons for individual sale, and will make carting stuff like buttons and brads etc to a workshop very much easier.
If you've read the post about a new badge, then thanks for asking, it will be on it's way very soon! Meanwhile, link your desk and explanation here. I hope we aren't all doing the books. Yawn!

Well Helen and I were up chatting on your Facebook timeline awaiting linkup and Neet pips us both to the post - LOL. I guess work has to take precedence hope you've sorted the books. I've gone and hurt my back so not sure what I'll be doing/not doing today now! BJ#2

No chance of me doing the books - I aint no book keeper - couldn't even use the fancy dancy adding machine at my friends - much to her disgust. OK so I used a calculator but not one of those shop adders.
Enjoy doing your momma's file, am sure that is much more fun than figures.
Love the button holders - and I do know what they are.
Hugs, Neet (no 1 'cos she is still up) xxx

TWO desk pics - showing two sides of your life..
I confess I prefer the 1st one - lever-arch files make me nervous... Always seem so officious :/

Happy WOYWW. Too early for an intelligent comment, so I won't say much! I think an email should be in your inbox re. a badge. However, our internet keeps cutting out this morning, so let me know if you don't receive my address. Ali x #5

My deepest sympathies dear Julia that the horrible VAT return has come round yet again. Saying that it does keep the brain cells ticking over as I do mine the old fashioned way, writing it up in a book.
I’m impressed you do the Bluetooth thing, that’s something else I’ve not updated myself on yet. We have a wireless in every room haha.

Oh bother, just realised I didn't publish my comment again! Hello Julia. I hate paperwork- maybe cos there was lots in a former life :-) Hope you get chance to play later. This is a shorter version of my original comment as I must go and get ready - still in PJs :-) I will be back later to comment on desks. Anne x #20 ( at the moment)

This is my first link to your Workdesk Wednesday as I paint, not so much stamping and other things. But, I do love to look at what you all do and will join in when I feel that I have something to offer.

no, I actually got the copy of the books off to the CPA last week so, I have some down time right now. which is good for puttering around.
The floral die looks interesting like it could tuck around corners or something :) Happy Hump Day Julia.

Hurrah on the accounts being done (I have 3 mates who are accountants and we never see them this time of year-hectic time)!
I have some of those tubes too! Like you said perfect for transporting (and take up very little room).

Books are the very last thing you would ever see on my desk! LOL! I'm absolutely terrible at math or anything resembling keeping track of numbers! Your desk looks nice and creative, and I can see why you could have carried on for a long time! Once you get in the "groove" it's hard to stop! Have a wonderful week, Lindart #38

eh, yes, I do have to get after our year end taxes soon, and my Mom's also. The last thing I want to do when I work with numbers all day! But the top photo looks promising! I hope you get back to that aspect of your desk soon! Have a good week.

Hi Julia, I'm so fortunate as I no longer have to do the books. It's a job that needs to be done but it's also a real pain. So, I may not be doing books but I'm having a grand old time listening to them. Have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #30

Hi Julia! I am not doing the books; luckily my hubby does the books and the taxes! He did that yesterday, so I don’t to mess with them. I just play! And blog! LOL. Those are sure great containers for buttons and things! Happy WOYWW! #37

I thought I left a comment 1st thing, but I don't see it. My son gave me a Blue tooth speaker and I totally love it. I am so glad to be retired and not have to go thru year end tax, payroll, inventory and here the final State, and Federal Government reports. It's all computerized now and the govt's way of doing things are totally ass backwards. Can't believe the stress I've lost and I get a mess thinking about it all now. 43 Years of accounting and audit work.
I like the tubes would they hold washi tapes? Enjoy a lovely week

Hi Julia, sorry I'm late doing the rounds! I prefer the first desk picture ... looks like fun. The second one looks too much like work! My bluetooth speaker is bright pink ... so i don't lose it! Have a lovely week, Heather #31
