What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday WOYWW 380

My word, I'm a bit surprised at the number - 380! I don't know why all of a sudden it should hit me - perhaps because for the last 30 or so my poor desk has seen very little craft action. I seem to be getting back to the feeling that I'd like to be doing something craft related though. So now I just need to clear all the foreign objects...

I'm not overwhelmed with, but certainly up to my eyes in paperwork!  It all relates to my late father's Estate and so I need to be sure of my every move, and looking through it in batches before filing it helps me better absorb things I think I need to know about. There's light relief at hand - sight of my tool bag for crop days, and on the iPad deckchair is one of a couple of beautiful cards that Sally sent me. I'm thinking of it as a challenge - to actually make something and send it to her! The desk will be clear before the week is out - so dare I put in writing that I have intentions..? Hmm, it's also a bit weather dependant, am led to believe that the rest of the week may well continue to be lovely. In which case...no chance!
Share your work space with us will ya - link your WOYWW entitled post here so we can browse at leisure! A friendly bird reminded me that I failed to mention the WOYWW Crop and a new date....details on previous post AND a page link at the top of this page...

Morning Julia. Exactly as mine looks this morning! But I wussed out - didn't dare photograph mine, just described it...
Take care, dear girl, and thanks SO much for the beautiful card.
God bless.

Isn't it unbelievable the weather, it is mid September and we are having a heat wave, but it will be over soon. Hope we'll find our proper creative mojo back very soon. Vicky

Interesting to read your post about straightening up and putting away stuff...funny really cause that was my post today. I would rather have my mess then all the estate paperwork. Have a great day. Vickie #7

Hello Julia. Yes paperwork is like laundry it never ends and if you close your eyes to long the piles keep growing. I should also get on top of my paper work as the desk that is never seen is piling up and have to take a day or two and tackle it. I am sure with everything that has been going on in your life and you get back into things the creative flow will be a mainstream again. Have a wonderful week. Hugs ~Anne L#5

Hi Julia
I've come out from under the desk after the raging storm of last night to find a desk and blog I recognise as my own....paperwork and no crafting for weeks.
I'm to get past this phase myself. Good luck with it dear lady you are remarkable.
Have a great week.
Lynn xx

Bless you...that sure is a lot of paperwork. I really hope you manage to sort it soon so life can move on for you. It's good to hear Mojo has returned from her long holiday and you feel more like creating.
Have a good week.
Hugs,

Oh I remember that paperwork nightmare only too well! My suggestion would be grab a box file, some dividers and a large handful of papers and sit outside in the sun. Once you have finished that handful walk away and do something nice as a treat so you won't feel guilty or like you are procrastinating because you made a start. It also means after about 3 times doing this you realise how much headway has been made without realising it.
Alternatively get sis back and delegate 😀😀

All I can say is make the most of the lovely weather whilst we have it. The weather men are already predicting a harsh Winter so you get out in that sunshine.

Hi Julia. I'm finally back after what seems a long absence :-( Have actually managed to start crafting again as well. Looks a beautiful day again though and we are having granddaughters after school so not much crafting today - well unless they want to of course :-) Have a lovely week. Anne x #17

Hi Julia, the weather has been lovely but you're right it's not good if you have work to do but maybe it will cool down towards the end of the week not that it will make all that paperwork any easier. Take care and just give it a go when you can. Happy woyww, Angela x 19

I don't envy you sorting all that out. There seems to be an awful lot for you. Luckily for me I pass that kind of thing on to the other half.
Just seen about the crop changing, much better date for me so I may make it this time.
Hugs, Neet 22 xx
ps have had to do this twice as it wouldn't send for some reason

Oh Julia, paperwork be glad you are young! Dad passed 3 yrs ago and still things come up. Our insurance in the States is a mess and now I am dealing with Mom's changing environment and it is a true headache. The question WHY ME is a big part of my vocabulary. I'll ask the heavens that we all get a little MOJO with the changing weather and can do what we love. I'm off for the day also a list a mile long and I'll recuperate tomorrow. Enjoy whatever you can and Laugh a lot. Thanks for hosting.

I'm sorry to hear about your father's passing, and will keep you in my prayers as you work through the paperwork of his estate. Peace.

When you finally get your creative mojo back, it will be like the floodgates opening, I promise! Paperwork is not much fun, especially when it relates to a loved one's passing. It is in a way therapeutic though. My husband and his brother are selling their late mother's house at the moment and although I can see that it is painful for them, clearing out the house has helped a great deal with the healing process. It gave them plenty of time to reminisce about their childhood growing up in that house, sorting through all the memories, deciding what to keep and what to let go. Selling the house will be a type of closure in a way. Best wishes and thanks for your visit Julia!

Happy WOYWW. I hate paperwork. I was a PA/Secretary for years and it should come easy to me, but my policy now is to put as much as possible in the recycling bag! Hope you clear a space soon big enough to get a card or two made. However, enjoy your fab weather whilst it lasts - will soon be 'proper' autumn. Ali x #31

Sympathies - my Dad's "estate" took me nearly a year to sort out....and made me ensure my paperwork is always up to date and sorted!
Catch 22...love the sunny weather but would love a day a little less sunny to go and craft

My brother in law told me once that you can get through anything if you know there is a light at the end of the tunnel - even if you can't see it right away. I've never forgotten those words. I think of the card from Sally as your light at the end of the tunnel. You'll get there :-) Estate details are important and you are doing as you should. You'll be treating us to crafty goodness soon. Creative Blessings & Hugs! Kel #39

A lot of paperwork! I'm sure you can get through it all and clear off the desk so you can have a clean space to craft on. Sometimes I think having a written note helps - at least it helps me! Otherwise I tend to 'forget' to do it.

Well, as you know, I'm all for putting intentions in writing! Translation: to do lists, planners, journaling...as long it's on paper! I feel for you having to go through all this. It's been three years since I lost my Mom, and we're still dealing with estate stuff. But hopefully we're towards the end of it all now. Hugs! Sandy Leigh

Hi Julia, been there with the paperwork, in my case my late mother's. As a PA/secretary for many years I still get some satisfaction at having stuff filed away neatly. However, I'd say it's too nice out in the sunshine to be either filing or making cards today - I'm sure Sally will understand. Happy WOYWW. Hugs, Elizabeth #38

You've doomed yourself putting your intentions in writing. Now you'll never get to them. That's how it works for me anyway. Happy WOYWW to you and all!

Better late than never - A google+ query as I still can't comment on a couple of pages without it wanting me to sign-up and one I dearly would have liked to. I did ask her friend to put me in touch but to no avail. BJ#46

The picture was taken early this morning... the post was just finished at nearly 10 pm lol. I get so distracted some days. May the Force be with you while you do the paperwork. I am so glad you like the cards! And you know that it was months overdue, so no pressure : D.
