What's On Your Worksdesk? Wednesday 197

Well, here's value for your internet connection.....

The desk, in all it's glorious erm, glory at lunchtime on Tuesday.  I was about to clear up, the H2Os were fun to play with - like having old friends around!  You can see though, that i was in full swing..I spy a small orange lidded plastic box on its side, sticking out of the clear drawer where I keep my foam pads.  And a light bulb wedged into the basket of scissors and pens and etc....I wonder how long that will stay there.  I know it works, we were testing the colour of the light against the daylight bulb that I currently use in my lamp.  Janet suggested I need a daylight bulb,  Well, ironic or not..I have one and it was turned on when I took the photo to which she was referring.  So here..in real daylight..

The shades of BLUE.  See. The big red stripe is a 'shelf' that Mr Dunnit made for me - it fits exactly across the arms of my armchair to provide me a table when I don't want to move far from his side.  Or the TV. Or the heating.  And that great chunk of cut glass bowl -lovely innit.  That's a long term loan from a very very good chum.  I love it.  And use it as you can see, for all sorts of things. So it doesn't feel neglected.  I need it to know how much I like it.  You understand.
And finally...tidied up..this shot taken late yesterday afternoon.  I was going to start a scrapbook page for a workshop project.  I answered the phone and poof! the daylight disappeared.  I hate it when that happens.

Come on now, I know you won't need to offer a threefor, but show us what you're up to huh, it's always lovely to browse your desks.  Put WOYWW in the title of your blog post and link it here.  Smashing.

Lovely shades of Blue. And I like the red shelf, amazing what how little things mean a lot! And I don't see snow out your window, are you into spring? Snow is deep here, 12 inches of wet heavy stuff to melt Thurs, so will have a water mess.
Always enjoy your variety, Happy WOYWW and enjoy the week

Hullo there Julia,
ah do love peeking at your desk and the fact that you have totally unrelated things in totally unrelated spots like the light globe etc and even better that you point them out it is so reassuring..
...and yes I DO understand as you will find them on my desk, not light globe or orange container but some of their wandering relatives!
Well, lovely work going on here! glad to see what the sades of blue really do look like had sen them on previous post and did think they looked rather monotone which is far from the truth.. great work.
And love the far that your chair desk is red! :D
happy WOYWW! Shaz in Oz. x #15

I had a lightbulb moment this week when I realised a side table. I had in my kitchen would make a good sewing machine table especially as it had a drawer in it.
Only thing now is the gap in the kitchen and where to put the stuff that was in the drawer.

Lovely shades of BLUE! What a difference lighting can make!
I find photographing anything in my house to be hard. I get very little natural light in my house and I have hardwood floors that cast a yellowish glow to my world along with the yellow glow cast by the new fluorescent bulbs.
I do have a desktop OTT lamp with daylight bulb, but I'm thinking I need more than one to even out the light.
Can't believe I managed to actually put my link up in the morning, as I'm usually posting late at night! I took the day off from work today and to get this posted was top on my list along with my morning cup of coffee.
Now to take a look at what everyone else has going on!

Lizzie said...

Oh dear, late again - sorry!
I love to see all the photos of your desk and the various projects you're working on. It's not boring in your house, for sure!
The card with the basket of little flowers, is so pretty (twinkling h2o's?); the various blue crochet squares - are they tiny, or is it just the camera angle? aaand the fun photo, ready to be scrapped (not to mention the rather cheeky coaster for your coffee cup!).

The red "shelf" is a good plan. I had a useful piece of oak flooring, which I used as a "laptop shelf" across the drawer beneath my desk. The desk was a roll-top and the laptop didn't sit on it properly, because the drawer unit under the rolltop would stop the screen from opening. So we found this oh-so-useful piece of timber, which was exactly wide enough to sit across the drawer - instant shelf! I gave the desk to a friend - and the shelf went too!

Great WOYWW today, Julia. It's fun to join in.

Lizzie #148 :-)
