What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 518

Gentle desker, there’s sunshine in my photo because I took it yesterday, at lunchtime. You can’t see it, but the room is covered in gritty dust and even walking into it this morning will cause underfoot crunching and I can’t face it. My desk is protected with a dust sheet each time; so that when he stops, I swing it back into place and use it. Of course, I signed up for a scrapbook challenge to keep me motivated, and I’ve got ATCs to make and I genuinely can’t see the end of the grit just yet. Mind you, I’m not the one doing the digging and wheelbarrowing and emptying and sweating. So I haven’t complained. Except here, now, to you. You get it though, huh.
Lunch time coffee and packaging tapes probably explain a couple of office jobs. I managed to finish the LO and move it out of shot, but hey, it’ll make a great decoy picture some other time! The ‘ball’ of string sitting on the iPad stand is the only thing that gives away my weekend work. I worked in the garden, the string was to bring some order to a plant that deserves a stake and some string. So I Dunnit.
The plastic box contains stickers for scrapbooking. Not alphabet stickers, oh no, they occupy a MUCH bigger storage solution.
So if you’ve decided to take part, how are your ATC designs going? I had a fab idea whilst lying in bed apparently sleeping some time ago. Now all I have to do is get it from head to card.......
Please join us on this round robin of desk tops and work surfaces. Put WOYWW in your post title and link it here. That’s all. How very kind you are.

A busy desk, and I hope the grit is gone soon.. you can moan to us about it all you like... a friend is having an extension built and they will soon be at the breaking through the house wall stage....
I have hidden atcs in progress on my desk today so no hints there but yes, i have a plan... sort of! Helen #1

You'll forget about all the grit and dust when it's all finished Julia and worth every inch of it in the end. Good to know you have something on the go to take your mind off it and you can still get in there to make it happen.
I keep way too much in my head and need to start writing EVERYTHING down as my memory really isn't as good as it used to be. Have fun with those ATC's and Thanks for hosting, I made sure I arrived early this week. Hugs Tracey #5

Oh looks so bright and sunny. What a huge cup but no chair. Here middle of the night it's cold and winds are so strong I cannot sleep. Will have to move to my comfy sofa downstairs. And hot chocolate sounds yummy. Have fun with your scrapbook challenge. Enjoy a great week

Feel free to whinge, I would too! Keep focused on that end result.... I've done my ATCs, not because I'm a smart arse but because May is just crammed with stuff, at least I know they're done.

The grit seems never ending but I’m sure it will all be worth it in the end. Think I’m immune to it now πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ My ATCs are on their way but still more to do....just not a lot of time to do them in.
Hugs,
Annie x

Hi Julia, certainly not sunny today, pouring it down with rain here. Need to start thinking more about the ATCs but as you will see I've had other stuff to make recently. Have a lovely creative woyww, Angela x15x

Hi Julia. I can fully understand the whole 'dust everywhere' etc after last year's work! It seemed never ending and I hated it!
As yet no idea re ATC's :-( I lost my crafting way slightly.Hoping to find my way back this week. Anne X 24

Hi Julia, Hope the building work is soon finished, so you can clean up and settle back into your slot. I had a leaking pipe under my hall floor several weeks ago and had to throw the carpet (it was old). I do not know where the sandy grit keeps coming from. I vacuum it daily, yet it reappears. Hole is to be done a week tomorrow, so once it's all done (pipes to box in, etc.) I'll gert new flooring and hope that stops the sandy grit.

Here's hoping your head works better than mine does. I had a fab idea for a journal page the other week - can i remember now? NO. Not even which of the topics it was for. Good luck with your atc's - mine are still waiting to op into my head.
Don't envy you the muck and stuff but will no doubt be a bright shade of emerald green when I see the finished work. Lucky you having a man who can. Not that I would swap mine at the moment.
Have a lovely week lovely lady, and keep smiling.
Hugs, Neet xx (can't remember no)

Building work does seem never ending doesn't it, I don't blame you feeling frustrated with it, just focus on the wonderful end result! I've just about finished a load of ATC's - how organised is that. I'm being presumptious but I'm hoping some of the people I swapped with last year will want to swap this year, otherwise I've got a lot of card toppers for 10 year olds!!
Have a great week,
Diana xx

Hi Julia, still have a vague idea for ATC's rattling around in my head. The Happy Stampers has a set number of tickets, I think because it's not a gigantic hall, so there is no entry on the day.Got an a bit DIY going on here, just odd things that need tidying up. Dougs got 3 more weeks I think, then we'll see how it all goes. Love & Hugs, Shaz#3 XxXx

Oh that grit and dust gets everywhere doesn't it - BUT there will be an end to it! I get my best ideas in the middle of the night but forget them by the time I wake up!! xx Jo

Nothing like a little grit underfoot to wake you in the morning. It is hard living in a construction zone and I think you must be a saint to have your craftroom right in the middle of it all. Hang in there and I sure hope the end result is worth it. Enjoy the sunshine!

