What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 414

Whew! Skidding in with a photo that will reassure or sadden, I don't know!
It's a bit dull yet, but there's hope of lovely sunshine again today. Which is nice, because it will make me feel better whilst I set to and tidy up. Again. I've been doing a couple of scrapbook challenges that were set at the weekend to mark National Scrapbook Day. Turns out I scrap very, very slowly. The challenges were being posted at proper, do-able intervals, but there's no way I could tackle each one unless I have a fortnight off! The iPad chair is empty again (I used it for the photo), the weird picture above it is actually a cereal box. The right size this time, to make a mail holder for my friend. She will have forgotten all about it by now, so it will either be a delightful surprise or an embarrassing moment of 'I didn't really want one, just being polite about yours' thing. I'll let you know! The layout is waiting for a title. I know what I want it to say, it's just quite long and I have to brace myself to sort it out! Show and tell us what your space has been home to this week then - please!

It amazes me how some people manage to do so many challenges! Challenging enough of rme just to look at a blog much less post something! thanks for the visit as ever!

Loving your desk this morning and it's nice to see some sunshine - it has been in very short supply here the last few days! hope your friend likes her mail box!

Morning! Waiting for son to arrive, hope he is ok being so tired and in the rush hour traffic.
Love the cereal box, now I will have to scour the supermarket shelves to see what brings us the green monster LOL. Of course I have long been an admirer of your deck chair yet never seen one anywhere else.
Think we all begin to slow down, age is my excuse and I seem to spend half a day thinking about which stamp to use for something. Reminds me I have a few cards to make and now nowhere to spend time rummaging - in case I awaken sleeping son. He is so bad tempered when he misses sleep - just like his mum.
Hugs, Neet xx 1 (I think)

Don't know how but I read your page then pass down to the other names and forget to comment on yours. Very naughty when you are the host accept my apologies please. I have never done scrapbooking so don't know what it is all about. I work at my pace my challenges are the cards I make for my friends etc that is why I am always in advance. Christmas soon!! Hi Julia, well, I only managed to complete one page and that was a day late. So I scrap very slowly too and really don't know how they do it ... that's the scrappers who can knock out a layout in an hour. It takes me too long just to decide on photo placement never mind what papers and embellishments to use, what the title is going to be and then there's the journalling - it all takes time, lots of it! Hope you get the sunshine you're waiting for - it's very promising here too. Take care, have a lovely day, and week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #11 (something of a miracle)

Ah... now we all know your preferred choice of breakfast fodder lol
Your desk looks quite organised today :) and your hope of sunshine looks promising indeed. I do believe that the older we get, the slower we craft... whether that's because we are easily distracted, change our minds too often (what with all the stash we've accumulated over the years lol) or just plain forgetful as to what we were trying to do in the first place, I have no idea lol
Happy Crafting!

Seems we all have creative dilemmas. I can't start a new project without clearing the decks. Hence the mega clearing session now. The dumping of stuff has gathered momentum recently and it was getting hard to find the floor.
Good luck with your tidying up Julia, it doesn't come naturally does it haha.

Seems always to me like other people don´t have laundry, cooking, grocery shopping, pets, houses to clean....hihihi! If I had all the time to myself...well...I could do a LOT more! I think that´s the ´problem´ for us all, we should live in a world with twice the amount of time a day!
Have a nice week, to me it looks sunny on your picture!!

Hi Julia, nice desk this morning. The sunshine is nice but to be truthful we need some rain here in Lincolnshire as it's been very dry.
Look forward to seeing the end result of the project. Happy woyww, Angela x16x

Morning Julia. I'm afraid I can't keep up with challenges. I don't work quickly as a general rule. I like to try different things together etc etc - takes me ages. It's a wonder I get ready in time for my classes- maybe that's why I only do one a month, with thee odd extra one thrown in for those who don't make it on a Saturday morning. I have no idea how people manage lots of different , varied events a week. Look forward to seeing your mail holder when it is finished. Anne x #17

Ahh Julia can so relate to your slow mode crafting that's me all over, loving your scrapping and yes titles are tricky. Hope you're keeping well and wonder how much longer you'll have your view for... enjoy your sunshine too.

