The morning after...

Yesterday was my fortnightly turn at conducting a Workshop at Kraft Crazy.  Home of Shopkeeper Gal and sanctuary for quite a few of the characters that you read of herein.
Yesterday we used water and inks in various ways to create Batik and other effect backgrounds.  My workshops are fairly structured, in that there's a finished card for each technique so that you have a short play and then actually make something.  It's all done to reflect what I want from a workshop see.  That way it stays within my control and remains all about me and what I like.  They are also I hope, relatively relaxed.  Last night was.  I had eaten some diet marshmallows and the sugar really gave me a buzz! Really enjoyed myself.

Ignoring the terrible 'stitching', this is thin 'handmade' paper, stamped, embossed and sprayed with water until quite damp and laid on top of Distress stain refill and alcohol ink dripped onto a mat.
This  panel was stamped and embossed with clear ink, clear powder.  Over heat the embossing, and apply a couple of colours of alcohol ink, using the applicator tool method and a bit of blending solution.  Simple.

This one was even more straight forward. Clear ink, clear embosing powder, slightly overheat to remove shine and then sponge on Distress Inks.  Cheerful, innit.
And this was the fourth, which you've already met.  Squash a Brilliance ink pad onto a non pourous surface, spritz with water and splodge the previuosly embossed paper across it.  If nothing else, it has helped me to rediscover my lovely Brilliance inks!

Now please bear in mind that I was the 'conductor' of these workshops.  I like them to be relaxed and so, unless necessary for the proceedings, I don't clean stamps or fuss about much - it makes people nervous.  So how come, this morning - even after last night's clean up, bed time ablutions and this morning's shower - I'm the filthy one?  AND...I haven't unpacked and cleaned up the kit yet!  I was absolutely blue...Salty Ocean Blue to be precise.

I don't know.  Not going to change at this age though, huh!  Have a lovely weekend.

Green fingered means good with plants. Blue fingered obviously means good with stamps. :-) really love the finished results....and I presumed the stitching was intended :-)

I love the idea that your classes are relaxed and you don't fuss. Apart from the fact people go to classes often for the fun, you learn far more when you're comfortable and unthreatened.I've been teaching (not craft!) for over thirty years (Arrggh!) and if I've learned one thing myself, it's that! Years back, before I took up craft seriously, I went to a card making class where the teacher, bless her, terrified us and spent most of the time talking about how you wouldn't know she'd ever used her stamps they were sooo clean and be careful with the ink pads and - oh dear what a mess you're making! We didn't finish anything and I can't remember anything we did!!! Well done you with your inky fingers!!! Julie Ann xxx

All lovely, but the pink one is my favourite.

Great techniques, for some fab. backgrounds.

Wear your colors with pride GF!
I have shown up at many social events with stained fingers, and I have disposable gloves right there, but get "into it" before thinking of them....LOL

Sample cards and backgrounds are all so pretty, but the Brilliance one is my favorite.

I love salty ocean, it's such a bright cheerful colour - so perfect for you, a bright cheerful person... Love the sound of your workshops, shame I am so far away. The cards are all gorgeous, really love the pink one, even though I'm not really a pink person.. can see it in lots of other colours...

Everyone needs inky fingers - salty ocean especially! I have heard that Head and Shoulders shampoo does the trick but in my experience ink soon wears off!!!
Your card are lovely and with a good range of techniques sounds as though you had a great time! Chrisx

i use the stuff hubby uses when he has worked on cars. other than that hand cream helps release ink. I only fuss if going out. Even then I go out looking like I encountered monsters.
Ah well just sampled a Cadbury Caramello egg. and have sticky fingers.

Looks like you enjoyed yourself and I'm sure that the ladies had a great time making those cards.

Head & Shoulders is a def go to if you need to get the ink off in a hurry.

Like the posters info about head & shoulders, I shall remember that. I've also heardd, I think off Maggie, that Imperial Leather does the trick too. Love the Salty Ocean blue, its a glorious colour. Pleased you said how you did the pink card, I thought that looked awesome when I first saw it, and I don't do pink, lol. I do have a lot of Brilliance pads though, and like you, they've become forgotten treasures, I can't remember when I last used them. Coming out this weekend( after an IKEA trip), thats for sure.Have a good weekend, Hugs, Shaz xx

I like the idea behind all these cards, but the embossing would kill me. I can't seem to get my heat gun to cooperate with my EP. The only EP I've ever had luck with was gold, and it still leaves a bit of tiny flecks, even when I use one of those pouncers.

However, I applaud you on the way you teach. It's how it should be, with a bit of teaching and a lot of humor. Now I don't KNOW you, but I KNOW you. And I KNOW you bring happiness and humor (and even humour) wherever you are.

If I get ink or stain on my hands, I simply was my dishes, then shower. By the time I've finished, most of the color is off (those old Ranger spray dies are the worst, I might add)

Hey you need lemon and sugar to rub onto those hands or one of those craft scrubbies, cheaper option lemon and sugar and it makes your hands smell nice.

Lovely bunch of cards at the workshop, not surprised you are in a state. LOL
