What's on Your Workdesk? 303. really.

I took this photo on Tuesday lunchtime, because I was unsure about my movements for the rest of the day and tomorrow morning. That's the thing about Mr Dunnit's being used to work alone. He forgets to tell me that I'm required or not and my 'planning' is shot. 'Specially on the days that he comes home for lunch and then casually suggest I go back to work with him - whaaaaa? My afternoon! Anyway...here is Tuesday's....it does look different now...I've put the cards away!
There's a couple of cards for workshop samples and the notebook that I use to write the recipe and remind me of the ingredients to take to the workshop. There's a new stamp at the far left by the heat gun..another flower, I can't help it. Next to the iPad stand which is rapidly becoming a blank card stand, is an Artemio box containing two sticks of sealing wax and a Fleur de Lys seal. I love it and was going to use it on a workshop card - but I have to check the shop's fire system first, the wax smokes alarmingly! The rest is just detritus really. In the clipboard - that note says OnPluto and is underlined. I cannot remember what it refers to. I know I was on the phone when I wrote it. If it was you and I that were talking, and it's important, please visit and crack me on the head with the details!
Meanwhile, please link your lovely work spaces here..we like to see what you've got and what you're doing. It's good for the crafting soul.

Your desk always has stuff to see and I hate it when I find a scrap of paper on my desk with a random number or comment on with no idea to where it is suppose to go with. It happens to us all at times. Happy we'd and may you have some play time.hugs Nikki C

Morning Julia. Lots to peek at - and do I spy a couple of daffodils there in the garden. I understand the frustration of plans going out the window... if John needs me, well, he needs me, no matter what I'm doing or planning...
Take care. God bless.

Sounds like you need to plan a fire drill! That way you can try out your wax and if the alarm goes off tell them it is a fire drill!
Lovely busy desk as usual... What are the two gadgets with holes in them? Pencil sharpeners?
Have a good week,

Great looking desk this morning! How frustrating about not ever knowing your work schedule, but I think it's wonderful that you can work together. I also keep a recipe notebook. It's a carryover from when I was on a design team. It helps me to remember what I did.

OnPluto..is it a Twitter note? I don't twitter ! I've a LOT on notes like that, even phone numbers that I don't have a clue why I wrote them down.
I totally understand day planning. My turn will come April thru June and again in the fall. Even Sundays..farming starts and I'm on call. thank goodness for cell phones. Now it's waiting for new baby calves.
I like the birds on the wire too. And the bits of green grass out that awesome window.
Have a fun week.

A recipe book for your card ideas - I love that! I have a seal waxy thing somewhere that I got in a kit long ago and the little mold thingy to seal it with--I must find that. Happy Wednesday m'lady! Sandy Leigh

The new flower stamp is clearly a case of 'can't have enough of!!' Nothing wrong with that!! Having a retired hubby now means that he can suddenly suggest something nice - too good to turn down, but the end of plans for a crafty day!! Ooooh! Sorry, that sounds really mean - didn't intend rubbing it in!! Hugs, Chrisx 48

I love Jan's idea! {LOL} Flower stamps, paper flowers, painted flowers, real flowers --- how can we not have lots of flowers?? I can't stop making them, as you can see on my blog. As for jotting things down -- I do it all the time, then either misplace the note or forget what it was about. I call my daughter a lot to get her to jog my memory, because most of the jotted notes have something to do with her anyway. LOL Hope you remember. Nann #49

Your last comment about forgetting what your note OnPluto was for, cracked me up. I've been known to do that sometimes. I hope you have the whole day to work on your cards and not be interrupted to go work with your husband. Blessings!

I hate when my planning gets messed up by someone or something... in fact, I just experienced such a thing! I had to glue a number of large papers onto large cardboard so I thought to be smart... I bought spray glue, layed a plastic on the diner table and sprayed the cardboard and the paper with it. The glueing went fast BUT... the floor got all sticky (because of the glue-mist) and I had to clean the diner-chairs ánd mob the floor...waaahhhh... I didn't plan on cleaning the living room at all! Anyway, it's done now. I won't use spray glue again for this (as I used both cans already and I'm not even halfway the job...) Back to glueing with a brush - less expensive and less messy (but more work!) OK, the floor is drying, it's half past 1 pm and there's still time left to play. Hope YOU have time to play too! Happy woyww, Marit #45

I guess having plans sidetracked is a marriage inevitability-very unthoughtful of them! I hope you find out what your note meant. Have a great week.

Oh Julia, that would make me crazy, not knowing if I was going to have to work at something else until the time. It drives me nuts enough to think hubby will be off for the day, only to have him stay home and be underfoot.

But, in all of those small problems, there is much to be thankful for, right?

Happy Woyww!

Hi Julia, late commenting as I've been happily wasting my morning waiting for a delivery! Idiot driver has already tried twice, it might help if he rang the door bell instead of tapping on the glass- men! I too managed to set off the smoke alarm in my workroom using sealing wax, lol. Makes a change from the cooking, though.Love the random note, rofl. Have a smashing week, huge hugs, Shaz xx

I am sure you are right about use picking up our cold from the NEC. I saw Bob Neill and his machine last November at the show and thought it looked good. It is the sort of transformer that Geoff would have approved of, heavily over engineered so it should be tough. I would like to draw my own designs but until I am proficient, I will content myself with using all my Clarity stamps and stencils. I saw a lady at the show just sitting there drawing a landscape on her piece of wood as if it was just a pencil in her hand. It was stunning, a picture of the sea and South Stack Lighthouse, a scene she knew well, drawing just from memory. Fantastic. xx Maggie #14

Men do have a habit of sending our planning down the pan!! I had to serve hot dogs and nachos in a party dress because my husband forgot to tell me that the xmas do was on the same day!! Hey... I got 67 for the second week in a row. That's just cool!!

Lots of wide open space on your desk. I can see how your ipad rack has become the card base rack but it is so convenient. I can seeing it be a catch all rack. Hey, at least you are using it!

Argh, I forgot to link up last night (which was wednesday for me). Hope I'm not too late to join the party. Nice to see all sorts on your desk. Men are really good at not telling you something important until the last minute. Drives you nuts doesn't it.

This is a really interesting week Julia :) I hope we get to see how it turns out with the wax. Can you heat the wax with a hairdrier? People use hairdrier for melting crayon, so why not wax as well and I think it will make less smoke :) I hope it will work for you :)

Hello Julia! Been a while since I have popped in to say hello! Life has gotten so crazy-but I sure miss WOYWW! Your desk is pretty darned clean these days!

Lizzie said...

Yeah it was me on the phone - I was calling from my holiday on Pluto! (haha!)
The secretary in the office where I used to work, had a sign above her desk, which said "Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine."
Perhaps a bit of "Husband training" is required - I suggest you start scheduling your time in a diary; when he wants you to go and do work stuff with him, consult the diary. A few, "No, sorry, I've got something planned." might make him a bit more able to think ahead and "book a slot" with you in advance!

Haven't made my blog post yet, but I'll be back soon. Have a lovely weekend!

Thought I had commented but now seems as if I haven't. Doh!
How familiar is the word on a piece of paper - usually telephone numbers with me. I make notes alongside things and then have not a clue what they mean when I come to them afterwards. Nog sure what this is called - not just forgetfulness anyway.
