You see the detritus of a short session, is all. Am trying to use the box of coloured scraps as often as possible. It's crop this weekend, so there will actually be more scraps this time next week! Argh. You can see the big scissors. Someone must have borrowed them. I don't use them more than once in a flood for paper crafting. You can just see the upside down heart punch, the heart featured in yesterdays post. And that's it. Not overly interesting, huh!
Inspire me do, link your WOYWW Blog post here so that I (and others) can visit you. You must be doing something more interesting!

I love maps too. There is a fine line between staged and unstaged. Thanks for the snoop around!

I have a big atlas from Mum's that I intend to alter one day... ha ha.... great desk - love the cards... (I knew as soon as I left the computer to go and make my lunchtime sandwich, the link would appear!!) Have a great day xx.
I can see your Glossy Accents and another glue (Scotch brand?) by it's side which takes me back to America and my friend's search for the Ultimate Glue. This has taken years, and I do mean in the teens, but she finally believes she has found" the one." Trouble is with my jet lagged head I cannot remember what it is. Do you have a favourite glue? If so what is it and why? Perhaps a topic we should look into or would that result in too many offshoots?
Your cutter looks a bit like my Tonic that I don;t know whether to get rid of now I have the Cutterpillar or what - I hae loads of cutters - doh!
Have a good week.
Hugs, Neet xx (1) I think
I'm not sure my post today will inspire you but it did inspire others cos I have already sold 3 of them :-) Think I'm onto a winner :-)
Hugs,
Annie x
And beautiful they were too! Shame I couldn't find Sumatra for my own nefarious purposes :-D
Hugs, LLJ 13 xx
Crawling in today in the dark, I'll be glad when the mornings turn lighter Mrs D, can't be doing with it.
The VAT finally got finished on Sunday, absolute absolute last minute. They'll put something like "always the last but she got there" on my tombstone or "the queen of procrastination"
Have a good crop

Never thought of using an old atlas but I could see a lot of manly makes using one of those hugs Nikki 10

I look forward to seeing lots of cards made from the atlas pages.

That´s a good idea! To use old maps for cards....lovely cards. Every time I read your posts I think ´should start cardmaking again!´
Do you have any idea where I find TIME? Hihi...that´s the ongoing story....TIME
Have a nice week!

Can never decide if I am more inspired by my desk being messy or tidy lol, think I'm in the middle!! Must get all my pens and pencils in pots like yours so they are to hand, rather than in original tins :-) Good to be back.

Using the old maps sounds fun, Julia. I've got some old books I should really use, but haven't got round to it yet. Maps are so decorative! Ah, scraps... don't you just love 'em? We never come to the end of them. I must start using some of mine again!
Happy WOYWW,
Shoshi #21
Oh yes - I am a map lover too. I bet the atlas will transform into some fab ideas. x Jo
Hi Julia, I love your busy desk. Like the look of the cards at the front.
Hope you have a lovely day. Sue
I also love using maps in my backgrounds. mmm, boxes filled with yummy pieces of scrap paper.Have fun this weekend at the crop.
Hi Julia, I agree with Neet, glue is such an important issue. Would love to hear what others think is the best type. I am using my hot glue gun more at the moment. Wishing you a happy woyww and great crafting, Angela x 26
I too had old maps out this week - freebies on holiday ready to recycle but not quite sure what on yet. Have a great crop at the weekend - I will have to go to one of those - Christine aka Bishopsmate has talked about crops x Jackie 25
Always so happy to get to visit your space each Wednesday and see what you have had going on since I visited last! I love old maps and just know you will use many bits and pieces in your art!
Glenda #31
I love it when you read a post and get some inspiration and ideas... Maps, eh? Never actually thought of that. Then Jackie Mackay comes up with the most amazing idea - free maps from on holiday - super!
I'll know what to do next time I need a scrapbook layout idea - I'll just get out those maps I always collect on daytrips and the like, and get myself a great background!
Thanks! :)
Have a wonderful Wednesday :)

I refund an atlas in my tidying recently... must make use of it... and the other six zillion supplies I have!
Have a good week Julia.

