What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 564

Well, it’s been a week hasn’t it, gentle desker.  I hope that you’re staying at home and keeping well. If you’re a key worker, my word a lot of people I know would like to shake your hand and tell you how fab you are. For now, will you just take my word for it...we’ll do hugs and handshakes in a few months, huh.
Me and my desk have been friends this week. Saturday was the usual Crop day, and it was held online instead of having to miss it. So I properly carted stash out of my workroom and into the daylight of the newly located desk. Inevitably, I haven’t properly carted it back yet. I give you a sunny afternoon shot:
I had finished another LO and was enjoying a cuppa with Mr Dunnit when it occurred to me to take the photo for today. And schedule this post. Because I’m not going to the workshop at all,  I might have a later start than normal on a Wednesday!  You will be completely unsurprised to hear that we’ve taken the decision to CANCEL the WOYWW CROP in June. Hopefully this ‘early’ decision will enable you to unmake any plans you had. Don’t be disappointed; as soon as we’re all able, we’ll set another date. Making this decision put me in the mood to scrapbook last year’s photos. I will blog the LOs over the next few days; the pictures continue to make me smile, which is as good a reason as any to look forward to whenever we can meet again. Keep well, and please, report in here!

That sounds like a great idea to do the Crop on-line. Sadly we should be having our monthly Craft Club on Saturday but obviously we have cancelled it and I will miss the girls but there's plenty to do at home. Hope you enjoy your WOYWW what ever you choose to do. Sending distant hugs, Angela x3x

Great desk and I hope you enjoyed your virtual crop, it sounds fun and your sunny desk looks fab! Shame about the crop, but it was the only sensible decision as I think we are in this for the long haul...

I look forward to seeing the WOYWW layouts soon. I am working from home, although the office is still (currently) open - not sure for how long (financial services, obviously and people are worried so we've been busy but I self isolated last week as I thought I was getting a cold - just a sniffle - and here I am ) I just wish I could get a grocery delivery! hey ho.. off to get ready for some desks before work!!

Morning Julia. Great idea to join together on-line - meant you didn't all miss out on that important contact. Your new room is really in a beautiful spot - enjoy the sunshine. Sad, but right decision about the WOYWW get together. Yes, we are in this for the long haul, as Helen says.
Take care of yourselves there in the Dunnit household.
God bless.

Think everyone is cancelled or postponing future activities. Thank goodness for modern technology, it has certainly kept me sane this last 10 days never thought I would say that about it. Keep crafting now we have the time and no excuses. Ani#14

Looks lovely and light,. I think we'll all be coming to terms with doing things virtually over the next few weeks. I too seem to have had a slow start this morning despite preparing the post and photos last night!! I have however spoken to lots of people already today - honestly haven't felt this connected in ages so maybe something good will come out of this disaster. Keep safe, keep well xx Cindy #23

Surreal times - thank goodness for the "normality" of our crafting & little world of art. Struggling to see the light at the end of the tunnel & am way too emotional ... but guess a lot of people are feeing the same. The crop was going to clash with nephew number three's wedding reception but, of course, that is now all cancelled ... shall cross my fingers for no clash once everything is rearranged. Much love to you dearest Julia. Love Debbie xXx

That looks the perfect spot for a craft desk. I like the idea of a virtual crop, I can't imagine how bad this situation would be if we didn't have the internet and social media.
Keep safe and well,

What a lovely spot to work! I know making the decision to cancel the WOYWW crop was tough. Maybe by then we can figure out a way to make it virtual for those of us not within travel distance. Hubby just rang the breakfast bell so must scoot. Reindeer Club has been moved to tomorrow. Hugs & Creative Blessings! ~Kelly

Stay well, my friend.

We are all getting to used to life online now aren't we. Thank goodness we have it, this would've been very different if we'd been going through it even 10 years ago. How wonderful that we can still take part in things virtually. Your desk looks like it's in a lovely spot.
Enjoy your week and stay safe

Hi Julia.

It certainly has been a week. No doubt about that!

Your "temporary" workdesk spot looks as bright and inviting as ever, but I'm very curious to know how the swoonworthy kitchen is coming along behind it?!

Happy, if belated, WOYWW!

I have to admit I'm not used to staying home like this (other than daily short trips to get our mail). Lots accomplished and lots yet to catch up on (like mending). Anyway I love your desk view. And so bright!
Hope you have a wonderful and healthy week!

Hi Julia, we have to be great for all the technology we are able to use to stay in touch during this bad time. Online crops are the way to go for now. I've just signed up for one in April. Your desk shot is great - you have os much more light to work in. Belated WOYWW hugs to you and your hubby. Elizabeth x #27

It looks lovely and bright where you've got your desk, Julia. I wonder how your new kitchen is coming along, now we are on lockdown? I am not surprised you've had to cancel the WOYWW crop but a wise decision under the circumstances. Who knows how long this is going to go on? A lot of stuff is being cancelled and we've all got to adjust to a different way of getting together and getting things done - thank goodness for the Internet and the contact we can continue to have on here! The lockdown hasn't affected me much personally, apart from some worry about food shopping, because I'm at home all the time anyway. My hubby pops out for things if I can't get it delivered, and it's lovely having him home all the time at the moment, too. We're quite the little family with our 2 kitties!

Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi #35
