My new year edition, late to the party as is usual for the past year! Wishing you all the best for 2026, May it be everything it needs to be for you, and if I can help in any way to make that happen, let me know!
My desk..hmm. Underused except for some admin and month end paperwork (which is a joke as since the fire we haven’t actually been trading, but lots of purchases for the rebuild to log and still a VAT bill to wrestle. Bonkers really!
There is evidence of a Christmas present, some wax seals. Kathy On The Hill sent me a bunch of stuff for seal making and I have had a brief go, it’s a bit addictive actually, I can see the paraphernalia popping up in desk shots quite a lot this year. Inevitably I now have to buy wax and *cough* one or two more seals…the one I’ve used here although it’s not clear, is a balloon dog! So cute. The notebook on the right has my Great Niece's ‘writing’ on it. She’s at the stage of needing a new page (of my business payments notebook in this case) for every mark she makes. I’d forgotten all these little things. And that if I sit at my desk, both of the little ones have to drag a dining chair in, get situated and then fiddle with all that is dangerous on my desk and completely ignore anything that might be safe/clean/allowed. It’s been a re-learning!
That’s me, now I have to get on with some general housework that has largely been hidden or ignored by Christmas decor….check out more creative desks over at our Sarah’s - join in, it’s free, fun and apart from certain photos, tidy!

I remember all the crafting with little ones but even ours are growing up fast now so things change quickly. Hoping the new build goes well and the business can recover soon for you both.
Hugs,

Wishing you lots of energy and good luck in 2026 as you rebuild the business.
Hope the rebuild goes smoothly and that everything goes well this year. Hugs Angela #13
I have quite a few seals and need to get back to using them. I have no excuse as I did buy a set of coloured waxes, either Amazon or Temu not sure which. I have not seen the Balloon dog one but I must have a look for it, love it to bits! Happy woyww with hugs Angela x7x
Just chuckling at the idea of dipping seals in wax! Mmm can you tell I'm not a paper crafter ๐คฃ Best of luck with all your new year ventures. Keep us updated on your progress. All the best for 2026. x x Jo ๐
I've never done any wax work.... the seals sound good. I did smile at the story of your little people at your desk! Good luck with the rebuild and take care both of you. Helen #3
It made me smile that the little ones want to play with the things they shouldn’t! That’s how we all learn. ๐
I hope the rebuild this year goes smoothly, Julia, and wish you all the best for 2026.
Hugs

Housework? what's that? If I cant do it at my desk, it can wait! Thanks for your kind words Julia and happy New Year! Robyn 4
What a pain you still have to do the VAT and books….hope it’s quicker cos there’s less to put in but I doubt it! Well done on allowing the littlies a bit of freedom and learning opportunities, that’s how we all learned!
I should imagine wax seals are very satisfying to do.

Oh I had a wax seal kit a few Christmases ago, it is fun to do but I need to be careful as I tend to burn myself unwittingly otherwise. I don't have the pleasure of any little ones about but totally understand the re-need for baby proofing our surroundings, funny how we let go after certain stages have past with our own children without even noticing until......
As for my hand - I'm sure I wouldn't have been given any special things to do via NHS as there wasn't even a followup scheduled for me there. Last time, in 2021 I was covered by my husband's work medical insurance and as I had such trouble with my wrist afterwards I got hand therapy from that. This time I ended up doing self funding private and all the consultant said was to do gentle wound massage 3-4 times a day for 4 weeks after the dressing was removed at 2 weeks post op and then from 6 weeks post-op to up the regime to deep massage. So specific exercises - however I made copious notes back in 2021 from the hand therapy so I am using those exercises and timings to aid my recovery adapting where necessary as it is slightly different this time around.
Love your wise man in my stash comment - you always make me smile. I hope you can get the books straight and things are advancing with the recovery of your business. I have been looking into my tax cade today, wondering why it keeps going down, but think I might have sussed it - my hubby's has gone minus oh my! Hugs Bj#2
Hi Julia, it's me agin. Do you know where she got the balloon dog seal from or what make it is, not having much luck finding one. Good luck with the invites, hope you don't lose the will to live making them. Hugs Angela x7x
You always sneak in at the end! I have to remind myself to circle back around LOL! I recall having a sealing wax kit in the 70s and I have to say I have not been tempted since. Thank goodness cause I would surely buy, the ignore it like I do a lot of things. Good luck with the paperwork - I deep in a stack of of it for DD and her flat so I totally sympathize. Although VAT sounds a lot more onerous. Ugh. But fingers crossed the rebuilding will sail on, untroubled. My wish for you for the New Year! Hugs and Happy WOYWW!
