T Tuesday

Me and that LLJ went out for a morning of window shopping and catching up. We went to a small local town called Stockbridge, famous because it sits on the River Test which is a joy of clear waters and trout as big as you like. Stockbridge is pretty, for the consumer it consists of one road of shops and cafes...it is a nice wide road as it was a well used drover's route. And it quite likes to think it has an upmarket charm, which visitors like Jan and I perpetuate! It's small; it may not be a town, but it has an art gallery, and that probably describes it better than anything I can write!
Of course we stopped for coffee. And despite the odd weather, we sat outside. Next to the river - which you can only just make out. It wasn't cold, but it was very overcast and we were the only ones sitting outside for a while. Yes, we experienced a spit spot of rain, but hey - we're British! It was a lovely, diverting morning. And this morning as I survey paperwork and garden chores, I thought to share it with you by way of a diversion for me!

Gosh Julia, this looks like a simply wonderful spot to sit and enjoy coffee. As for a bit of rain, I always say the rain just makes my hair more curly and that's always a good thing.

Thanks for sharing this lovely setting and your coffee with us for T this Tuesday. What a fun outing this was.

Your table was quite close to the river! love this little scene and the quiet moment that could be enjoyed...even with a few sprinkles of rain!

So glad you received your atc...glad you like it! I'm delighted that it arrived in good time...I wasn't at all sure how long it would take. thanks for letting me know you received it. I will probably post a scan of it on my blog next week, and you are more than welcome to show it on your blog if you so desire.

Wishing you sunshine and smooth cups of tea/coffee this week! happy T day!

What's a "spit spot of rain" when you have such wonderful views and fine fresh air to enjoy along with a nice hot cup of coffee.
We got a kick out of the weather forecasts when we were lucky enough to visit your fair country a couple of years ago. They used the phrase "sunny spells" quite alot (glass half full we were thinking).
We did not let rain daunt us in our travels and enjoyed each and every moment in the UK.
Lovely to read your description of Stockbridge!
Happy T Day and Happy August oxo

That looks like a very nice location for a spit spot of rain...or a bit of sun.

That is a well made cuppa tea if I may say so. Love that you can sit by a river, that would have been so relaxing
