What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 433

I ended up in a stew of so much last week that I've only just caught up! I managed to tidy my desk sufficiently to finish the cards I had committed to, so then decided to back pedal a little and do some real seasonal stuff. As is my habit, I put the last piece on the card, put the glasses down and went to do some real work. It's a skill you know, being able to walk away like that. In any other life scenario, it would give me the guilts and would cause me to have an unhappy conscience, but because this only affects me, it seems ok!
The keyboard is looking precariously balanced now I see it in the photo, so will remove that to it's correct place momentarily! A basket of finished Christmas cards is visible at left, and my need to always use more than one pair of scissors is evident as usual. I made both cards using the positive and negative of a die cut. The colour is just sponged distress inks. Missteejay  wondered where I got the pink egg shape sponges that I use for such things. 99p each in the make-up section at Home Bargains. I have one per colour, not per shade..i.e one for reds, one for blues. Even though as make-up sponges they are a bargain, a pound each could still run into ridiculous amounts of money just to improve a blended look! The 'tube' is a roll of wrapping cellophane waiting for me to er, wrap things. Everything else is as always!
Please share your early autumnal offerings then, lets see what's doing it for you this week.

a whole basket of finished cards... that's impressive. I am so tempted not to make my Christmas cards this year but know they'll get done... eventually! Have a great week.

Now that is a very tidy desk for someone who is making pretty cards. I think I may have followed in your footsteps while travelling in the US.

So much crafting and creating and yet such a tidy desk....how do you do it? It seems we are both in festive flow this week and it's only September! Be prepared as they say....and yes I used to be a Brownie, did you?
See you soon. Hugs,

I wish I could train myself to do my proper work properly instead of fiffing and faffing around all day. You should see the height of my filing tray Julia and doing even start me on shredding. I'll just say I keep shoving papers in the bottom drawer of the filing cabinet in the hope that the shredding monster will come to life and gobble it all up.

A container full of C Cards? Gosh, I cannot even keep up with Birthday cards at the moment. C is just a long way off (pretending to self).
Had to smile at the remark about the scissors, I discovered, on moving in and out of my craft room over the past few months, that I have several pairs myself. Funny how we NEED lots of scissor - and I still want some longer bladed ones.
Cannot believe the crop is so close now - must get my act together and stop playing about.
See you soon
Hugs, Neet 7 xx

Djeeez, your desk looks tidy! (Exept for that keyboard...did you put it in a safe place yet?) I'm a 'last minute' decider/creator when it comes to X-mas cards... I usually decide NOT to make cards and then end up in the week before X-mas working my but off making a whole bunch... it will probably go like that this year too. Some habits are hard to change. Hope the UK weather is as nice as we have here: nice Autumn sun! Enjoy! Hug from Holland, Marit #20

Such beautiful cards! I love the tree die cut you used. I have been in a very autumn seasonal mood myself too, due to my after-summer-but-not-yet-fall break from the past week. We lucked out on the weather in Sweden, and it seems the good fortune is shining back home too. Have a wonderful week! xo Cheetarah #21

WOW, I am impressed. Work space and it's color co-ordinates with the orange scissors and other accessories. I really love the 2 cards you have shared and re-inspired me on positive and negative die cuts. I've a stack of them.
Enjoy a lovely week, thanks for hosting.

Een volle tafel met leuke dingen. Jammer dat de kaarten die je maakt, niet helemaal goed te zien zijn. Ik zou ze best wel van dichtbij willen bekijken. Fijne dag vandaag.

It is always amazing to me the things we notice in photographs that just go right through us when we are looking at them. ( I notice that about card shots all.the.time. ) so, the comment about the keyboard made me grin.

I love those fall cards you have going on too Julia :) ~Stacy #28

Hi Julia, I'm always happy about die cuts that let you use both pieces. Been having a bit of a nap- well, most of the day, to be truthful. Those make up sponges are a great bargain, aren't they?Love & huge hugs, Shaz XxX #2

Hi Julia. Nice tidy desk! I like the cards, both the positive and negative look equally good. Not something I had considered, but definitely will do. Have a lovely week, Heather

Lovely busy desk! I do love twofers : D. They make me feel so efficient lol. Impressive quantity of cards and lovely to boot.

Hi Julia, love the cards on your desk today and like the idea of getting two for one from the die. so to speak. I seem to have been in a bit of a stew for weeks despite all my most valiant efforts to keep up but, from now on, I'll try to keep what you say about it only affecting me so it's okay. Nice tip about the egg shape sponges - so much cheaper than the ones I bought from the craft shop. Have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #34

Late leaving comments; I love the look of the 2 cards on your desk, and am insanely jealous of a container of Christmas cards!! And I agree with your comments about doodling being more mindless than mindful; honestly that was not my favorite Wanderlust lesson. Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!
