It's a side shot from me today. This is my 'cutting' station. It is on the worktop at the immediate left of my desk.
Despite my habitual laziness, I always stand to use the Big Shot. I don't know if this is because I don't have the same arm power if I stay seated, maybe it's because my arms are too short to reach the selection of dies. I rather suspect that it's more to do with the state of my scraps box. It's too full to hunt through without standing up! Apparently, it's in colour order. I remember that there are tabbed dividers between the colours. I also remember at some point deciding that anything A5 and under would go in the box for re-use. A4 or similar that have just been snipped would be re-housed at their original location with the whole sheets. I'm not sure how the rule was broken down, but I am pretty sure it has something to do with me. You can just see that the pen and scissor holder at right are on my desk. It usually spans the two surfaces and this is a clue as to why my desk isn't in the shot. We had to move it away from the door at the weekend to allow access and you guessed it - it's piled high with stuff.
Show us what you're up to then, it keeps some of us going!

I really must go through my scraps box again - it is mostly full of rubbishy pieces that are too small to do anything with! I can see a tab, so your system is kind of working.... Have a wonderful Easter.
I usually stand to use my Cuttlebug too, although if super organised can sit as well. That's some scrap box! BJ#5
Morning Julia. Do you know? I remember saying something similar to myself about A4 "snippets"! Didn't last long for me either! Mine are in a total mess - and of course, when I need to cut something on the big shot, there's never quite the right colour of paper or card in there... Oh well...
Take care lovely girl. God bless.

Oh I miss you window..but I like that little red, white and blue lunch box. I always stand when using my Big Shot, I think it's my short arm length and lack of strength as I have aged. I need to have a creative day soon. Wishing you and yours a wonderful Easter Sunday.
I went through my scrap box too (a5 poundland pockets) in colour, stamped (I stamped a load I images at your crop from fellow woywwers) etc. I quite enjoyed sorting it...mind you I was avoiding the housework!
I'm too scared to show you my scrap boxes. I have two; one for coloured/patterned scraps and one for black/white/gold/silver/brown/cream. I too spent a lot of time organising them by colour, that lasted all of two minutes. Nice to see another view of where you craft Julia. Happy WOYWW Sarah #8
Morning Julia. I like your turquoise Big Shot, very pretty. Like you, I can't operate a Big Shot shot sitting down.
I try to organise my papers ìn the same way, but there's always the bit that has a big bite out of it and it is not clear whether it is now A4 or A5.

Hi Julia yes I stand up to use my Big Shot too lol. Haven't got the muscle power !I have many scrap boxes inherited from my late MIL and I am looking forward to having a look at her crafting. Every box will tell a story no doubt.

I just stand to craft! Unless I'm colouring in, then I will sit. Great desk

I have to stand at my cutting table....and yes it's a height thing but it's my only exercise during my working day apart from moving from machine to machine to do different jobs. Just as well Milly needs exercise isn't it? Have a good week.
Hugs,
Annie x
My usual workdesk is two ikea trestles with a glass top which I have set at its highest so that I can stand up to work. Sometimes it's easier if you are moving about a lot.
Wait till you see the new posh desk. I'm trying my best not to dump stuff on it haha
Enjoy your week Julia

Remember my boxes? Yeah! one of those is labelled 'paper & card scraps'!!! Maybe I should change my method to yours ..... nah! I'd keep knocking them over!!
Must be Spring if your using your door .....
Have a good week

Hi Julia, When you don't show us your desk, we know what it looks like:) LOL
I stand when using my Cuttlebug.
Happy WOYWW and I hope you have a lovely Easter weekend. Sue #17
Scrap boxes! now there's a thing! I have decided it's time to use some of that stuff so you may see it appearing eventually! Have a great woyww and happy crafting, Angela xXx 20
You're going to have to start Scrap Box 2 shortly! Either that or bin the lot of them :-D. Hope things are going ok and you're enjoying having your girlie at home!

Happy WOYWW. Now that is a scraps box! I have split mine up into 3 - one white/cream, one colours/metallic and the other is patterned stuff. Not a huge amount in each anymore, as I do make an effort to always go there first for inspiration/just the right colour. I am much better at chucking stuff out into the recycling bin, as I know from past experience that a lot will never be used. Hope you get your craft area back to yourself soon. Ali x #22
I stand to paint all the time and find chairs always get in my way. Have a lovely easter.