Happy WOYWW. One advantage of having my craft room upstairs and at the end of the house is that noone else comes in here. There are a few cracks in the plaster that will need sorting eventually, but hoping that can wait until we move out of the house. Removing everything a few years ago so that the decorator could come in and redo one wall was absolutely exhausting, and I cannot cope with dust etc at the moment. ATCs - they are on my To Do list, but that is as far as I have got. Perhaps next week! Ali x #25

There is no doubt that grit and dust is horrid, but it will all be worth it in the end although i can understand the reluctance to go in and craft when it is like that. Looking forward to seeing you soon. Not long now! Happy WOYWW. With love & God Bless, Caro x (#17)

Morning, Julia. Sorry for the double entry this week, but when I came to link it to other sites, it would not work properly, so I had to go back to square one and redo the lot. I really feel for you with all that truthiness to deal with. It gets everywhere, doesn't it? Hope you can soon clear it all away. xxx Maggie (Silvercrafter) #20

Oh Julia, your ATC ideas sound much like mine, I’ve kinda started, kinda know the rough idea.... but really only done base, now where tooo? Sounds a little like the gritty goings on though are producing results, it’s just a real drag in interim, eh? At least I was able to jointiday albeit rather late, it’s bed time but had something to share so here I am! Happy WOYWW,

Ugh on the construction dust. I think I'll keep my mess that is in sad need of sorting before my big SU order arrives tomorrow. But yeah, I get the sharing with us. That's what friends are for. At least you have an idea for your ATCs. Hopefully, mine will come to me as I clean today. Creative Blessings! Kelly 27ish

Oooh... I think I would not go into my workroom/atelier untill the construction was all done and over with, I just can't stand the dirt/dust creeping into my stuff and books and all and I would get grumpy all the time. You stay amazingly positive Julia, good for you! Hope you see sunshine again soon, it's cold and grey here in The Netherlands these past days (and today.) I finished crocheting my skirt and I am waiting for sunshine to wear it! Happy woyww, hug from Holland, Marit #22

A busy desk for the first time in this year 2019. My muse left me through sickness and all and now I am happy again to be able to make some art.
Thank you for still being around.

Kind regards

Hi Julia, I'm gritting my teeth thinking of your grit and I commend you for keeping on crafting during the disruption. It'll be worth it - eventually! Love the 'dunnit' comment - you've not used it for a long time :) Have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #27

Julia, You asked what the black thing was next to my keyboard. It's a mouse mat, with a bump to rest your wrist on.It helps with my Carpal Tunnel. The mouse was sitting on the mat.

I was thinking it has been a very long time since I was organized enough to participate with WOYWW. I hear you with the renovations dust. I am the major renovator around here, so it is my mess to clean up. And it takes a long long time for it to settle and be gone.{also the cleaner around here too}It has been a few months of getting things done. I don't have a photo to share, but if I did it could be titled chaos becomes comfortable. Because in the midst of the renos I was motivated to start organizing the happy place as well. It takes a mess to get it done. Sigh my job and my mess as well. I will have to look into the ATC trade and maybe I can joint up! Anyhow keep smiling and creating dear desker's.

Since I'm usually barefoot in our house the thought of grit on the floor makes me cringe. Hopefully all the work will be done soon and you won't need the sheet! I haven't yet decided if I'll do the ATC swap, so much happening this month. Thanks for taking time to stop by and have a great week!

Hi Julia, oh dear I hate the grit and dust ... still waiting for Mr M to fill in the holes that the electrician left when he rewired all the lights. Then there will be more dust, followed by decorating and more dust - it never ends! Glad you are still able to craft. Thanks for stopping by .... Oh I don't think I'll be able to cut up my one and only masterboard lol, but we'll see. Looking forward to the ATC swap and the Crop and meeting you - getting closer now! Have a lovely week Heather x #11

Hi Julia, love all your word creativity (duunnit...) It's already good that the ideas are in your head, that is the first step.
FYI, I actually first cleaned my desk, I am not a clean crafter.
