What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 373

Well now, last week's explanation of the door to the garage being behind and opposite my desk was a classic case of too much description wasn't it!  I don't have panoramic photography skills (even if I have the technology), so here is a shot of one wall of my workroom. You can see the 'office section' (computer and printer!) and my die cutting section on the worktop. At right, you can see my desk. It's on wheels you know, so that we can easily access the barn door against which it resides. At left but out of sight, therefore on the opposite wall and behind my desk, is the door to the garage! - that rounded worktop in front of the computer only extends about another 10" out of shot, see.
I'm so glad we've cleared that up. Nothing else has been cleared up yet, but I've finished clearing and organising my wardrobe now, so this room is next. (I've only been at home for 8 weeks, whaddya expect!)
We had a lovely  the best afternoon and evening with Darnell in Salisbury last Wednesday; I know that Darnell has already blogged about it, and I know Jan will be showing a couple of pics too, so I wont repeat - but my word, if you like a chat, we really should meet! Meanwhile, divulge your summer artworks will ya - lets see those desks in the best light of the year!

Who needs to clear up workspaces when there is chatting to do..at least the lawnmower has gone though. Need to track down Darnell's blog to catch up with the photos..
Hope today goes well, from the look of you in Jan's photo I am sure they'll be mighty pleased with your progress. xx Helen

I think you'll have to do a floor plan of your room to satisfy everyone's curiosity! Thinking of you today, let me know how it goes.

Like Jan's idea of you drawing out a room plan for us all to see glad you all had a fun time meeting up with Darnell hugs Nikki 4

That is an excellent idea of Jan's. Maybe we should all do a floor plan. You look so tidy and I just love your room view. What is all this "tidy'itis you have? Clearing wardrobes and craft rooms - might have to have you stay a week or so and you can do mine.
Loved seeing he photos of you when you met Darnell - off myself today to see her but it will be a quickie as we will have to be back for the workmen.
Take care

Chatting and crafting is always better than cleaning. Your space looks efficiently organized. Craft spaces are always messy when I am around. Have a good week. Glad you are doing better. Peg R #8

Hehehe A floor plan next please :-) Mine would be covered with threads of course....that is if Milly hasn't eaten them all!...she certainly has taught me to work tidier. Really hope all goes well today....sending you lots of love.

Sounds like you had a fun time chatting (the photo on Jan's blog is super).
Lovely seeing a wider view of your craft space - so different from your 'swing from the ceiling' shots of your desk LOL
Have a wonderful week.

Hi Julia, Just been on Jan's blog and saw the photo. I do think if you really were a good friend of Jan's, you would have told her she had a caterpillar on her top lip;) As to yours it suits you:) LOL

I love the fact your desk is mobile:)

Happy WOYWW.

Hope you have a lovely day. Sue #9

I think I "get it" now. Clearly I was very unobservant when visiting you! So good to see you last week. I finally got round to sharing my desk after a month long absence for no particular reason. However, the light was dreadful as it had jut started raining. Thinking of you today x

It's great to see you back in the driving seat for WOYWW, Julia, and I wish you all the very best for your continuing recovery and return of strength. These things take time, I know only too well. It's lovely to see a diffrerent view of your room, which I am glad is no longer a parking bay for a lawnmower!

Happy WOYWW,

It's great to be back with you, Julia, not that it wasn't a pleasure to go to Jan first for a few weeks, but normality is always good. You have such a large crafty space,it must take a lot of organising, although chatting and catching up with friends should always come first.

This is my first day to be back since you have been back and I must say it is so wonderful to have you here at the helm once again. Your space looks great! I've always loved the windows over your space giving you lots of wonderful light!
This view is very impressive as well!

