What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday 422

Well gentle Desker, this week is the biggest treat. You know when you read my blog on a Wednesday and comment and link your own blog and we visit and you're familiar with the names and we think of ourselves as a community and we (I) love that? Well, brace yourselves....there are people reading watching admiring and learning from your desks who don't blog themselves so don't link up. It never occurred to me that there would be readers I didn't know.  Then Kathy made contact because she read that we were going to be in Idaho and we should meet because she's been reading the blog (at least the Wednesday portion) for about three years! Well colour me thrilled. And she and her lovely husband ONLY live five hours from Eagle, Idaho, so it's almost a certain meeting!
Turns out she was right. Once we got our heads around the distances involved in touring this country, we arranged to meet half way. And I managed to talk so much that to shut me up, Kathy agreed to let me use one of her photos as my desk of the day...behold....
Now let's face it, that is one interesting shot. I have seen others. Kathy has a genius way to store clear stamps. she's a Sheena Douglas fan and has all of her kit.....and of course, she gave me gifts. Which I will share when I'm over the generosity. ILl also be telling you more about our lovely meeting. standby.
Meanwhile, please share your desks and current makes...I particularly, need to come back down to Brisitsh earth and resume my procrastinating!

Oh, WOW! I so want to rummage around that room - it is amazing! :)
The internet certainly has made a small world seem even smaller - and when it comes to finding like-minded people and soon-to-be-friends like Kathy, it's a lovely kind of world too :)

Great to see a new desk, from a non blogger(she should be persuaded!) How fabulous you got to meet a fan of WOYWW. I still have no makes to share, but here are new stamps, so that is nearly as good, right?!

That's an even busier desk than yours, dear Julia.

I've had a conversation with an internet friend who was explaining to other bloggers the difference between British English and American English. For the life of me, though I can't figure out what Brisitsh is!

Hope you have a great week.

Hi Julia. What a great time you are having. A fan of WOYWW - that's brilliant. I remember I used to come peek each week before I had a site and blogged too - even won a painting of Patsy's before I set up my own site!
Take care - continue to enjoy your time away. God bless.

Wow Julia, what a great post. The Internet certainly is a globe-shrinker, isn't it. How lovely to see a new desk, and for you to make a new friend through WOYWW. Perhaps this will persuade her to start blogging! I am sure everyone will join me in saying "Hi" to her! So glad you are having such a lovely trip away. Travel safely! Goodness this is early for me 7 a.m.! - I'm still in bed, having a cup of tea and on my iPad. BTW by my reckoning this is WOYWW 421 - but whatever number it is, have a happy one!

It looks like you're having a brilliant time....sooooo well deserved.

Loving the desk - it looks a very serious crafter's desk and I would love to have a rummage. Hi to Kathy and great that you met up with her.

Yeah we are stalked - if you look at your footfall for your site you will see there are gazillions more visitors than the number of us linked up show offs... Love that the shy brigade have the wonderful courage to drop the invisibility cloak and meet in person - which let's face it - is far more brave than hiding behind the edited, cropped (pun intended) life of the blog...and yes land, jet lagged and full to brim with ides, and spend forever getting around to anything, at some point, for we love you as you are, actual productivity on an industrial scale? ...such stuff is a ridiculous idea...and leads to exhaustion at the mere thought...

That is so lovely! I think we need to get Kathy into blogging! We would ALL love to meet her! Look forward to reading about your meeting - what's 5 hours by US standards, huh? Hope you're having the time of your life Julia! xx

Hi Julia, your trip sounds so much fun. How we perceive distance here in the UK is way different from folk across the pond. Love Kathy's desk and would have a great time rummaging around her stash. Apologies for being so late this week - I'm writing this from my DH's new tablet and it's a bit hit and miss whether you'll even see it. Keep enjoying your holiday and safe journey.
