Well folks, this is the last of November's desks. That went by in a flash, huh! Inevitably, mine's got Christmas stuff on it, but it's not too much of a mess. That's because I haven't had a chance to sit at it for more than a minute since last week. But I plan to.
Yep, a box of teabags in the foreground. I had an idea to make the tea bag holder as a gift for a couple of people, and my prototype is there in yellow...not totally enamoured of it yet, may have to have another run at the construction and tweak it to suit me better. The stars on pegs are supposed to be standing waiting for dots of glossy accents covered in Glamour dust to dry. They waited for me to turn my back before falling over. More on these at another time. There's a card, pack of Christmas tissues and some wooden dies cuts that came all the way from Kay in New Mexico...with a Starbucks New Mexico mug, insanely generous. And I didn't photo the mug because it's currently in the kitchen awaiting a refill...the time it takes the kettle to boil and not a minute longer!
It's not the most interesting of desks, huh, I will attempt to (remember to) photograph it during the course of the week and see if it improves at all! Inspire us all will ya, join in and show us how productive your workspace is..we love that! Put WOYWW in your post tile and link here. Lovely.

Lovely desk! Happy Thanksgiving to you!
Has someone been swinging on your clothesline, the wires are sagging, brings back memories of my childhood when we swung on our rotary and got into deep trouble. I like the look of that teabag holder

Those stars in the background look fascinating. Enjoy your tea in your New Mexico Starbuck mug. Happy WOYWW and Blessings!

I'm liking the look of those stars.....a lot. Good luck perfecting that tea bag holder. It's tea light holders here.
Love the look of the stars and hope to see what happens to them after the glittery glue gets picked off your desk... enjoy the refill coffee!
Your little stars look interesting. What are you going to do with them, or am I being nosey!
Have a happy week

Interesting tea bag holder. Is it from a template or a die? I want a closer look :). And the stars are coming along nicely too. Keeping it short cause my iPad is misbehaving but happy WOYWW

A tea bag holder sounds like a great idea. Christmas, guess I'd better start thinking about it too. Your stars are gorgeous, how rude of them to fall over when you weren't looking. Ahh another Starbucks mug, you lucky thing. Enjoy your cuppa.
Have a great week.

I've done all you ask but really not sure it will inspire anyone this week as I've spent way toooo many hours away from my desk since last week...playing being a 3 year old of course :-)
Hugs,

Hi Julia, that's a very busy desk. Do show us the finished tea-bag holder, once you've worked out the tricky bits?
Love the stars - I'll keep an eye out for more about those.
My "desk" is a sewing basket this week!
Morning Julia, love those stars. The tea bag holder idea seem great, please share the finished article if you are happy with it.

LOVE LOVE the drunken stars.. and I think I need a teabag box toooo... smile
Ooooh love stars - they will be so pretty - what are they for? Look forward to seeing completed teabag holder. Not had much time at my desk either and don't see much time available next week either :-( Happy WOYWW Anne x #32
Love those pretty stars! Nice busy desk this week. I agree - it's terrifying how quickly November (and actually this whole year) has slipped away.
Shoshi
Where did November go then?!! Oh yes I sat around like a lazy slug for most of it!. Love your stars Julia - hope I am twinkling soon too. x Jo
Hi Julia...along with everyone else, I'm very interested to see your finished items- teabag holder and gorgeous stars. A bright colourful desk there this week Cheers RobynO#34
Always something to see on your desk.
Happy WOYWW Sue
Nice workable desk, wishing I could get to mine. Love the stars were they a die or purchased that way? I spot no snow in your back yard as yet. We will be shoveling out later today. Enjoy a great weekend. Ours will start tomorrow with the Holiday.
Happy WOYWW Julia. I love the star pegs!
I decided to quickly pop on and off again, and back later, so I am not last, mhwah mhwah!

Interesting in seeing what you do with the stars. Hmm teabag boxes interesting idea might have to look into that idea. Anita #43
I've made these tea bag holders before and love them as gifts. Hope you get to feeling better about them. It's a great idea for giving!

