What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 329

Well Deskers of the world, yesterday I managed to go to work late (got there about 10.30) and then through hard work and diligence, I managed to come home early. OK. So the need for my unskilled labour was over, whatever! It means you get a picture of my desk in semi decent light showing my next move...
Reading glasses which are now letting me down; must get around to another eye test. Only one pair of scissors which is most unusual...you can tell that I'm not sure yet where I'm going with these images. The BAH and Humbug are a a single stamp so I've separated them with a scalpel (and the use of better glasses!). I think they're of more use to me this way. Mr Dunnit came in from work whilst I was playing with the stamps and had a look at my desk while kissing me hello (he's nothing if not a multi tasking romantic). He then announced that my trial run was the best Christmas card ever. I think a lot of blokes would agree! There's also a grim cup of instant soup. Grim, but I love it. And an empty glass from more than 24 hours ago. Sorry! And a small pile of new Woodware stamps to get my mojo going. I hope!
So share and tell will you? You've got to be doing stuff more interesting than I am!
PLEASE put WOYWW in your post title and then link here. It makes it easier if we know what we're looking for! See you later!

I think that soup looks yummy, we are going out of soup season and welcoming salads and cold stuff. But I still love soup. this view of your desk is always scary for me, like I am standing on a ledge and looking over it LOL

Good morning, Julia - bit of a blast from the past here this morning. Yes, I am still alive and kicking despite being absent for so long. Two links from me today as I have put one on the original site, but have had to change my blog provider - so one from the new one, too. Sorry!!
Take care. God bless.

I'm not a big fan of soup in cups... I think you're very brave taking a scalpel to a stamp, but think I agree with you that it would be more useful separate!! hope we get to see the card soon.

Love to see your bah humbug stamps and I agree that it's sometimes better to split a stamp up it just makes some so much more useful and who knows when you'll need a bah it's your birthday again lol happy woyww hugs Nikki 5

Haha, yes, I've taken a scalpel to a stamp too! With much fear and trembling! But it worked out better that way :)
Your working day sounds a lot like mine! (Scarily so!)
Have a good week, whether you're working at work or working at home :)

Good idea to split your stamp. I feel a bit Bah Humbug this week and have put away my Christmas cards for a while as I got fed up. Just thought, hope my offering this week isn't too risky for delicate early morning deskers! No offence intended!

I think it's a good idea splitting up the two words, means you can place them exactly where you want 'em :-)
Looking forward to seeing you...got the kettle on!

Recently had an eye test - got cataracts forming - but that is just age related so no worries for you. As for cuppa soup - I love Mug Shots, not much difference except they fill me up better and are handy when I cannot be bothered with lunch.
Hmmm ... C Card already done - batch work hereinafter?

You sound like a surgeon...taking a scalpel to your bah humbug! And it sounds so painful :-).....but I do have to agree that it will be much more useful now. Have a great week.

I never used to rate cupasoup, but now we live here and can't get it... occasionally when its cold, I crave a hot cupasoup. They don't sell tinned soup either. But fortunately soup is easy to make and easy to freeze, so I always keep a good supply of homemade soup in the freezer.
I love the Bah Humbug stamp. It made me smile.
Have a good week,
Lisca

It's a shame they don't do a mugs worth of soup in a can, as that's usually far nicer than the packet dry stuff. I tend to just heat up half a can and then have the other half the next day.

Well with Bah Humbug on your desk it looks like you are getting ready for you know what that happens in a few months.

Hope you have a lovely day. Sue

I have ready specs all over the house Julia but how come they all end up in one room.
Have a lovely day dear busy lady, I'm off to a charity afternoon tea singalong with a 1940's twist. So I'll be donning my best vintage outfit later.

I suggested my boy add some Cup a Soup to his store cupboard, but he was having none of it! Bah Humbug is about right here. I really should get over it and start thinking about those darn C cards.

Just noticed yesterday (when I went to do some sewing on my calendar page) that I couldn't see the needle hole ! My mom has already warned me that everyone in the family has had to get reading glasses at the age of 42-43, and I've been thinking I still have a year to go... but I should maybe face it, I'll be 42 in a couple of months, and perhaps that is all that's needed! I have several stamps that I've cut to pieces, so I can use the parts separately... it doesn't prevent using them the way they were, when wanted :)
Thanks for your visit, happy woyww!

Still not taking part - life has been far too chaotic to risk joining in then not having time to visit :) But I am so dying (luckily, not literally) :)) to see the card Mr Dunnit declares perfection!
Perhaps at crop?

It's the first day of Fall but I see Christmas on your desk! I think card makers have to think that far ahead. Your post gave me a chuckle this morning. The bit about the glasses reminds me that I too have been putting off getting examined for new ones. We will have to get together and show off our new ones when we get around to it!

Christmas cards already. Where has the time gone? I'm afraid this year has scooted by and I'm still in Spring mode! Love all the goodies on your desk. Now get to work and make a real mess!

A great snack are cup a soups while you are crafting. It's good that DH observes what you are doing and gives you positive comments. Hope those Woodware stamps give you plenty of inspiration.

My, that boss of your's is lenient letting you come and go as you please!! The view of your desk is somewhat limited and i'm wondering what wonders stretch beyond the limits shown?
I am being crafty leaving a message today, and I hope you don't mind, but Dolores will be staying with me and we will be visiting the Port Sunlight show so if any WOYWWers in the NW are also attending the show it would be a lovely surprise for her to meet up at the front outside at 1pm. She won't read this as she is en route by car to from Slovenia to UK over the next couple of days.
BTW, I bet I'll be the only person at Port Sunny who buys nothing at the show!!!
Lots of love Jo x

Hi Julia, cool that you were able to organize a few less hours at work so you could get back to your desk...I too cut stamps so they are more useful - even pulled and cut those from roller stamps. I'm a wee bit blinder than you as I need to have them on my nose all the time...enjoy your week Cheers RobynO#29

What a treat to see you playing around with a stamp, sipping your soup, and letting your creativity run free. I think when I get my new glasses in a few months, I'm going to have an actual pair of prescription magnifiers made up--I have so many of those little pairs I've just gotten at Walgreens! Bah humbug is reminding me that I should get my Christmas shopping, cards, and everything done early! Hugs! Sandy Leigh

I don't know if it was too early or too late, but I can't remember making a comment to you this day..Watching the events of the Pope being in Washington DC and everything else seems a sideline. But you gave me a good idea on using a scalpel to separate the words. Have wanted to do that to HAPPY BIRTHDAY for a long time...You humor and interesting stuff is always fun. Happy WOYWW

Hi Julia,

Rounding out the list this week (someone's got to do it!) Had a stressful day yesterday and while I had my post written on time - just didn't have the juice in me to actually post it!

Ah - reading glasses - the bane of aging. I have a pair that falls off of my head every time I put them on (even though they seemed to have fit perfectly when I tried them on in the store!) I know one's body shrinks as we get older - do our heads shrink too?

Anyway, have a great week - and a chuckle at my ramblings!

A scalpel to a stamp? Oh the horror! Actually that's quite brilliant. I am a big fan of cutting paper apart to separate the stamped image (usually words), but I never thought to cut the stamp itself apart.
Have a great week!

The soup does look good!Your scissor might have been off having a meeting. A group of mine was assembled when I took the picture. I also featured a cut up stamp lol. I love the Bah Humbug stamp. I can't believe I don't have one. I might have to just break down and make one. Enjoy your new stamps. #47