It's good to have a box of scraps around to use. I have so many that i have put them in transparent pockets by colour group.
Have a good week,
Lisca
wow! it's 6am here in Florida and you have almost 40 artist linked up, that is awesome! :)
I try to dip into my scrap pile all the time, but it seems to grow bigger all the time. I just need to throw the whole pile into the recycling bin sometime and start all over. Happy WOYWW, my friend!
I'm the exact opposite, I even use my big scissors for fussy cutting! I'm much more comfortable and in control of the bigger ones.
I love maps and just last week I picked up old hard-back sheet music books at a library sale. I'm willing to share pages - just need an address.
Creative Mess on my desk as well... but look quick, a new mess will be there next week.
Creative Blessings! Kelly #41
Busy desk. I like the cards that appear to be sitting on it! I've got a bunch more scraps I have to use - they seem to multiply like bunnies! Have fun at your scrap this weekend.
Sharon K #44
The cards on your desk are looking pretty Julia. Enjoy you crop at the weekend. I'm on a mission to use stuff up but the scraps just seem to grow in my boxes too. Barbxx
Well done on using the atlas - I like to recycle as much as I can. Have a great time at the crop Linda #47
I've used many old maps on my ATC's over the years. Some really "OLD" maps and atlas' are worth big bucks. Enjoy a lovely week, spring is only 38 days away here.
Hey Julia, I don't think it looks staged. I love Maps. I bought my Hubby a giant map of London when he moved to be with me, it goes with us everywhere. Cx #46
We're so nosy, it's always interesting! Actually, sometimes the completely clean desks don't have much to see, it's more fun if there's something in the works happening . . .

Before Twiglet points the finger... I didn't borrow your scissors! I have a reputation for theft of vital tools! The box of papers looks great. I have a box of fancy fabrics on my desk that seems to be getting fuller not emptier despite my best efforts! Happy crafting, Max #52 :-)
Hi Julia, thanks for the peek! While my desk isn't truly any more exciting than yours, I'm happy to be back hopping around after a long time off! Crystal
I wouldn't dare question your staging of your desk or not otherwise you might stab me with those giant scissors! You've got some cool looking cards front and center, especially that one with all the colored banners. Judy #@53
I love your floral cards - are all the flowers individual stamps or is it one collage stamp - they are just gorgeous. I still have pangs of guilt cutting up old books, but I grit my teeth and do it anyway - all in the name of art!
Have a great crop,
Diana #53
Well I'm probably the end of the list today. But I have to say I LOVE a good box of paper scraps! In fact, I wish someone would do a challenge...see what you can do with your paper scraps! I have a great heart die for my Big Shot, and I have been diecutting with it like crazy lately. Cheers and hugs! Sandy Leigh
There is always something interesting going on with your desk. Mine is abandoned, left feeling unloved and lonely as I deal with back issues that have kept me first floor bound. Hopefully though both you and I will be more our creative selves and our desks will feel the love once again!
Angie #58
I am asking forgiveness for the messing around I have done today - I am on the mend, honestly!
I have linked in twice - once with the wrong one!
I have linked and commented on last week's post!
I am going back to bed!!!!!
have a good week

Hi Julia. Your desk looks busy. How fun to have Jan so close. You too are like peas in a pod! I need to get involved with some local craft groups. I think I'd be more active and diverse in what I do.
Happy WOYWW
Hugs
Kay
We're all on a heart theme this week - must be getting near Valentines day! Don't know about you, but I find the scraps pile just keeps growing - I seem to create more scraps trying to use up the ones that are already there!
Bernice #22
Paper scraps are always useful, and there's always more of them! Lots going on there. I too would happily cut up an old atlas (if I had bought it second hand and had no emotional attachment to it). Hmm, I think I need to visit the op shop soon :)
Have a great week Julia.

I love maps too, Julia, and have quite a collection. My favourites are old maps and Ordnance Survey because they show all the little lanes that are perfect for strolling down looking for wild flowers. Talking of wild flowers, those on your cards look lovely. Good luck with using up those scraps. I find it a never-ending task. Have a great week, and enjoy the crop at the weekend. Hugs, Elizabeth x #64
Hi Julia, I've been looking and looking, but cannot find the atlas! I love maps! We bought a lot of maps for just .146 pounds each! You can imagine- we bought a whole big box!!! Now I have wooden letters covered in maps, and scrapbooks, and all sorts of things! Have fun in your crop! patsy
Love the idea of of using an atlas to create the cards. Would like a closer look at them to see how you used the pages. Admittedly, I will remove waded up paper towel or turn bottles around so labels can be seen but other than that, what you see on my desk is really what it looks like.
Just uploaded my WOWDW post link - I love to see desks that are almost or more than as messy as my own!!!
Kathyk
thank you for your comment.. I'll follow up your advise..
Re. that zentangling business ... to my understanding (what I've read), doodling is done "mindlessly" with no thought (not my words) and zentangling is done whilst paying attention, and being "in the zone" (also not words).
That ancient Letraset has to be at least 30 years old, probably more!
RosA
I think the paper scrap in front is one I have too... I should use my box of scraps more often. Maybe I have to put the box on my desk too? The cards look awesome! HAve fun this weekend at the crop! Love from Holland (all quiet today, yay!) Marit #37
Interesting as always. Great way to use an old map too. I've been distracted of late so not been about much but once I got Keagan settled at his new job I'll be right back in the mix. Take care Zo xx
Thanks for your visit, Julia. Glad you like my new stash. That was the smallest pack of sisal I could get! Hopefully I'll have time to start using my new stash in the next few days - been really busy lately, and only just finished my hubby's Valentine card in time - it's now on my blog.
