WOYWW? 314

This page and a link on it will may help you if you're thinking of joining us - don't be put off by my ability to use twenty words where one would do. Consider it a good way to learn the art of speed reading.
Well that introduction is the perfect illustration of another skill that I possess in spades - procrastination, and here's proof:.

I have tidied a bit, and so you can actually see the desk surface, and I have moved on and am trying to make some cards for another workshop. Got stuck when my original floral idea bombed and was considering the apple. and not really doing much with it for the last 3 days. But...was in the vicinity of the Shopkeeper Gal's yesterday afternoon and she has lent me the Indigo Blu set you can see...it contains a more realistic style of flower. A poppy, actually. So that's to be tried. You can see one of the newer Distress Ink colours...and there's 3 packs of card blanks as well. I plan to be a busy card maker! See the Minion-esque buttons - too cute to leave at the shop!
So there gentle readers, is my mess for the week...please send me waves of your will power to be tenacious over the card-in-progress and then I can move on!
And while you're doing that, be inspiring and show us what you're up to on your work desk. Surface. Tray.Lap....you get it. Put WOYWW in your post title and link here. Somebody who suffered and EPIC failure in visiting last week will more than make up for it this week. I'll prolly have to sleep with the boss to get the time, but you know me, anything for the cause!

I'm not much of a stamper, yet I simply adore that Indigo Blue flower. It is beautiful even before it's stamped. I agree those buttons are just as cute as a minion's ear. Happy WOYWW, and thanks for being such a wonderful host and friend.

Am sending you vibes to get that poppy inked, from the backside it looks amazing! I have so many poppy stamps and yet there are always so many more I "may" need... good to see bits of your desk; apart from the fact it means you're not creating..Have a great week.

Love the coaster. Are those buttons little Minions? Need to know if they are - gosh those little yellow guys get everywhere.
Hope you get sorted with the card, the stamp looks good but I am not sure about green poppies - blue yes but green? No, I know you are not stamping them in that colour but hey, it is early doors for me.
Have a good week.

Oh my, procrastination! My main desk is a picture of major procrastination. I'm not showing it this week. it's not at all inspiring! Happy WOYWW, Julia! I was so disappointed not to join the anniversary swap. I was sick (I still have a cough) and travelling the whole day and as we say here, my powers couldn't handle it!

I really would like to see that poppy stamp inked, cos I can never see what they are like by the stamp, need to see it in the flesh. Such cute little buttons. Oh the suffering we do for our art, sleeping with the boss, must be hard :)
Have a good one!

you'd show your knickers for chocolate? well, chocolate, craft time or woyww browsing time... all is for a good cause. I was really cleaning my desk, but started making my woyww post in between, and the desk is still midway :) so that for procrastinating/procraftinating.

Hi Julia. Love the little buttons but can't quite see who makes them? If things go wrong I usually work over it or rip it up and make it part of something else usually a masterboard or some sort of abstract design, I might put it under the pile and wait for inspiration or just use it to clean my stamp on. "Waste not, want not" as they say. Although actually there are lots of things I want but then I digress Lol! Have a great woyww, Angela xXx 24

Just read your question and the short answer is NO. The long answer is I spent much of Sunday on my hands and knees cleaning that filthy basement studio floor. It didn't look THAT bad until I started cleaning it, and realized the floor was supposed to be white, not umber. After all that time, I was exhausted and sore. Monday was spent doing lots of chores, running errands, and trying to get unstiff (not really a word, I realize, but it's how I felt).

I had planned to use the gelli to make my Summer of Color entry, but yesterday (Tuesday) spent the day dyeing fabric and going a far different route than I originally planned. I hope to play with it on Thursday before I manage to track dirt on my pristine floor again.

Not sure why I was so insistent to get one of those plates. I much prefer gelatin. AND, I don't have to worry if I gouge my fingernails in the gelatin, because I can just melt it down again and remove the nicks. I even like the feel of gelatin better. There's really something I can't place, but it has to do with the way the gelli acts under the brayer. Hope this doesn't put you off, because I know Mary Anne sure likes hers.

I had to zoom in to get a better look at those buttons when I spied the "Will show knickers for chocolate". LOL!!! Will have to check out the new distress colors on line. Always enjoy stopping by your desk and reading your musings. Diane #27

Love the poppy stamp - one of my favourite flowers. You have to have lots of stuff on your desk when you are trying out ideas - a tidy desk is uninspiring ;-)

I don't have any willpower, so can't spare any for you, but I'm sending cosmic ripples that might do something....or not. At least I can send happy, crafty thoughts. {smile} Have a good week, and happy WOYWW.

The poppy stamp looks rather lovely. Coincidentally I was tempted by a peony in the same range earlier today. Good luck with the workshop card. Been there!

Hi Julia, yes, totally agree, it is a crap situation, rofl. Only thing to do about it is laugh at it.On the plus side, and you have to take your positives where you can find them- two weeks in hospital should definitely help with the weight loss this time! Do love Indigo Blu stamps, the designs are beautiful. I really need to stop buying stamps, and start using them a bit more. Doug is my supervisor at work- you're not the only one who sleeps with the boss, lol. Huge hugs, Shaz xxxxx

The flower stamp is so cute! And I can see how you couldn't walk away from the minions--they look like little muses laying there, just cheering you on to a beautiful cardmaking victory. And I'm like you--why say one word in a blog, when twenty will do! Thank you for your lovely comment last week. I wanted to tell you that yes indeed, that was hand cream on my desk at all times...not a tube of paint. The paint is all thrown together in a basket where I store the gelli plate. It is a lemon chamomile hand cream from Kohls, and it is delightful. I think it is a necessary supply when you spend hours scrapbooking! Hugs and have a wonderful day. Sandy Leigh

I love floral stamps and marvel at how it's possible to have very strong feelings about which florals work for what, but that's how it is. I have a large Hero Arts hydrangea which is perfect for so many things -- birthday, sympathy, anniversary, thinking of you . . . Happy WOYWW! ~ Laura #54

Begging forgiveness for being absent for over a year - have genuine excuse! Fully recovered from nervous breakdown now, also retired so no more stress (which is what caused it), loads of time for crafting (and new crafts of spinning/dyeing/weaving) and still not enough hours in the day!
Just realising how much I've missed 'normal' Wednesdays with WOYWW visits!

Is that the reject card in the middle of your desk there? I like the design but not the image on it. That Indigo Blu stamp is huge so I'm not seeing where it is going on that card but I'm sure you will do something nice with it. We get to see bits of desktop today-a rare sighting. Don't make it a habit though, we expect better from you! LoL! Judy #56

Ooo, I'm late this week! Thursday already - sorry!

Well, this week you've managed "tidy up" instead of "push back", so as far as I'm concerned, it's a big success, even before you showed us your projects!
I like your little red card, with a doily and flower - it looks sweet. But can't wait to see the poppies, all printed and beautiful.

Have a good week, Julia!
