What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 703

It’s not quite a ‘back to normal’ for me. You can see a tidy-ish desk, pulled forward. Yep. Later this morning, a ‘team’ are coming to fit a new patio style door.
So I’ve had to decant lots of stuff to allow the desk to be freely moved. This is the start of the end of work in this room. Proper architrave, skirting and a bit of decorating will soon be all that’s needed and I’ll be like a pig in poo! There’s also a front door going on today too, so I’m going to squirrel myself away upstairs with ironing and chores that involve checking the Christmas pressie box and bringing the list up to date and generally anything that involves staying as far from cold open doorways as possible!
The desk shows a few more cards and a couple of packs of blanks that I was going to work with next. And a pack of gel pens that I bought whilst in York…a great souvenir! On the right on the cutter is a pot of hologram embossing powder. It’s there to remind me to order some more. It’s from Hobby Art and I just love the holographic-ness of it, so am hoping that they still do it, I think I’ve had this pot a good five years!  No other action just yet, it all depends how quickly the door is done…I’m going to ask them to do this one first, but they may have their own plan!
Encourage me do, I’ve been away from the desk for what seems like an age. No doubt yours is in a far better state of use!

BRR not a day for sitting with open doors.Hope it doesn't take too long. I remember the chat about what kind of door you would go for when we were travelling to crop, so I'm glad you made a decision!! not much activity on my desk either... happy WOYWW Helen

Yikes! I am now imagining holographic glitter caught on the wind of the open door…. How forward thinking of you to have a list and a Christmas box already! I have to make it thru Thanksgiving first! And I am certainly thankful for all the fun of Woyww over the years. Stay warm!
Happy Woyww!

Hope they get your door done first so you can craft in the warm Julia. I have a pot of holographic as well! I don't use it that often and I should. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #2

So you managed to reload your ATG Julia as I see it’s at the ready for use, I’ve given up on mine for too long. Like a few other tools I must confess. I see a mix of wooden and unmounted on your desk and agree that Hologram EP does look delish. Re wood mount I was only contemplating as I finished my cards for 2022 how I didn’t actually use any stamp that was NOT a wood mount and how much I used my loved tool, the stamp-a-ma-jig! No unmounted stamp to me seen or stamping platform!
I am an old time stamper for Christmas as all my favourites are wood mount. From decades ago too though a couple more recent wood mounts too.
I wasn’t planning on joining today then yesterday I did what was really a quick (for me) WOYWW post and so decided might as well join there too.
Also there was a surprise update on the heat tool saga so thought that would be good to share!
Hope pray for your sake the doors are hung easily and minimal cold air flow. Your card and all UK were mailed on Monday as Auspost scared me last week by saying they should’ve been mailed last Monday 14th. Great to read it at weekend afterwards! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Thanks for Sharing, God bless and keep you safe, and all those you love, hugs Shaz in Oz.x

Good morning Julia. The temperature really dropped here yesterday and it doesn’t feel much warmer this morning, so I agree, stay away from the open doors! We went out with our son to celebrate my husband’s birthday last night at the new Bangladesh restaurant in Hope. I had a korma which was wonderfully coconutty and mild, but my tummy began to complain not long after! Nothing wrong with the food, it’s just my sensitive tummy! Happy WOYWW. Angela # 8

A cold day to be having doors off, hope the work is done quickly so you don’t have to hide away too long. Glad you had a good time in York.

I hope the team can be talked into doing your room first and then you can escape the upstairs room and the ironing. Not a job I like at all. At least you will be warm, I always find ironing is warm work.
As for holographic ep I rarely use mine these days. Since the old breathing started playing up I keep away from it as it flies everywhere and i don't want it to go on my chest. Guess mine is way over five years old.
Have fun and see you next week all being well.
Hugs, Neet 10 xx

Hi Julia, I hope the weather is better where you are or opening any doors will be awful. It's absolutely pouring it down here, don't even think it's fit to take the dogs for their morning walk so hope it misses you. I know it will all be worth it in the end and you have been very patient with all the work that's been going on. Sending hugs for a happy woyww, Angela x12x

Hope everything gets done quickly so you can be cosy and creative in your room. I have sat this morning and ordered all but one of my Christmas presents so feeling ahead of the game. Might have peaked too early - feel like going back to bed now!! Have a good week, love n hugs Cindy xx #7

Oh can't wait to see the new doors, but totally understand the being away from the cold whilst it is being done. I am even feeling the cold now and again these days, shock horror! Love that your desk is so easily movable, it's on wheels isn't it? Still impressed with the Christmas preparations, not a thing done here but just realised it is advent this coming weekend and with son coming home for a concert on 1st Dec and not for either his birthday nor Christmas, I really must get the house decorated like I usually do for advent.
May be I'll make a few cards in Dec - LOL BJ#15 but might become #14 as there is a duplicate before me.

Does this mean you are going to lose your barn door? used to love thinking of you with the top part open . . . will look cleaner and brighter with patio doors though . . . . . wrap up warm and make sure you have plenty of liquid refreshment to hand . . .

Hope you track down another pot of the embossing powder. It's sounds perfect for Christmas. Sounds like you enjoyed your visit to York. It's been many years since I was last there but I did like the Minster and the quaintness of the shopping streets. Hope the doors are up in no time and you can get back to your cardmaking again. HI Julia! Brrr, hopefully the doors can be replaced quickly. Our next door neighbors were having windows replaced yesterday which also made me cold just thinking about it! I have never used Holographic whatever it is. Just embossing powder! Sounds intriguing! Hope you can stay warm, have a great week, Lindart #20

Mini journal internal pages are 5" x 3", based on index cards which I didn't have to hand, so I just used lots of different papers. BJ#15

Thanks for your visit, running late on visits. We took the day out for errands, lunch and casino wins !!!! Most everything will be closed today and I need to pack and get this house in order before I leave in the early morning. My Christmas spirit has faded a bit, will do twinkling trees when I get back and a few special displays with my nativities. So much work to repack at the end of the season. I really enjoyed all my fall displays, but oh the dust. Have a great weekend. It's good we have places to hideout when these projects are making messes to update...still have unfinished trim in the bathroom from April. Too much ladder work for me or it would be done !! ENJOY !!
