What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 528

I believe really that this time it is week 528. I actually believed it was 527 last week, but had a fat fingered keyboard moment and you were so nice about it that I didn’t even think to make a correction! So, a bit more of the same from me today, a slightly tidy desk, just to facilitate what I was actually doing. If you’re a Brit, and self employed or super rich, you may recognise the printed version of a tax return on my desk. Obviously, that means that I am either self employed or super rich, and I’m pretty sure you know which best describes me! It’s actually phase two of my returns period. Phase one involves a year end and return for the business. I know, it’s riveting. Apart from the admin stuff though, the desk will be party to workshop preparation today, and some scrapbooking preparations too. You’re probably shocked by the use of the word preparation, I don’t do it for scrapbooking usually! I’m taking part in a challenge and I have to make my own version of someone else’s LO. Simple enough, except the only way I can do that this week is to make, MAKE, my own frames and embellishments. Blimey. You won’t hear the end of this for a while, be warned! So whilst my desk isn’t showing ‘it’, I hope yours is. Let’s see.
Put WOYWW in your post title and link it here for our viewing ease please. Pleasure.

Well, I am a Brit, but not a self employed one (nor have I ever been) and I certainly am not rich, never mind super rich, so I haven't seen those tax returns before. Good job, I'd be in a tizzy with one to fill in.
Good luck with the workshop prep, I always do too much, just in case - and with the LO which I wouldn't have a clue where to start. So dear Julia rabbit on as long as you like to me, I will never tire of hearing you talking of the frames and embellishments - afterall, I can rabbit with the best of them so join me.
Hugs, Neet 1 (only because I have had a sleepless night - tinnitus would you believe! xxx

Well I've only seen them at work from clients ... hope it will soon be off your desk and "filed" and you can move on to workshop prep and the scrapbooking challenge. off back to bed for a bit before I decide how to spend today!

Tax returns....shivers...good luck with that though I know they hold no fear for you! Brave gal. Making your own embellishment sounds a step too far for me though I suppose it is meant to be a challenge...good luck!

Oh poor you, Julia, having to do tax stuff. I absolutely hate having to do anything with money and I’m not very good at it (except the spending part, of course!) - the only reason it’s my job in this household is that I am marginally better at it than my hubby! I hope we will get to see your DIY embellishments. It sounds an interesting challenge and well within your capabilities, I am sure.

Happy WOYWW,

Did I say we are retiring next year and that’s definite. No more returns, VAT, procedures, method statements, hazard identifications or any of the other paraphernalia that the government demand of us. Yee haa !!!! Roll on March 2020

Yuck.. I remember those forms when Hubby was Self employed along with annual meetings with the accountant and scrambling around looking for any missed receipts. You will have such fun making those embellishments and frames Julia, that's something to take the mind of that mind numbing read of a form.
Glad the #527 or was it #528 is sorted out... I was beginning to think my madness key had been turned up a notch hee hee!!
Happy WoywW & make sure there are plenty of refreshments inbetween form filling times. Hugs Tracey #8?

Ooh, making your own frames and embellishments sounds exciting - hope there's more to come. Challenges are great for giving us a push on the back side LOL and make us do things out of our comfort zone. I will be linking up later if I can get my act together. xx

Oh yes, I have seen this type of tax return but I live in the US. My husband was self employed and He would do this too. Making your own frames and other embellishments can be a bit of work but I'm sure you are up for the task. Good luck on that!

Well Julia, I’m back at a seemingly traditional spot for moi of #22 yet again, becoming rather a habit actually. Until winter is over and our times (yours and ours) change back ‘tis the way it will be.
Preparing, preparations, were mentioned a number of times, so that’s good.. crafty site especially.

Don’t think the super rich actually sight or write in a tex return but have an accountant or dogsbody to sort that for them!
Will be in bed early tonight, again, it’s been cold and I’ve a cold so means earlier to bed.
Thanks for being a blessing in running this so wonderful hop each week, may God bless you too.

Hi Julia

I have not so fond memories of when my ex-husband was self employed, and trying to keep on top of his 'books'. Thankfully Mr M is capable of sorting out his own tax affairs. I'm just left managing the household budget. Good luck with getting the tax return completed quickly, and then free to concentrate on your layout. I read last weeks post too - have no idea what Perspextives are ... time for Google to enlighten me! Have a lovely week, Heather #11

Ah, Julia! That time of year again. Those dreaded tax returns - the joys of the self-employed. Happily I'm no longer self-employed and I'm not super rich either - HMRC makes it so easy to be a pensioner by taxing at source! The challenge sounds, well, challenging - making embellishments is one thing but making frames too!!! You'll probable rise to the challenge beautifully and enjoy it too. Hugs, Elizabeth x #24

Oh no, the dreaded T word!! Our oldest son does our taxes, he was a tax preparer in his previous job but still does family taxes. I do have to do spread sheets of all the appropriate expenses and make copies of so much to send to him.
And I hope you get your LO done! That almost sounds more difficult!
Have a great week!
