Not my usual desk, but some craft work of a sort at last! You can tell that I've spray painted the tree that is the A. These words form part of a box full that Mr Dunnit has cut for me; different words that I'm sort of experimenting with in terms of painting, leaving naked, adding snow etc etc. The drawback to cans of spray paint is the need to be outside with a large cardboard box as a spray booth. It all gets blown about even on days when you wouldn't consider it windy. Nothing if not rankly amateur I can tell you. Still, so far so good. The box will then be retired to the garage. The intention is to add to it as time permits over the next few months and then have a stall at our town's Christmas Fayre next year. We'll see. I think the box I'm using is big enough not to be one of those that gets swallowed up by the 'special place' problem. Probably it's too big and we'll get sick of falling over it, walking around it, moving it to access other stuff, it will be put in a special place and totally forgotten until a deadline looms again! So here I am a week before Christmas, preparing stuff for next Christmas. That might lead you to the wrong assumption that I'm ready for this Christmas. I am, nearly. Just domestic chores to conquer, golly doesn't having to move furniture and wedge in a tree cause an upset! Hope you can take some time to feel the festivities in the big old run up.

Happy WOYWW Julia, and good to see you this week. I'm impressed that you are getting ahead for NEXT Christmas, lol!! How on earth did you spray paint just the letter A/tree without it going all over the rest of the letters (like I would have done) that's amazing! I'm not really ready either, but have an unexpected day off as the office had to close, there is a problem with the water supply in Cheam where I work and after we struggled through yesterday, Monica has decided it's better to close today. so of course I am visiting desks rather than doing things that need doing for Christmas... I may wrap gifts later though!! Merry Christmas to you all, and enjoy the day. Hugs. Helen xx #2
I love it Julia....how prepared are you? ;-) I'm nearly there for this year...just the food prep etc really. Parcels are made/wrapped pretty much now.
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas if I don't 'see' you next week.
Hugs,
Annie x #4
Nice Gathers Missus! I too am impressed by the fact that you managed to keep the green away from the other letters, it would have been everywhere if I’d done it! After sending you that Brian Bilston poem on FB, you’re not procrastinating at all, lol, super organised in fact. Though I would like to know where exactly you’ve wedged the tree…..
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas with the family, ours will be low key but lovely nevertheless. The Crib tournament has begun…..
Hugs LLJ 3 xx
Like everyone else, I am amazed you did not get spray paint on the other letters. Intriguing as to how you did it - pray tell!
I too am well prepared despite the shingles coming in the run up time. For once I feel very relaxed and have 17 cards done for next year. I decided to work a year ahead in future. (well this time I did)
If I don't see you next week - Happy Christmas.
Hugs, Neet 1 xx
Well done on your spraying and readiness for next year’s Xmas fairs.
Happy WOYWW and Christmas

Very neat job with the Christmas trees. Did the real one give you trouble? Ours is in the same position as last year - the only place available! Great letter cutting from you husband. Happy Christmas. Angela #16
Ha ha well done on your early prep! Your gathers are beautifully cut and coloured. Have a lovely Christmas. x x Jo 🌈
Hi Julia, I'm back home at last as we've been visiting friends and picking up the Christmas cake and probably talking tooo much Lol! I always try to make a few C.cards for the following year but have a reputation for changing my mind about the design but they are always useful. Wishing you a very happy woyww Christmas. Hugs Angela x9x
Either feast of famine with you - rushing madly to get read for THIS year, or cooly planing for NEXT year. You do make me smile. What a lovely item that will be in the end. Beautifully minimal with only the green tree, but also potentially fab with all the colours. Hey - you and LLJ can book side by side tables! Maybe I'd see you there. Have a marvelous holiday.
Catching up!

Wow - well done for already thinking ahead to next Christmas Julia. Love the look of painted tree among the plainer letters. Best of luck with filling and not losing the box! Merry Christmas and happy WOYWW. Sarah
Hi Julia, I love it! It would look wonderful near the dining room table where everyone gathers to enjoy Christmas dinner together. I am kind of ready for Christmas, my hubby had a stroke last week and is now in recovery, so I kind of lost the Christmas vibe for awhile, but the kids are coming home this year so they can be with him (he might be let out for a few hours on Christmas Day) so I now need to make sure they have a good Christmas too. Hubby is doing well, but it was quite the shock. I didn't get a chance to write my blog, I didn't do any crafting anyway. So, MERRY CHRISTMAS! I will be back in the New Year. Lindart
Oh wow "GATHER" that was my Advent word yesterday too so I gasped when I saw your page, I love them would look super on the mantle. Glad to see you've done some crafting and the box to spray paint in is a good idea even outside.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New WOYWW Year to you.
Hugs BJ#10
Wow I love these signs! I can't believe you are already thinking ahead to next Christmas haha! I am still trying to get things done for this one. I have a few more gifts to do and then some domestic chores too! I really want to have my carpets cleaned before our company comes. Wish me luck!