Hi Julia, you always make me smile with your descriptions of things! I have scraps wallets- I outgrew the box, mainly because I never seem to have a piece the right size in the right colour. I also had to be a bit strict with myself over how small a scrap I was going to keep. Started out keeping everything- If I could punch even the smallest thing from it, it got kept. Soon realised that idea wasn't going to fly for long. Have a great week, hugs, Shaz XXX #4
I keep all my scraps (per project) in plastic file folders... it takes up way too much room lol. I like your idea better - one box, one pile... more fun rifling through and discovering what you have :)

Hi Julia, I stand too which is why I've decided that I need to change things round in the craftroom. During my latest attack on my scrap mountain it was clear that my workdesk really is too low for the purpose but I have a lovely worktop which would be perfect if only it didn't have two hard drives, one redundant, two screens and other associated paraphernalia on it. Filing scraps by colour is very organised, that's how mine started but now the basket is just one big muddled mess. Which is why I'm now working my way through the basket as you'll see in this week's post. Hugs, Elizabeth x #27
I've actually started throwing scraps out. I know, the horror! I realised that I save all the usable pieces of card, when I kit for class, and they just never see the light of day again.
In my latest clean up Big Shot got his own drawer. I have never even considered sitting down to work it. Scrap box is more scrap room. I have a fetish about bits and now am obsessed with "under paper" it has better designs than my journal. The mistress of the hose beckons she wants brushing, out side on the table before other cat sees her.

I stand up to do everything except color and run the sewing machine. When I try to do it sitting down it seems like every single thing ends up crooked. So, somewhere along the line I started getting better results standing and just continued it. I am grinning because, the over flowing old bread pans I have with bitty scraps are also in color order.
Have a Happy Easter Julia!

I totally get the things getting piled syndrome. I'm hoping not to follow yoru example today as I get ready for a system overhaul. I stand to use my cutting system too but that's because of the way I have it situated on a rolling cart. I use my punched out scraps (the negative) as stencils in my art journals before tossing them. I also punch shapes and store them in a multi-box tackle box for when I need a little something extra.
Spring has sprung, lots to do! Creative Blessings! Kelly #33
I have the same concept on my scraps. With my recent re-do, I threw out so many scraps and it was so hard! But they needed to be thinned out! Have a great week! Dorlene #33
Hi Julia - I always stand up to die cut too - my scraps aren't as organised as yours though - maybe a project for next week!!! - Jacqueline xx
for someone who is a ´simple´ cardmaker it is wonderfull to see the cutting-things! Wow! And such lovely sheets and board. I do my fabruic-cutting also standing up :-)
groetjes

Hi again Julia. Thanks for visiting and for your comments. I wonder how many others thought I was looking through a loo seat stuck on my workdesk? Obviously Jan and yourself have a VERY similar sense of humour. I'm sitting here roaring with laughter. Just off to clean the loo!!
See you. Take care.

I see we are on the same wavelength across the miles with everything piled higher and deeper. I am in the process of giving card to some school teach friends and will start on other stuff soon. Hope you have a great week. Vickie #38
Julia, I stand up to die cut, to stamp and pretty much everything in my craft room, except for coloring. Can't train myself to stay seated. But I sit enough when I am on my computer! Well, I posted in wrong week, before I did this week. LOL Sorry. Hope it doesn't cause any problems. But I am #41 in this weeks. Thanks for being our hostess.
Happy Easter!
I do a lot of my crafting standing up too! There are just too many things I need to reach for. And I have a pile of things blocking my view to the TV!!!! Ha ha ha - Hope you do get to read about Lee Strobel or watch the movie!!!
I stand to do everything, except sew. I haven't learned to sew standing and doubt I ever will. But I agree that it takes a lot moving and effort to work those Big Shot dies.
One of these days I'll be back. I just need to be able to visit others when I play, and right now, that isn't possible. It's that reciprocity thing!
Happy Easter, dear Julia.
Oh Julia, it would drive me mad if my desk got cluttered with other stuff. It is cluttered enough with mine. We are hoping to have a new bathroom in a couple of months and a door from my room blocked off (to allow the usable part of the bathroom to be bigger) and I have to move a big cupboard full of stamps from that side of the door. I have started already as you can see but what a job! So you have my sympathy.
I too tend to stand when die-cutting - even if it is electric, I also save my scraps but do tend to save tiny bits as well, no idea why as I don't do that much die-cutting at the moment and that is my bit box's main use.
I cannot even begin to think of all the rules made and broken in my craft room. Ah well ...
Have a lovely Easter
Hugs, Neet xx
I keep groaning at the mess all my craft stuff is currently in. With luck I might get some tidying done over this long weekend.

Ah, more of Miss Julia's creative space revealed! Is there a Bog Shot in my future? Time will tell...
HI Julia, I missed the party again this week, so just dropping in to say hello anyway - interesting to see a different part of your workroom and funnily enough I had planned to reorganise my "scrap heap" today. Now wondering if I could create a cutting station, by getting rid of something I don't use any more ... hmmmm ... see that's one of the many good things about this WOYWW thing isn't it? it's so inspiring to see what other people do with their workspaces. Have a lovely long weekend :o) Annie C #43
