What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 173

Well I never, the counting and cutting has stopped for a day, and I had a couple cards in progress when I took this pic at about 9pm Tuesday night.  You can see, I'm fiddling about with the Snowman card...since the picture,it has undergone another radical change and I promise, at some stage, to show it.  A Pearl-Ex palette of Stargazers...mica based watercolour paints...lovely.  Very retro really, but I note that one of the top demo products at Ally Pally last week was puff paint, so I guess in a way I'm in the right 'trend' area! It's a fine mess...rolls of glue dots that were stacked have been knocked over by a pot of embossing powder, used, inky stamps cast aside, the button jar open for no good reason and I've broken out the chewing gum.  That's a sign of monotony...I like to chew whilst I count and cut lots of card...it stops me wanting to wander off in boredom -  to the kitchen!  I must add that amongst this week's non planned stuff is a journey up to North London in the big old van tomorrow.  Collecting a dust filtration system for the joinery.  It's all glamour.  And it's stopping me doing a lot of other planned stuff, I can tell you. This was not on my list!
More interesting is YOUR work surface, share it with us, please!  Photo, post on your blog, upload with a WOYWW in the title and link here.  Easy.  Visits will occur.  Reciprocal visits are polite.  Advertising is not.

Ooh Christmas!! I'm seriously impressed I can tell you! Have fun in North London, pity it couldn't have been arranged in conjunction with Ally Pally, but I suppose that's way too logical!

I can relate to things not on your list. I have a few unplanned and basically unwelcome things that will take me away from the internet all the rest of the week. So I have to make the most of tonight.

I was telling Helen (H) that I have some puffy paint from the late 80s. What goes around comes around. Mine was for fabric, so I'm right on track. I suspect the Pearl ex are similar to H2Os, but I've used pearl ex and it didn't have a binder, as I recall.

have a great week, dear friend and don't "work" too hard. Happy WOYWW from #4.

Ooh, I can believe that I am #10. Julia, love the Christmas papers and can't wait to see the finised snowman. Tell me about it. I should be working on my planned projects instead of sitting here typing on the computer. But, I had to come by and now I have to go and be really nosey.

Your snowman card looks cute -- will be interested to see the radical direction he has taken since. The Christmas paper in the lower left is lovely. My brain isn't quite there yet . . . I just ordered a few Halloween papers today. :) Sorry I am "cheating" by posting a few hours before it's truly Wednesday here!

I like the snowman card! I can't wait to see how it turns out :) It can't really be time for Christmas cards can it? I'm not ready for that yet!

No, I refuse to contemplate Christmas yet and you can't tempt me with your cute card. Nothing old fashioned about Pearl Ex, it's right at the top of my "best" stuff. I love it and you have reminded me to get it out and use it. Happy WOYWW, RosA # 27

Well aren't you just miss efficient already working on Christmas cards. I am itching to get started on mine but I still need to do some Thanksgiving cards..I like the snowman on your card.

Gum huh? I always like to see what other's snack (or in my case over indulge) on when they craft. You saw mine last week - Jelly Beans. Maybe I should try gum and maybe I will eat less jelly beans. Ok that is highly unlikely but it sounded good to write.

Hope your day provides you some time to craft.

Hi Julia. I'm a counter too. If I am prepping packs for a class I count as I cut and I count as I put into packs! Massive improvement on the desk front from last week Julia - even if it does have a Christmas card on that is staring at me and saying 'Yes - you haven't made any yet - even Julia can make time to do one'!!!

What a guilt trip Julia - are you trying to finish me off or something...!

Thanks for comment about the Grand Calibur and whether I'll be able to do it... well, the cuttlebug really is getting difficult for me - I suppose the fact that the B plates are shaped like bananas may not help - but I have to hold it down which needs muscle and sinue and nerves - all of which are damaged on that side and turning with fibro arms doesn't help the righthand side either. However, when ever I've seen someone on C&C use the GC - it looks smooth and easy. I suppose the only way for me to find out is to get it out of the box and try!!!!! lol

big hugs and thank you for caring.