Happy WOYWW. A floor plan would be good - I will do one next week, especially as I would have sorted out all my new storage by then. My 'craft room' is also multi-purpose - what with doing my Tarot readings in here, anything on my PC, printers, sewing machine etc - even got a large tv, which I never watch! We are all so lucky to have such spaces - very precious to me. We are thinking of possibly moving house in the next few years, and a downstairs craft room is essential (I am upstairs here and it is hard for me to cope with the to'ing and fro'ing). Enjoy your week. Ali x #26

Hi Julia, I'm totally behind this morning. I was convinced it was Tuesday right up till half past 10, then had to quickly do my post when I realised I'd lost a day somewhere! I've only just realised I hadn't written you a comment. I think I need to go drink a gallon of coffee and see if I can sort myself out. Looks like you had a great time with Darnell, we did too. Thank you my friend, for all the fab friendships you've given us through this blog of yours. So many people I'd never have met, yourself included, if you hadn't had this brilliant idea. Lots of love to you, huge hugs and we'll see you soon. xxxxShaz #24

It's great to see the other side of your craft room, Julia! That family portrait on the wall has immediately captured my attention. It would be lovely to take a closer look, though I'm sure you must have showed it some time ago. Enjoy your week - hope you're improving every day! zsuzsa #28

So glad you are back and in control of things again, Julia. I had hoped to have my basement cleaned up by now, but I am avoiding it because every time I go down there, I start coughing and wheezing. So it's taking longer than I anticipated. But until it is cleaned up properly, I can't sit at my slow computer and join in the fun for days on end. I'm just glad to see you are feeling better and your humor is still soundly intact.

I want to begin by thanking you and saying I'm glad you're back to hosting WOYWW. (I was absent during your comeback post last week.) Although Jan did an excellent job during your absence. That's an interesting new view of your studio. I also like the portrait of whom I assume are your family members. Blessings, my friend!

Oooh. I do love this wrap around view--so handy to have your computer in its own special corner. I just work from a laptop at home, so it moves around. But hopefully I can get a nice big desktop computer I've had my eye on, very soon. You are so smart with your underdesk storage too! Hope you are having a good week dearest. Hugs! I've been doing more socializing than cleaning lately, too. The clutter will wait and usually the social occasions will not! It's fun to see a different angle of your space! Glad to hear that you had a wonderful visit with Darnell. Happy WOYWW!

So glad to hear your desk is on wheels and that you don't have to limbo out to the garden. Just managed it today, hope your appointment goes OK BJ#34

So does it get cold in the wintertime with a barn door in your work space? You have lots of horizontal working surfaces which is so very nice. I think if you've organized your wardrobe, you should break and rest up before tackling any more projects. At least that's how I feel after every project. Blessings, LisaDV #35

Dear Julia, popping over and seeing/reading your words two weeks in a row for me just makes the world RIGHT again! Jus tin case you haven't heard it enough - "I am so glad you are back doing your blog thing again!" I cannot stop looking at that beautiful artwork hanging over your desk/ Is it of your family? I would love to read the story behind THAT - maybe next week? (hint-hint) I am off to create my WOYWW post for today... Happy Week Dear One!

Well, as you say, that clears it up then, doesn't it? Does it? I wasn't confused before, but now I am, so now you'll say, "Why do I bother with these people?!" lol! So glad to see on FB that you are done with Neurotical - keep up the great work! I hope I start everyone having visits and chats around Blogland. It really was the best to see you!! Love and hugs, Darnell

Wait. What? I don't think this really is your desk. This is photoshopped. Faked. I thought you had shelves stacked with stuff to the left of that desk and window..... oh, color me confused. It's looking good though and I'll bet it feels good to be accomplishing something like getting your wardrobe sorted out.

I'm still intrigued by the door; Not as baffled as I was with the lawn mower under the desk; I just can't imagine driving ours through the house! Glad you had such a good visit...and there is plenty of time yet to organize. Have a great week!

Hello Julia,

Welcome back! I hope you are doing well; it sounds like you have lots of energy to get things done. Love the explanation of the doors, which means I will have to go read your previous post.

One of the clothes rods fell in my closet so I'll be straightening out that mess this weekend! Hopefully it's not a major job to put the rod up again, just longer screws and LESS clothes.

So glad you got to meet Darnell. Isn't it fun when fellow WOYWWers meet. Coming to one of the crops is on my bucket list!!

Hugs,
Kay

Oh wow. How many WOYWWers have you met so far? What a wonderful trip! How long did it take you to plan everything out? I'm quite impressed. You made me laugh about your suitcase and backpack getting heavier. That happened with me on the Alaska trip and that was for only 9 days.

So glad you are having a grand time. Great photos you're sharing and can't wait to see what else you will be sharing.

Hugs,
Kay