It's nice to see your desk is productive again! I know from experience (at school) that any paper/card engineering project has to be so exact for it to work properly. Good luck with the tweaking :-)
Hugs, LLJ 25 xx
Love the stars. My eyes were drawn to that beautiful skeleton key! My Dad used to collect them, and I inherited some of the collection --- all five of my sibs got some too. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. ;) Happy WOYWW. Nann #49
No glasses today? No mugs? Scissors all in their jar...what you done with our Julia?
Love the 3D stars. I spy a pot of glue that might be drying out with no lid on it. ;) Kay is a sweetie isn't she. Have a wonderful weekend! Hugs and Happy WOYWW! Nan G #53
A Starbucks mug indeed, very happy mail! I love making cards to hold tea bags - what could be better! Hugs. Sandy Leigh
Good day to you! Love the tidy desk that's just waiting to be used and abused!!!
Angie #55
Happy WOYWW. Thank you for reminding me that I was going to make a tea bag box for my Mum for Xmas. Bought a nice plain wooden box, even got paint to put a base coat on it. Have a topper to decoupage on, and was going to cover the rest with scraps of paper. Just need the time to get it done, and the posh teabags to put in it! It may well become a surprise Mothers Day gift next year! Ali x #56
Good morning! My teakettle is on, too. I haven't even had my first cup before posting my Blog and commenting on yours! So funny, that the stars waited until your back was turned before falling over! Happy WOYWW!
tea bag holders sound like a really nice gift :) ( says she who is holding up her coffee mug haha) ~Stacy
Love the red glittery stars!! Awesome! I love the process of figuring this out, such as your tea bag holder - would love to see the finished product! I have 3 more journal pages on my desk this week! Lindart #59 (hopefully staying at 59 - last week my number changed on me!)
Hi sweet girl, late today due to computer malfunction Lol!
Have a great week, Angela x
A tea bag holder sounds like just the thing, a lovely pick me up for someone. Thanks for hosting this artful gathering Ms Julia. I didn't make it around to all last week. Will try again this week. I am starting in the middle and working out this time. I tend to start at first or the last post to visit. Keep smiling and creating one and all.
Hope you will share the teabag holder once you have perfected it - the stars look lovely. And how lovely to get some nice happy mail - so much better than bills.
Have a productive week
KraftyKaren #63
hehehe why is it that things always wait until you walk away before deciding to fall over?! :o) Love the teabag holder idea - for me it wouldbe coffee bags ... hmmmm ... got my cogs turning now. Happy WOYWW Annie C #67
Wonderful craftiness going on, the tea bag holder looks wonderful. I sometimes clip a second clip to the base of the clip holding the object needing to be held aloft. I'm a bit of a clip junkie lol.
Your desk is looking good. There is an awfully lot of empty space though. You need to fill that up!
evening Mrs D
your desk is looking very calm for this time of year.... good luck with the boxes. still plenty of time to get manic nearer the big day

Hello!
I posted this morning and then had to leave for a PT appointment and FORGOT to leave my link! My old brain is just not what it used to be. Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving with your family! I am thankful for your kindness in having this blog for us to share.
Hugs,
Barbara Diane
Tea is such a popular drink over there so I'm sure your teabag holder will be a welcome gift. oh, I get nervous when I see Christmas stuff on desks. I can't believe how fast this year has gone! Happy WOYWW, JUlia!
HMM. Teabag box. Sounds like a fun project for a paper engineer. Your desk is really unloved this week, huh? Guess it comes from all that gin (grin).
I would have been by sooner, but life and pre-Thanksgiving plans got in the way of computer life today. Hopefully, I'll be back snooping next week.
Bless Kay's heart. I looked at our Starbucks, but there was nothing spectacular about the one they had on display. It was just the Starbuck logo, not even the state. SO generic.
Had to laugh at the gals who live in the states who wished you a happy Thanksgiving. Bet you're glad you don't have all those food preparations to worry about. It's my biggest cooking day of the year, so you know where I'm headed again after I wish you a happy week and WOYWW on Wednesday night here.
Looks like one of the stars had already taken a nose-dive.
Can't wait to see your new Starbucks mug.
Toni xx
Dear Julia... thank you so much for your very kind and encouraging comments on my blog! Rest assured, I am not overdoing things. I am managing to pace myself. The soap making is just the one class a week at the moment, and I'm not intending to start doing it at home until the album is finished, and the knitting gets picked up when we are watching TV in the evening. Plenty of opportunities for rest (I don't make an early start in the mornings either) and I'm more or less on top of the pacing! The main thing is how fulfilled I am feeling with the album project - I am just loving doing it because it's so full of positive memories, and the motivation behind it is love. I shall be so delighted when it's complete, but also sad to see it go - bittersweet!
As for making a mess, I often slip a sheet of scrap paper under the page I'm working on, and I try to mop up straight away if there's any mess on the desk, which I try to keep well out of the way on the right hand side of my craft mat. There's quite a lot of gel medium embedded in the texture of the binding but it does rub off. All will be fine!!
Thanks again, Auntie Julia lol!
Shoshi #33
Hi Julia I know exactly what you mean about no 2 cards being the same - it would be quicker I am sure - but I think I would get bored !! Ali H xx
I must learn to read on ... I must learn to read on ... Guess who spent ages looking for the mug before reading on and finding it was in the kitchen? Blonde? Through and through!
Shame about the stars falling over, they look fine though to me.
Hugs, Neet xx 30 or thereabouts xx
It's beggining to look a lot like Christmas everywhere I go. :-) I'm singing Christmas songs. I am listening to Christmas music on the radio everytime I'm in the car. I LOVE it. And your desk is looking lovely with Christmas stuff.
April
Sorry I'm late - that's two weeks on the trot - must do better! I love the stars waiting to dry - I'm intrigued as to what you are going to do with them. Hope you have a great week, what's left of it!
Diana #50
Hi Julia, I think your desk is very inspiring, lots of fun busy stuff happening there!
Sorry I'm late with my visits this week. Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier and for the nice comments.
Happy Belated Woyww,
Sandy #33
Hi Julia! Thanks for your visit to my desk last week. I'm way late with my woyww-visits (due to the 'open atelier' deadline and all...) but at least I made it here before the next Wednesday (which is tomorrow already! You might even be writing the next woyww-post right now ;) I hope to be there too with a more peacefull mind ánd more time now that the deadline/open atelier weekend is over...