A BIG Thank You for getting me back on the scrapbooking road. Hope you sort your title out, know what you mean about wanting to say too much. My last one was going to be "Halted the Takeover" I had cut out the two main words (not the "the") and then realised I could switch the order and forget the "THE" altogether eureka! Thanks again BJ#21

I did wonder what sort of film you were watching!! lol
Best of luck working out your words ..... never been much good at that sort of thing myself so can't offer any help.
Have a good week

I am a slow worker too and trying to do lot of challenges at once makes me freeze... Just choose the ones you really like! I love the layout on your desk although I cannot clearly see it... will you post a photo when it's finished? I do hope you have Sunshine coming in today... sun is shining overhere but it's still chilly outside (14 Celcius) - I long for warm(er) weather! Big hug from Holland, Marit #23

I must admit that if I really got into scrapbooking that I'd have to move into my shed permanently. For the moment I'll stick with cards and journals, they take up enough of my time. It looked a fun blog hop and your layouts were fab. Sarah #25 (late this week).

Good Morning wishes to you, storm warnings here, but my DH needs a break, pushing long and hard to get field work done. I would love to see that box when you finish the mail holder. I did 3 to 5 card challenges a week when I first started blogging, was so fun. I love pressure, but the past year I can't even get my "Birds" onto a card !! Never done scrapbooking, as with my DIL I don't get photos so why try. My hope is to do a journal in the near future. Love the boxes of embellishments! Have fun finishing up your projects.

Hi Julia, I panic at deadlines, lol, so struggle with any sort of challenge. I mean, I start off with good intentions, lol.Nice box of sparkly stuff! Doing my visits while waiting for an Amazon delivery- our shredder went to the great paper pile in the sky yesterday- took us an hour to find one on Amazon- who knew there were so many choices? But Doug is officially classed as a student, through a course they have to do at work, so gets Prime free with it, which is a bonus. Although, when he told me he was getting a student card, my first words were- ooh, that'll come in handy in art shops! LOL. Have a lovely day Julia, Love & Hugs, Shaz #8 Xxx

Hello there stranger! Hmm, deadlines and me are a problem - I do try to keep ahead with some things but challenges are happening less and less! I'm here but not here if you know what I mean but with Happy Stampers photos to share just HAD to join in!!! I will do my best with visits! Hugs, Chrisx

I'm a slow scrapper as well, though I do mine digitally. I made a list in a book on my desk of all the pages I need to do. The book stares at me accusingly every time I go into the room. The book has a lot of projects listed in it that I want to get done. I might have to stash that book somewhere lol!
Happy Wednesday!

I rarely scrap fast enough to complete the challenges on NSD either . . . but it's FUN to try & I enjoy the INSPIRATION!

Stacy Sheldon said...

for scrapbooking I am extreme clean and simple so, I hardly ever look at challenges for that. I think because, the reliving the memories as you scrap the photos is where the time goes :) that's ok. that's why you save them right?

"I didn't really want one, just being polite about yours" LOL I know exactly what you mean! I haven't been around for a while and it was nice catching up with everyone today. Wishing you a lovely week, Julia!

Your desk looks very industrious and organised this week, Julia, and you sound very busy! Thank you for your visit and your insightful comment - yes, I suppose it is about the journey for me, which is probably why I have so many UFOs lying around (UnFinished Objects) - I really am trying to get on with some of them this year! I'm a bit of a butterfly always wanting to try something new and then not finishing it, and seem to be getting more undisciplined as time goes on lol! And yes, it's all about loo rolls, and tea bags too... and the occasional bit of chicken packaging!
