What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 852

If you're on Facebook,   You might have seen my post about the fire that destroyed our workshop, paint shop and timber store. Our business. For two or three days, it was devastating and we did not know which way was up, let alone forward. Some sleep and the need to face insurance and utitlty companies and daily life have brought us back to reality. The arrival of your support in the shape of this beautiful autumnal bouquet is so appreciated. We are both buoyed and enabled by knowing that so many people wish us well in the next part of our lives and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for it.

Plans are afoot now. Mr Dunnit doesn't want to completely retire, so we instantly have a way forward. We still have each other and we have our home which really means that we have everything still.

Oh my Julia, I've only just heard via WOYWW and am so sorry, but relieved that you both are OK. I understand the devastation of fire as lost our family home back in the 80's. The mention of utilities reminds me of the pristine white bottle of milk left outside the charred remains, I told them to cancel it but....Ours was probably an electrical fault too. Prayers that a way forward is opened for you both. Hugs BJ#9

It's such a dreadful thing to happen but as you've said you still have each other and that's everything. You do have a lot of friends too and this one is willing to help in any way I can...please shout. Sending you lots of love and hugs to get you both through this difficult time.

You’ve given so much love and support in this amazing community you started all those years ago, it’s only right that we’re returning it all now. As I said on my blog today, the crafting is almost secondary now! The photos bring home what an inferno it was, I’m not surprised you were turned upside down by it all. I know you and Mr D will be strong together and forge a new path ahead. Keep calm and carry on.
Love ya, LLJ 2 xx

I can only echo what everyone is saying - we are all here because of you and are ready to support you in any way we can. I am so thankful for you and Mr Dunnit being safe, and not to mitigate the disaster, but that at least means you can still move on as a team. You have always been stronger together, in partnership, so all love and support to you both. May the paperwork move quickly and the next chapter begin. Stay safe, and cherish each other.

Julia what a dreadful thing to happen to you and Mr Dunnit. It was such a shock to see those photos on FB and read what Mr D had lost. Not just stock, orders near completion, tools but also memories.
As you say plans are now afoot for a way forward and I wish you all the luck in the world. As long as you hold on to one another things should be fine. Love has a way of solving all problems, may yours continue to flourish and grow. And please hold in your hearts the love that pours out of your friends on woyww. We stand as friends waiting to help in any way we can.
Hugs, Neet 4 xx
